Sword legion : Congratulations!, not just for being on for 2 years but also for making friends here. And despite all your praise toward me, I still wonder how am I going to face the obstacle before me....that is....programming a new game-style: Side-scrolling Shooter (did I make a mistake here?). Anyway, I hope I get over my collage, and help your project more than ever (hopeful thinking).... Congratulations!, not just for being on for 2 years but also for making friends here. Well this is my opinion. I like games that are so hard that they actually crack your bones, I do love them....I play games just for the sake of difficulty.....however games that are filled with cheap tricks at every corner is definitely NOT what I want. I don't mind a few of them, but when they cover up almost everything in the game, I feel like the designers were completely lazy about the difficulty. (for example Dark Souls 2, the definition of difficulty on that game is itself misunderstood, enemies with short knives that has a reach of 10 feet away, bosses that truly meaningless because one hit can take away like half of your health while they require 100 hits to die.....I don't understand this part....why do I have a life bar if it just deplete in about two hits regardless of how much health I got unless I focus on only maximizing my health? why don't I just have 2 hearts which determines how many hits I can take before I die?.....) When it comes to fighting games like street fighters, I don't feel being cheated because I suck at them in the first place XD Anyway, this part may be weird cuz even I don't understand it, when I play castlevania game or ghost n' goblins I feel like I'm playing wrong more than being cheated....I just feel that the designers wants to make these short 6 levels memorable (you could say tormenting instead) and don't just wanna make a game that as easy as mario...., or maybe because they are platformers games... Sword legion : As a matter of fact I did, you see there is a group of food venders in New York called "The Halal Guys", you have to wait 15 mins in line so you can make your order....it's that good. My favorite meal was "Falafel", its taste seem out of place and puts most restaurant to shame, you gatta try it. (oh, and their bread isn't good so I used it as a plate instead). thephantombrain : I've always thought that in America there are all kinds of people from all around of world, but I've learned that this wasn't the only fact there, 20% of the people I met (whether in shops, restaurants, contests, etc...) are Arabs. Also, for some reason every time we check out at the cashier....my father and the cashier start a conversation that lasts 10 mins...and in the end we get a discount of 33% (wow), we even get better discounts when they know that we're Arabs......hell we got a large pizza, salad, 3 wraped meats, 2 french fries, 4 bottle of water for just 12$ !!! (and he doesn't accept tips!!). It seems like everyone here just like to know who you are and wants to talk to you, it is sure a crazy world for a country. I've just returned from USA. Although my family spent like 80% of the time shopping, we had a great experience there. (I wish I could go on my own) There nothing much to talk about (unless you would like to talk about shopping), we DID however went to a baseball batting cage, and....although it was my first time....I managed to hit half of the balls at the speed of 50 MPH. We also went to a go-kart race and like in the case with the baseball, I never drove at a high speed with a go-kart and I STILL beaten everyone except for one fella. *************************** * *************************** I went to a place called Six Flags in Hartford, the rides there are great although I prefer a more gentle one. And there are like....too many restaurants that serves pizza in there, yummy. And then we went to a place called Franklin (I think I spelled that right), been there for a day so I don't have much to talk about it. * *************************** I went to a place called Six Flags in Hartford, the rides there are great although I prefer a more gentle one. Hi all, and no I'm not a challenger, I'm here to show my challenge and see who will accept it 1) Wizardry Gaiden 1: The Suffering of the Queen. (Text-based RPG, The link: https://www.vizzed.com/playonlinegames/game.php?id=73437) 2) Netplay is not needed. (actually we may need that, maybe) 3) End the Queen's suffering (AKA: Beat the game) 4) Standard Thread Rules + No FAQ please +You may use the game's guide, which will be given to every challenger + The ability to restart the emulator in case something bad happened (the consequences are unbearable) + Would like to say that video is required but it the length will be at hours...not to mention the grinding part. 5) Betting session ends after 2 weeks (last day at 8/16). Challenge can begin after that and it will last 20 days (we can post-pone the challenge's launch if such things happened) 6) 2000 Viz wagers, Max Challengers: 5 Bonus: Before attempting any of these, I gatta warn you that this is only for those who played these kind of games before, for they know how to beat the game AND can do it with less efforts, but you're free to do so anyway, and remember that these are only extra tasks so you can forfeit them any time. 1- Reduced party size: Simply beat the game with less members in the party, keep in mind that you this will drastically make the game harder (6: X 1.0, 5: X 1.2, 4: X 1.6, 3: X 2.2, 2: X 3.0, 1: Death wish?.....X 5.0) 2- No Magic: Beat the game without the use of magic, harder than what you think (X 1.75) 3- No Consumable items: You cannot use Items or invoke them (except the quest items which I'll mention it in another post or file), if you can beat the game, then this is a piece of cake (X 1.1) 4- No Advanced class: There's no reason to get an advanced class, it's like a melee/spell-caster and a few exclusive, powerful equipment that are available waaaay later in the game, also requires more grinding. However there is one class that will help you tremendously finish this challenge faster. 