I'll throw out a little scenario then. Actually two. When are you obsessed with a book/video game/something similar? When are you obsessed with a girlfriend/boyfriend? If someone has a general belief on the matter, by all means say it

lol, I used to be pretty one sided about religious things a couple years ago. I had a test in Earth Science I got wrong because I refused to believe that the world has been in existance for more than a few thousand years, rather than several million or more. So I think I put down 3000 or 4000 and got it way wrong. I don't know if all schools are like mine but I have to say that mine is like this and it does and has caused troubles.

I agree, it's almost offending to be honest. For reasons I wish not to post however.

With the majority of his posts, I can deny you that fact. And I didn't. All I said was that I do take him seriously.

As always, you have a good point. But you can't let a kid be too open minded. Otherwise they will go nowhere. What you said is valid though, supporting a decision is good. Leaving it open and not supporting or denying is the worst you can do.

You actually said it yourself in this thread

You have a point there John. But often times you have to do something bold, and usually rude, in order to get something across. Something subtle hardly ever works.

And everything i say doesn't have to only be said to try to shut down my opponet.

John, when I read this I had to look at your name to know it was you lol. I agree the first part of this, but the second part I don't. Sorry to confront directly but it's not a huge confrontation. You do seem to do everything for your cause and refuse to see other's views. I'm very glad to here the first part of this because it's the truth and goes against what you have said more than once before which is proof that your opening your mind on things that you usually seem completely close-minded about

John, how can Jin possibly "back down" on this issue, one that I presented, when there has been no plausable evidence to the contrary besides THE GOVERNMENT SAID SO. You have destroyed your own point by saying that they are not right on everything. Jin is a perfectly good moderator and has not abused his power in the slightest in my opinion. You are very good at turning good threads into personal attacks.

I agree Nasus, that John's view contradicted himself. But does that mean we should post an altered belief just to suit our cause? I don't have anything here to say about Jin^^

Anyways, I do think this is turning out to be Vietnam II. Did I already say that? eh...sorry I'm tired!! <.<

I do take John seriously. He's the only conservative on here with, to be honest, the guts to post what he thinks on pretty much everything. I disagree with him on a lot but not on everything.

Really its kinda funny. They just keep runing around, finding all these little things that are bad. They live their whole lives just all sad and mad and frusturated cuz stuff isn't going PERFECT. Sometimes people need to look at the BIG picture. Things are fine. Relax and enjoy life while you still can.

My point was that they didn't hate the people simply because they wanted to. They were hated because others taught them to. That's how life is still run today and it often sucks. Anyways, I agree with you on the big picture. I was actually thinking about that today, and it always takes me back to Full Metal Alchemist(yes, the anime) and I quote "All is the world, One is me". We are all just one but we have to work for the bigger picture. I don't think you've seen the bigger picture either because you only see the good side, just as Jin seems to only see the bad side. I don't think america is going well right now, but I know from history that it happens and is inevitable...but it does get better. My life personally sucks right now and I'm using this big picture concept more than ever to get through it -.-;

"They live their whole lives just all sad and mad and frusturated cuz stuff isn't going PERFECT."

Just emphasizing that this IS part of the big picture.

That's how kids learn. At a young age the parents enforce their beliefs on the kid and naturally when that person becomes a teenager they rebell on matters they don't believe in(usually). When a kid is little they don't know what they want, they need to often be forced into something to see how they really feel about it. This was done to you and you now know how you really feel on it. I don't go to church, although I'd love to. I like small churches and being in one that just enjoys church for church and not church for seeing people.

ah, I apologize on that matter of closing it. Next time I'll send a PM first, I just feel that if I'm given mod powers I shouldn't have to get permission to use them all the time which is something I could do without them. Just as long as I don't abuse them, and I don't think I was here. Anyways, I'm satisfied now so I'll go ahead and re-close this forum. Thank you Jin, and thank you John for posting sources when I asked you to.

Thread is kind of going off topic but I'll say I also consider myself a liberalitarian(major spelling issues). I'd also like to say that I did terrible on my English midterm. The reason being because we were asked to right an essay on the dream of america and cite quotes from an article. Me, being one to refuse to say or write what I don't believe, I wrote through a pessimistic view. The problem came when I had to throw in BS paragraphs and support because the "source" was completely and totally baised against a pessimistic view. My teacher expressed her views when she responded to my personal view on America's future(as well as bashing my essay) and my Chemistry teacher used to spend half of every class complaining about Bush and pointing out everything he does wrong, usually which I slept through because I already knew it all^^. But point is that schools do seem to be mostly liberals and it causes some troubles. Teacher's who grade essays on material like that need to be completely unbiased. And while that is literally impossible they need to at least not be overly liberal or conservative.

lol, I do believe I made this prediction in a previous thread^^

Why not?

It just deserves to have it's own category, even if not from the dictionary. Terrorism is usually organized crime, but not always and it's usually of a much different degree. Terrorism is open, while most organized crime is hidden, or at least attempted to be.

While that in itself doesn't bother me much. Claiming victory based on that slanted view of the world is rather asinine.

Actually Jin, this does look like an attack. I'm opening this thread back up because I didn't see it as fair for it to be closed. It did go off track when the two of you just took turns calling eachother illogical though lol. Anyways, if you don't like those sources Jin then please post speicif criteria in the forum guidelines thread.
