So, we all have some stories I think relating to video games. That one hilarious glitch in Super Mario World, what your brother did in GTA yesterday, etc. It doesn't even have to be about something that happened in the game, maybe. I don't know. Gonna share some of mine(sorry, some are a little lame), you guys go ahead too. As long as you want!
So, if you look at my game collection you'll see Atari 5200 Dig Dug. For a retro collector in the works this is no big deal, but notice it's my only A5200 game and notes say acquired via "eBay shenanigans." So here's the story behind how I got it: So, I wanted to get the Atari 2600 version of Dig Dug (frankly, the Famicom or A5200 versions would have been a better deal for my money), preferably with at least the manual or something and for cheap. New eBay deal found: "Atari 260 Dig Dug WITH MANUAL." $7. This looks good. I buy it. After waiting a loooooooong time for it to arrive(or what seemed like one), I got it, but it looked different. What the heck? What's this weird thing? (A5200 cartridges look pretty weird. But at the same time, pretty rad.) Turns out...yeah. So what the heck, they said it was the VCS and we got the wrong game. So we contacted the seller (my dad and I, I don't have an eBay account despite my countless purchases[mainly because I don't have a bank account{I should get one soon}]), and it turns out the guy's wife listed it wrong or something. So we got a full refund and they let us keep the game. Yay! (I did end up buying the 2600 game. For $10, new-sealed-in-box is a great deal.)
So, it's well-known that the NES is very prone to game errors. The famous red-light-blinking thing is a good example. (ARRGH!!!!!!!!) But I've had a lot of...let's call them "analog errors" with mine. I don't know what it is, but sometimes games will sort-of work with major glitch issues. I've taken some 3DS videos, but the post doesn't accept videos except from YT(I guess I could upload them), and I'm too lazy to get them off as this requires using my piece of crap slow-butt laptop as a median (this computer doesn't have an SD card port, and if an adapter exists I don't have it). In any case, sometimes it's amusing, sometimes it's frustrating, and other times just baffling. (And sometimes very scary.) In one case, The Legend of Zelda wasn't working right, where in the opening sequence it would repeat the story multiple times (the story of Link, Zelda, Ganon etc. and its words showing up randomly in the list of items sequence) and that just really confused me. I started to play. The name entry screen gave me major trouble. A ton of the letters were missing, and only some of the ones that showed up would actually make letters. And those weren't even the right letters most of the time. Then, only certain characters in the name would show up! I settled for "I  GGY        " or "D O GG  Y    " or whatever it was. And when I finish...the first and last letter are changed to Es. Infuriating. And playing the game? Whenever I got to a new "room," it changed to look like the first one after a while. (Fun note: The text of the "DANGEROUS TO GO ALONE" guy was missing a few letters, so it said "DANG  ROUS" which amused me) In the first dungeon, the transition from room to room was sometimes slow and processed, and it looked very creepy on video. Hard to describe, I hope I get around with those videos. Super Mario Bros. was debatably worse. The cartridge (Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt) has glitched many times, and two instances stand out. One time, it was really messed up and extremely slowed down, and the sound was played in slow motion as well as the action. The other time: The cartridge skipped straight to SMB, like something out of a creepypasta, and it only got weirder. The title screen even was messed up, and in the game it was just not right. Everything would appear earlier and discolored, although just the image. The actual objects and their behaviors were in their normal places. I.e., if you saw a pit early, you could walk over it, but later you'd fall into the ground. Sometimes it'd half-glitch so you could see some of the original scenery, but it'd be glitched up with chunks missing. It was actually pretty fun to play that way, until 4-1 where I kept falling into the same invisible pit. So at that point I restarted, and the game played normally with a minor graphical glitch or two on the title screen. But at a certain point in 1-1 it froze holding the sound, and I panicked and shut it off immediately. (The worst nightmares I've had are of games glitching and cutting to showing something scary, one of which was during SMB. Needless to say I always panic when it freezes.)
I'll save more stories for later posts in here, for maximum Viz(just gave all mine to a friend recently so she could get the PS1, and I'm now almost V-broke).

I'm also getting errors with CD-i games. (Shame, I was looking forward to Hotel Mario.)

