Well I've been kicked out of 3 Walmarts...

First time was for shopping cart jousting...

Second was for being drunk on the intercom looking for a friend of mine...

Third was for 10 man sword fight brawl with nerf weapons...

Good times

I don't believe it was too much. It fit very well into the story and I think it gave greater depth and importance to what you are doing in the game. It evokes a strong emotional response.

I've played alot of all three:

Command and Conquer has alot alot of titles in its repertoire. The Red Alert series is a personal favorite out of the bunch with its over the top look at alternate history. The thing that always did it for me was the live action briefings. The campy style and the who's who of sci fi and B actors (including Tricia Helfer, Michael Ironside, Billy Dee Williams, Grace Park, Tim Curry, George Takei, Jonathan Pryce, James Earl Jones and on and on) were a great source of enjoyment and always gave a sense of acomplishment. As far as gameplay goes C&C is probably my least favorite of the three. The gatherer, base building, trickle of enemies AI never really changed till the later titles and even then didn't seem to change much. Over the length of the series the addition of the unit experiance system was nice. If you wanna try the series search out Command and Conquer X which is 12 different C&C games including Renegade the 1st person shooter based on the C&C universe and only around $15

Warcraft=glorious. Warcraft 2 kept me busy for a very very long time. After beating the game multiple times I would still spend hours with the map creator and replacing default windows sounds with the effects from the game. Warcraft 2 still makes its way into my play rotation from time to time. Warcraft 3 added ALOT to the formula with the hero system, neutral monsters and nice in game cut scene/briefings. Best of all is the robust map tools returned and the great community have created some of the most diverse multiplayer experiances out there with tower defense, zone control and zombie survival custom maps.

StarCraft...oh how I wait for your sequel. Starcraft had a great story and very unique play styles for all 3 races. Also robust map tools allowing for great multiplayer modes like golem madness. Wonderful story as well.

In summary C&C = 7.5/10 Warcraft = 9.5/10 StarCraft = 9/10 in my opinion.

Upon re-reading the OP realized this discussion is limited to first titles in the series...oops

In that regards Starcraft wins by a land slide. Warcraft Orcs and Humans felt like more of a test bed for the things Blizzard did later. On it's own it's interesting to check out but never could hold my attention too long. C&C was a bit more refined and was a solid rts experiance at the time but I have alot of trouble trying to play it now. Starcraft really benefitted from what came before and was ground breaking in the RTS field.

ActRaiser is one of my all time favorites with its interesting mix of sim and 2d platformer. Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III and Secret of Mana are great on the RPG front. Finally the Nintendo mainstays of Zelda and Mario are pretty awesome too. Enjoy the nostalgia!

Since you're using a mirrored RAID your data is safe and the PC should continue to operate. As far as the hard drive you could try to reboot the system and see if it spins up. If so you could try to remove it from the RAID array, reformat the bad drive and see if the drive still lives. I wish you luck, bad hard drives=sadface...

Civilization 4 is truly in a class of it's own. My only issue with it is the memory leak I always seem to run into after playing it for a while...never could fix it

I work for an ISP now and have been doing IT for 6 years now and get to see alot of systems and what AV they've had when they get taken out by some nasty virus. So far I'd have to say AVG (I use this on at home) and Avast are great. Another program that is excellent is Malware Bytes which is not a true AV but excellent for removing things already on your system. Also a registry and hard drive cleaner like CCleaner is excellent to have. Hope that's helpful!!!

Almost anything with Bioware in the initial loading screen, but the game that I still come back to and would spend hours making custom campaigns on is Tie Fighter. Just thinking about it make me want to pick up a joystick...

If it is stopping on the same file each time it sounds like either a damaged disk or a corrupted file if direct download. I'd check CoD forums for some specifics as well.

I only had one friend with a Dreamcast at the time it was in production but it was enough to expose me to one of my favorite fighting games of all time Power Stone! Other than that I never saw much of a reason to track one down.

I would have to say a large portion of it is the group play. I made it through college on Smash Bros with some friends in the dorms on a random week night. We even had a few building wide tournaments with 100+ people. Past that the nostalgia of all the charachters, the varied fighting styles and the items (all pokeball battle ftw)!!!

Zaxxon on the Intellivision. That was a game...until my grandma spilt coffee on it and it went up in sparks and smoke. Saddest day of my childhood until 3 years later when I managed to get a NES
