PacmanandMariofan : Thank you. I just wondered if maybe someone knew what was going on. I wondered if it was just my computer (It's Windows XP on a DELL computer. It really sucks and I need to throw it away someday). Thanks for sharing your experience with me.

When I switch to Mednafen (which has video-recording capabilities), DKC Competition Edition will not turn on. It loads, but then all I see is a black screen. Why? I'm not very good at DKC anyway...

Tails the Fox : I agree, it's just that I wasn't really that impressed by it because it felt bland and the storywriting aspect of it was extremely laughable in my opinion. I once heard someone say that "a block of wood has more personality than Samus's voice actor", and I do understand that Samus is sort of like a female Master Chief if you think about it. I thought the game seemed decent, but I'm just not that big of a fan of the type of game that it is trying to be, and it doesn't really do that great of a job mixing those things with the occasional Metroid-style puzzles that Other M has. It just felt annoying and confusing to me. It wasn't that bad, just really boring to me. Sorry, but that's just my opinion about it.

I agree with Omniterran. Troll 2 is quite possibly an even dumber movie than Transformers 2. The whole movie is basically just stupid people falling for the same stupid traps over and over again, it has some of the best worst dialogue and acting I've ever seen, and the story is unbelievably pointless. The goblins are trying to make humans eat food contaminated with chlorophyll, turning the people into plants, just so that the goblins can...eat the plants? Seriously? Are you freaking kidding me? That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. The town where the goblins live is even called "Nilbog" (Goblin spelled backwards). One last thing I will say about this god-awful film is that it has some of the most hideously lazy low-budget special effects I've ever seen. I mean seriously, I know it was made in 1990 but COME ON! A giant yellow sponge drenched in green food coloring with a little plastic shopping bag thing thrown on top of it? How much more laughable can you get?

Wreck-it-Ralph was a little disappointing. My favorite part of it was, I dunno, like, the first 15 minutes of it or so, because it had a lot of delicious video game references (I mean, seriously, Kano yanked someone's heart straight out of the chest. In a DISNEY MOVIE!?! OMG, that is awesome.) That little subway terminal thing with all of the video game characters walking around in it felt like video game heaven to me, and it even had Sonic the Hedgehog himself speaking over the intercom. I loved the BAD GUY ANON meeting as well. However, the movie kind of started going downhill and losing its focus after Hero's Duty; as soon as Ralph entered Sugar Rush (which, believe me, is actually a real game in Japan), he had no choice but to stay there with that annoying little glitch girl Vanellope. Also, the movie started to turn into little more than a huge collection of cheesy candy jokes and slapstick humor, with the exception of (SPOILER ALERT) the plot twist where it turns out that King Kandy is actually the villain (no surprise there). Overall, I think that this movie could have (and should have) been a lot better. I'm not a big fan of Disney, and I think that there should have been at least a little Internet comedy series based off of this movie's premise. The movie was good, I suppose. I definitely do know quite a bit about video games...

Worms was probably one of the dumbest (and laziest) games I have ever seen on any system, and yes, it was also ported to the GBA. Worms is not even worth the space it takes up on emulators. I couldn't even begin to describe how lame the Worms series is...see for yourself. I also don't like the GBA version of Earthworm Jim; I mean it was better than I expected, with some of the features from the Special Edition version of the game, but it was just a terrible, sloppy port of the SNES version and I couldn't get past the For Pete's Sake level on the GBA version because there was a certain ledge that Jim refused to grab onto, making me fall into a bottomless pit until I got a Game Over. I've heard that Earthworm Jim 2 has an even worse GBA port...I wouldn't want to see that.

Did you enjoy Metroid Other M? I wasn't really expecting much when I played it, and I wasn't very impressed. I haven't even finished Other M; not even anywhere close to halfway through it. I've played Super Metroid for years, I definitely enjoyed the Metroid Prime trilogy, I thought Zero Mission was a great remake of Metroid 1, and I even thought Metroid Fusion was pretty decent if nothing else, but Other M was a little subpar. The intro cutscene with the little flashback to the final boss from Super Metroid (Mega Mother Brain) looked absolutely amazing, and the whole game (both gameplay and cutscenes) has a great visual aesthetic to it, but I just hated the way Samus brooded on and on about her past during the cutscenes, like a whiny emo teenage girl reading crappy overdramatic breakup love stories from her diary. The writing was ludicrous; I mean seriously, how did Ridley evolve using Pokemon crystals? Why is Samus so afraid of Ridley? What relation does the Bottle Ship have to the space station from Fusion? Why did Samus act like such a selfish brat in front of her commanders? Why does Samus have to move so slowly whenever she's "afraid" that some random thing is going to happen? I wasn't really digging the gameplay either. I get that it's trying to do something different, and it does have some decent things about it, but it felt confusingly linear and most of the combat amounted to hardly anything more than just pressing the attack button over and over again until all of the enemies died, letting the aim-assist do most (if not all) of the work for you. Every now and then, you might come across a tougher battle that actually requires you to dodge a little bit, and some of these encounters can be pretty tough (partly because of how long they can be). Also, when you have to switch to 1st-person mode, stand still, aim at specific targets, and lock on, just to fire a missile, it can get pretty tiresome. It almost makes me feel like the entire game should have been more like 2D Metroid or 1st-person Metroid, but I know that Team Ninja was involved and I guess it's OK that they're trying to do something new with the Ninja Gaiden-style 3D perspective. In my opinion, though, the worst thing about the game is having to get abilities "authorized" before you can use them; in my opinion, it's even worse than the constant hand-holding system from Fusion. Yet another thing that bugs me is that you can't walk off of ledges; not only that, but there are some really stupid puzzles, like when you have to fire your Charge Beam at panels that look just like Morph Ball slots. I also don't understand how Samus replenishes missiles by concentrating on it, but I suppose it makes more sense than absorbing a biological parasite to refill missiles. Even the dodge system is a little broken, because you can usually dodge in just about any direction you want, you are invincible while dodging, and your beam instantly charges up when you dodge. There are even some moments where your abilities get authorized at the least expected moment, like when you have to go through an ultra-heated area for several minutes before getting the Varia Suit authorized. I even know of one moment where the game doesn't tell you that the ability was authorized (you are in a pit of boiling acid, and if you don't use a Power Bomb within about 10 seconds, you will die). Overall, this game seems decent, but I just don't really get it. If you want to leave your thoughts here, then please feel free.
