So, when I joined like 3 years ago I made myself a layout in the advanced editor (got trusted pretty quickly) and it worked just fine, everything was golden.

Now, I was away from this site for QUITE a while and in that timespan I changed my domain, so I had to go and edit my layout on here to point to the new location.

However, when I try saving the same old layout I've had active while I wasn't here just with a different link to the css, it tells me I have 7 remote URL errors.

This doesn't really help me much, since the layout works exactly as it should in the preview and off-site (you can check for yourself REDACTED), and I'm not quite sure what it's trying to tell me is wrong.

Any pointers? The FAQ doesn't describe anything about what that error means either.

I just came back from like a year of inactivity, and quite a few of my old screenshots got asigned/rated, which accumulated a little over 90 notifications.

Nothing too exciting.

I got both the netplay item and the beta test ticket for free way back when netplay was first introduced (for testing purposes) and other than a game here and there I never use any at all.
I'm not exactly rich at all, but games are generally cheap enough, so yeah, nothing to really do with it!

Then again I have literally none of that equipment so maybe I'll get some of that.
Or I'll just give it away whatever

Uhm, it's Sunday already here, hope that counts, as I don't know if I can even be here "tomorrow".
Can you just do something simple involving this little guy (too small? If so, try this one) and my name (please don't capitalize the L)?
If you can't come up with anything involving that image in a timely manner, just scratch it and do your own thing, I'm sure it'll be great either way, don't want to hold you up for too long!

Preferably no solid background behind it, if that's no trouble!

The colour scheme really throws me off for some reason, good thing you can change it back, though!

Like this?
I'm not exactly sure what you meant by "justified", so if this isn't what you were looking for and you can't figure it out, tell me.
And I also didn't check if the table will be invisible, but it should be by default, at least Vizzed didn't give the one in my post any borders, so it should be all fine.

If this is what you need, try the following code, edit the coloured parts to fit what you want (the green controls both its height and width at once, so don't add an unnecessary width):
HTML

image url" style="height: 230px;" />

Text on the right.

Singelli :
I'd recommend GIMP for anything like this, but a quick google search reveals, that there actually are rather easy to use, quick generators for transparent pngs, best one I could find so far was the one by DisasterMan.

And no, go ahead and send me your codes, I don't have much to do half of the time anyway!

(If some parts of this post don't look right in IE, you have another reason to use a different browser, at least where available!)
No problem and thank you!
About transparent images, their only property making them a (much) better option is just that IE doesn't display rgba at all, while images are generally reliable and all look the same in all browsers.

Look at these two boxes with your work computer, the left one uses a semi-transparent black image (don't worry about the strange image url), the right one uses rgba with the same values:

As for slapping center on the end of it, do you mean like this: background-position: left center, or do I need any punctuation between the two words? I've never seen two declarations next to each other before (keep in mind I've only been studying the CSS coding for one night... LOL)

That is correct, and yes, using multiple declarations like that is really quite normal.
In fact, by using shorthands (and omitting code that the browser uses by default), one could shorten the whole background's code to something like this (old on left, new on right):
min-height: 400px;
background: url('image url') left center no-repeat;
border: 2px solid #000; border-left: none; border-right: none;
width: 100%; min-height: 400px;
background: url('image url'); background-position:left; background-repeat: no-repeat;
border-top-width: 2px; border-top-color: #000000; border-top-style: solid; border-bottom-width: 2px; border-bottom-color: #000000; border-bottom-style: solid;

Looks quite a bit shorter, doesn't it?
I'd like to think that the colour coding makes it easy enough to study what I did there, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

But why charge people for information that is freely available on the internet?
I'm not a fan of that way of thinking, if somebody needs help and I feel up to helping, I'll just do so for free, as long as it's just help and not outright making the whole thing for people at least.

The computer doesn't make the difference, the browser does.
Are you by any chance using Internet Explorer (or another very outdated browser) on your work computer?
If so, yea, that browser is incompatible with nearly everything about CSS3, so box-shadow, border-radius, rgba as a background colour (or really any colour, IE doesn't know what rgba is) and even the old text-shadow won't work at all.
That cat layout is pretty simple though, it really shouldn't be hard to make it compatible enough with IE to make it readable (just using a transparent image instead of rgba would do wonders already).

I am not sure why the cat picture isn't vertically centered on your netbook, since leggy never specified where it should be vertically, so every browser has to resort to its defaults, which is center in all browsers I tested.
Just slapping on center at the end of the background-position: left; should work to get it to be centered everywhere, though.

Also, the way you guys keep using float is.. bad at best.
You need to clear out the float so it doesn't run wild, which really screws stuff up (as seen here), it seems like vizzed uses a little sandbox for every layout to keep it inside the post box, though, otherwise that layout would just cut into the next post without caring about any boundaries, which is fatal.
So that means that instead of just using a
with the float, you'd do for example this as a rather hacky, but functional, fix:
HTML
THIS IS THE TEXTBOX

That, for example, would look like this:
THIS IS THE TEXTBOX

stretch test

As you can see, it doesn't run out of my post box and keeps to its place over there where it belongs.

  • Amazon

    • Wouldn't care, I have never used the site and don't really plan to in the near future, though I guess it's always kind of a bummer when a good shopping opportunity goes to waste.

  • Bing

  • Craigslist

    • Hm, only thing I'd miss about this is probably the funny stories about all the kinds of bulls*** people do on this site.

  • eBay

    • Eh. Only ever bought a single game on here, I'm not sure.

  • Facebook

    • Wouldn't care, virtually never use it.

  • Google

    • Probably the biggest loss, considering it's pretty hard to find a website you need without your favourite search engine, and don't forget the email.
      I think I'd just switch to DuckDuckGo, though, that engine never failed me so far.

  • LinkedIn

    • What's this? I've heard the name around, but never bothered to check up on it, and now that I did, it doesn't seem interesting at all.

  • Twitter

    • No more spurts of short messages without context from people I follow every now and then when I'm bored I guess.

  • Vizzed

    • asdf

  • Wikipedia

    • Also a rather important site to me, since it's a reliable way to get educated about something whenever you feel the need to, at least if you aren't a moron (that is, check up the citations).

  • Windows Live

    • I don't think I ever used this, and with MSN shutting down, I don't think I ever will.

  • Yahoo!

    • Never used any of their services either.

  • YouTube

    • YouTube going down would just spawn a new popular video sharing site and/or give the smaller ones big boosts in popularity (then again, same for all the other sites), so the only real loss is that you have to resubscribe to all of your subs.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