5- No "Wish" spell: This spell allows to bypass BOSSES, even the last one, but it still has a huge drawback so one should not use it unless he's sure that the next turn is his defeat. (X 1.2) 6- 1st place: The first one to finish this game and PM me with a proof gets a bonus, if there is any other challenger (X 1.25) 7- Item Collecter: If there are are 2 or more challengers, then the one who beats the game and has the most types of items wins, if two has the same number, they both win (X 1.4) 8- Fair and Square: Beat the game without resetting the emulator (X 2.5) In the next post, I tell you how I'll be calculating the reward....if there are some challengers. 1) Wizardry Gaiden 1: The Suffering of the Queen. rowenisopirus : Wow, you must be really excited about this game. However this review is somewhat in-completed in my opinion (it's more like a preview), well I'm not an expert at reviews but I do know that you were also suppose to talk about the graphics, sound effects and the musics. (come to think of it, I would put the graphic rating to 6.5.....I'm merely being honest) Oh, and for the question in the third paragraph, yes I got everything there is in the game, and.....sadly....the moment that happened, I stopped playing this game because I knew that I claimed everything and there is nothing left to for me. Also, I would recommend for you to play "Breath of fire: Dragon Quarter" on PS2, the game is Tactical RPG (don't worry, the tactics is at its minimum so all you need is common sense to win) and although it is older than Megaman X: Command Mission, it's gameplay looks more advanced! jack3604 : Must be something related to debug mode, I heard some people say it affects certain aspects. Also, there are times when I used my game's .exe, it returned an error and I was sure that it worked perfectly fine while debugging, but then when I restarted the program the error didn't appear.....for some reason. For the first code: I'm not sure, I could search the net but something tells me this will take a long time to solve.
But I know someone who might be able to help you. Blubcreator For the second code: Why would you declare "f = sender, f.WindowState" when you could just type "Me.WindowState" instead? Also, you did plan to make the application appear right? In case you said no, just add a new tool named "Notify Icon" and put these code: 'When loading the form Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load NotifyIcon1.Icon = Me.Icon 'in case you wanted to put the form's icon NotifyIcon1.Visible = False 'Not necessary End Sub 'When re-sizing the form Private Sub Form1_Resize(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Resize If Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Minimized Then Me.Visible = False NotifyIcon1.Visible = True 'An icon should appear in the window's toolbar End If End Sub 'When double clicking on the icon Private Sub NotifyIcon1_MouseDoubleClick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles NotifyIcon1.MouseDoubleClick Me.Visible = True Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Normal NotifyIcon1.Visible = False End Sub But I know someone who might be able to help you. In case you said no, just add a new tool named "Notify Icon" and put these code: 'When loading the form Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load NotifyIcon1.Icon = Me.Icon 'in case you wanted to put the form's icon NotifyIcon1.Visible = False 'Not necessary End Sub 'When re-sizing the form Private Sub Form1_Resize(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Resize If Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Minimized Then Me.Visible = False NotifyIcon1.Visible = True 'An icon should appear in the window's toolbar End If End Sub 'When double clicking on the icon Private Sub NotifyIcon1_MouseDoubleClick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles NotifyIcon1.MouseDoubleClick Me.Visible = True Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Normal NotifyIcon1.Visible = False End Sub -------------------- |

Hmmm, good....so it seems the only thing we need is someone who is skilled in making pictures and musics. (I know a link to a program that might produce music) Oh and how are WE supposed to make the game in no language? Like isn't that difficult to say the least? I mean this is custom language! I personally suggest to get into C++ language (although I have no experience but I will try). Oh and I will be using hotmail then. Oh and how are WE supposed to make the game in no language? Hmmm, I'm interested in learning new things....so yeah I"ll lend you a hand. But I got a holy amounts of questions but the most important ones are: 1- In what language are you planning to make this game? I am only experienced in Visual Basic, sadly. 2- How shall we contact each other? Please don't mention skype, that thing hangs up on me, I'm ok with hotmail. 3- What are you good at in game designing? I need to know so that I may give you some advises. 4- You mention that the boy notice many unusual things, like what are these things? *spots Pikachu*. A grin slowly creeps its way on saldek's face, forming mischievous smirk, as he moves stealthy towards Pikachu, but the suit produces some noises although he tried his best not to make any. Finally he neared Pikachu and shouted as he prepares the swing: YOU'RE MINE. -------------------- |

juuldude : From What I understand, you must have enjoyed your vacation (well not a lot, but enough to say that it was worth it), I don't know about how annoying the mosquitoes are because I'm in a country where there are not a lot of bugs (and we take care of our house That reminds me of my sisters's vacation to Hong Kong, she says it was unbearable for her. (sorry if that offended anyone here) But anyway, I hope you don't mind going there again if you had the chance to do so. "Mah Boi", sorry but I couldn't resist repeating that (who can?). Also I always watch these cut-scenes in youtube every once in a while for a laugh. Btw, there was one line in the tutorial where links tells you to press down to duck (crouch) then walk left or right then he'll say: "Now I'm Duck-Walking", that line has never made me stop laughing for 5 minutes. But nothing is more funny for me than this quote (it's from another game): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hv7jvyslRek Any another fella feel like quote hunting?
