Most, if not all, video game nudity is a form of pornography. So, by extent, video game nudity is often, if not always, a sin. Sonic has been dumbed down. I remember when I was five or six and we were in the back bedroom of my grandmother's house and I was like "Wow, how'd you do that?" when my cousin beat Sonic CD. I thought he was the best gamer in the world, 'cause I was stuck on zone 3 and he beat the game. I know I've gotten better since then, but when I got Sonic Rush, I beat it in about three days. THREE DAYS. After taking years to get to zone four in Sonic CD, I beat Sonic Rush in three days, and my brother beat it in about a month. He just turned eight, and I traded the game in seven months ago. In my opinion, the only new Sonic games worth playing these days are too easy. But the worst part is that the other games have such lousy mechanics that I can't bear to play them. For instance, I used to have Sonic and the Secret Rings for Wii. However, in the fifth world, there was this one level where it was so impossible to steer this "flying pot" I had to ride that I gave up. I traded the game in without beating it. I had never done that before. But that level wasn't the only part that frustrated me. The other part was the speed of the game. Every time you jump, you lose nearly all of your momentum, because to get higher than two inches off the ground, you have to hold down the jump button to make Sonic stop running and start charging a jump. Then there's attacking. Rather than damage your enemies by just jumping on them, you have to get in range, then use a homing attack by shoving the Wii remote forward. Half the time, I had passed the enemy before the system knew I was trying to attack. SEGA really needs to bring back the Sonic gameplay of old, when it was actually fun. -------------------- |

If the sequel adds something new (that's fun) without changing core mechanics that worked (I'm looking at you, Sonic Storybook Series,) then it's good. If the sequel builds on the last game with an enthralling new story and tweaks that perfect the system of the last game, then its good. But some just go too far. The Pokemon games are an example. The originals were great. They were new, they were fresh, they were different. Then the second generation, the Johto games, added enough to make it better. The next generation, Hoenn, tweaked it enough to make it decent. Then there came the DS games. Diamond and Pearl weren't awful, they were just recycled. They were dumbed down and too easy. I like the new Sinnoh pokemon (the legendaries are epic) but there's too much emphasis on Wi-Fi events (Arceus is still only obtainable if you or someone really bored or really stupid that you can get Arceus off of went to Toys-R-Us during that week when they gave the special one away). Platinum improved it some with harder gym battles and Elite Four (but easier Champion?! give me a break!) and the new rematches where the gym leaders/elite four and champion get upgraded parties, but the DS titles only had two noticeable gameplay tweaks: internet capabilities and easier battle menus through use of the touch-screen. And don't even get me started on the Pokemon Ranger series, or the console battleground series. I'm glad they put a new adventure mode in Colosseum and XD, but the others are only useful if you have the games that work with them, and the sing;e-player isn't even that fun. Then, there's Sonic. But you've heard enough about him from other posts that I can end my rant now. Except for one thing. If there are two series that deserve to live on forever, they're Mario and Zelda. -------------------- |

Yes, yes, yes, it went waaaaay too far and I haven't even played it. Killing guys with guns trying to blow your head off is one thing. Killing civilians is another. For all those who say "Grand Theft Auto already did it," that doesn't make it right. That's not how it works in real life. You can't get away with something just because somebody has before. It's still wrong whether one person or a hundred people do it. It's a plus that Infinity Ward made the mission optional, but putting it in their in the first place was a bad idea. -------------------- |

I haven't tried this one, but I've tried a couple others, (most notably PokeNet). The big problem with them is that there's not a whole lot of direction to it. You get thrown in there (at least the ones I've played) and have to find your way through to do what you need to. The lack of a real story due to the MMO aspect really takes away from the fun of Pokemon. In one of the ones I tried, I ended up beating the second gym first 'cause I hadn't played in that region in years! At least you have directions and obstacles that point you in the right direction in the real games, even the hacks on VizzedBoard. -------------------- |

I believe that nudity should not be in games. The entertainment medium of video games was started for innocent enjoyment. Now, the world is twisting something originally harmless into a violence/sex-fest, and it's just ugly. Just because it's everywhere else, doesn't mean it's okay for video games. in fact, it shouldn't be everywhere else either. Anyone who thinks it would be fun to play a game with graphic depictions of the naked human body is just sick. I can't believe anyone would want that. It just goes to show you how perverted our world has become. I sure hope Christ comes soon if this is what we have to put up with down here.

I must say, a Christian RPG would be fun. The question is, how do you make sure it is? I think one neat idea would be to have you playing as a guardian angel. You know, and action RPG where there's more to quests than wandering around and turn-based battles. Maybe have you fighting demons or protecting humans. Sorta bring angels to life, like the Angel Wars video series, only a video game. -------------------- |

Okay, first and foremost, this is my first review on my first day as a member, so bear with me. I'm here to discuss Kirby Super Star Ultra for the DS. This game is what's called an enhanced remake. It takes the game Kirby Super Star for the SNES and re-releases it, only better (new content, updated graphics, etc.) So, how does it rank?
First, let me say that I'm a little biased. I love Kirby. So it's no surprise that I like this game. But that's not to say I won't give an accurate review. Well, anyways, for those of you who don't know what the original was like, the premise of the game is that rather than one longer adventure, you take several smaller games and mash them together. Not only does this add a little replay value, but it lessens linearity. That's not to say you can play any game from the start. No, the game gives a learning curve, starting with the very easy Spring Breeze and working its way up to the True Arena, with all the new (and very hard) bosses from Ultra. The bad thing is, the bosses are the hardest part. Other than that, you should breeze through without a problem. Actually, if you use the right copy ability, even these difficult bosses can be taken down somewhat easily. However, on the other hand, you don't get bored. The games are short and sweet, easily completed within twenty minutes. They gradually get harder and harder, until it gets to the point where you think you're playing a different game. I still can't seem to unlock the True Arena. In fact, the only reason I know about it is I've played it on my friend's game. All in all, this is a fun game, especially Meta Knightmare Ultra. The easy learning curve is a little annoying at first, but picks up at the end of the game. Since I feel like it needs a score, I'll have to give Kirby Super Star Ultra an 8 out of 10. But that doesn't mean anything. It's all an opinion, so don't get mad at me if you think I gave it the wrong score or anything. This is one game I must recommend, especially for those that aren't that great at games yet First, let me say that I'm a little biased. I love Kirby. So it's no surprise that I like this game.
