Not too challenging, not a completely original storyline. But all in all carried pretty well. This is probably the 2-3 Rpg maker 95 game I ever played (way back when I first started). I was overjoyed when I found the old rmdownload archive with this game in it. Because a lot of classic Rpg maker games have died out. People have forgotten about Rpg95. This is a nice look of nostalgia for me.
Shadowed Sun is the story of a boy named Sirus and his friend Maya. The story starts quite simple. Maya drops her ring into a well, Sirus being the head strong fool he is, climbs into the well (obviously to impress Maya) but the rope slips and he must find a way out of the well. Oh, and while getting a rope, Maya falls into the well as well! Oh my!
Once they reach the end of the well, they must fight a werewolf (how it got into the well, I have no idea) and they discover their village is completely empty.
Upon further inspection, they head to the forest behind the village to see al of the villagers gathered at a plaque. The plaque releases a demon, the demon wipes out the villagers, and so starts our quest.
The game had a lot of highs and lows. The maps were nicely made, no qualms there. All in all a pretty nice Rpg experience.

Grahpics: 7/10
Good: A few custom animations, level designs
BAD: Too much of the same. Felt like I was in the same place everytime

Music: 8/10
Good: A few catchy tunes from time to time
Bad: Overused Midis

Storyline: 9/10
Good: Very well though storyline
Bad: Pretty overused, but still very good

Combat: 9/10
Good: Well balanced combat scenarios
Bad: I found a few battles either too hard or too easy, but still balanced

Difficulty: (out of 5) 3/5
Solid difficulty

OVERALL: 7.5/10
Definantly worth a download. If not for a quick playthrough.

Yeah, the third-person camera angle .... but a fixed third person. Yeah that was
kinda anonoying .... but I think it gave a lot to the game. Ya know, "oh god, something is chasing me and I can't see it! Let me shoot blindly into the night!" LOL and you'd just miss and lose 3 clips and get ambushed by like 5 zombies ... :-(

Sticking with Sony.

I bought the Gamecube originally because lying Capcom said that the Resident Evil series would be exclusive to Nintendo, and I feared that I would never be able to play my beloved forefront trooper of the survival horror revolution again. GC got Resident Evil 1 remake, Resident Evil Zero (both with updated graphics). I expected the Resident Evil II and Resident Evil Nemesis to be upgraded with the incredible GC grahics, but was disapointed. Then Resident Evil 4 came out and completely gave the series a new, fresh feel (and brought back my main man, Leon Kennedy).

But now Capcom is making RE games for Sony (with Resident Evil Outbreak I & II and the Resident Evil 4 port). So since Capcom just totally lied (saying RE would be exclusive to Ninentendo) I won't buy a revolution before a PSIII (as I bought a GC before a PS2).

Blah .... I wrote too much.