The specific errors (for me), in order, are: [Error windows are separated by -- ]
--
Driver cdimono1 (file cdi.c): 2 errors, 0 warnings
--
Errors:
Driver name is a duplicate of cdi.c(cdimono1)
Driver description is a duplicate of cdi.c(cdimono1)
--
[Blank]
--
The emulator then cuts to a blue screen with black strips on the top and right edge. The Zelda games seem to work for some reason, although some of the cutscenes don't play. (The opening one is fine, but when Morshu's is supposed to play, it just freezes until I press a button.)

All I could do without any accounts was rate it safe on McAfee. Although, I'm not sure if this counts, but I went on a group chat place and tried to get a lot of people interested. I think so far I've only gotten 5 or so to join, some of which were sorta by a chain reaction. And I think I might do the video thing later, I'll just edit this post to say so if I do.

Hey, it's me! It has really been a while since I last did a review. Over 4 months, in fact! Here I am reviewing Crackers Revenge V, an amateur(?) game for the Commodore 64, apparently programmed by "Wrench" from a programming team called "The Rat Pack." [Note: I think "Crackers" may have been meant to say "Cracker's" in the game title, if the game's protagonist were to be someone named Cracker.] As usual I will be using the ratings scale found in my SMB(TG16/PCE pirate) review.
Graphics: 6. I've seen much better than this on other C64 games. At the title screen, the game's name is just rendered in plain large text in the middle of the screen, with credits text scrolling by on different rows on the screen. The font is nice at least. The only "decoration" is how it's split up into rows in different moderately attractive colors, and some small animated crudely animated sprites on the top and bottom of the screen. When you get to the game, it's still not that great; Aliens are rendered with 2 colors and the life counter and alien sprites (although recolored) appear to be taken from Namco's
Galaxian, with the ship being a simplified 3-color recolor of the Fighter from Galaga. Not impressive so far. Tl;dr: Lackluster. Sprites are totally copied.
Sound: 9 nearing 10. MAN. This is a major step up from the graphics department. The title screen is a well-orchestrated ballad(correct word?) that sets the standard high for introducing an epic game. I could listen to that for while. In fact, I did for a very long time while writing this review(it can't be turned off, Vizzed's fake "pause" button doesn't work, and I kept the game window open for convenience), and I'm still not sick of it. But does it get better? Yes it does. Play the game for yourself. I don't care if other aspects of the game turn you off, you NEED to play this if only for the in-game music. Everyone does. I could get this stuck in my head. It's the kind of jam I want to hear playin on the radio 24-7 instead of the Frozen soundtrack. Everything is perfect, the little chuchu chuchu chu chu, chu; chu chuchu chuchu accompaniment, the peeoww peooww peeeooowww of the ray gun melody, the cc c c c c sound...and as it progresses, the oooonnhnhn, AAHHMHM oohhn ohhhhn, ohhhhhhn wave, the tototottiktiktiik at that one part, the awesome clooawww cloaww cloaw clooooaaaww unison part...it's amazing. The one downfall is that the game is always playing one of the musics when running, and in the game there are no sound effects, presumably to save tracks for the BGM. Otherwise this category would be 10/10. Tl;dr: Sound needs to be heard to be believed. No other sound effects though.
Addictiveness: 8. This is addictive in both ways! I'll always think of it when pickin a game to play, and when I get a game over I'll start right back again. Multiple times. For a while. I don't know why this is...Tl;dr: Not really needed, it's like 2 sentences...
Story: N/A. Just shoot aliens forever. If there was supposed to be a story it would get a pretty low score since there's like no exposition for it.
Depth: 2. Nothing new. Except some listable things: Trying to listen through the entire BGM song(which is like impossible), alien attack patterns, and the messages on the title screen. That's literally it. All of the things. ALL of th8m. Seriously, why? Was it too much work to put in some powerups, or enemy convoy arrangement variations, or some neat mechanics, or anything?! This might be acceptable in the case that it's just a Galaxian pirate, which I do not consider impossible... Tl;dr: Like, nothing. The C64 can do more than this.
Difficulty: 5. The controls are fine, it's just the game itself. Aliens move zigzaggedly, in stark contrast to the smooth twirl found in the Galaxian/Galaga series. They also can shoot you. This somehow messes me up. I think I probably just suck at the game...Tl;dr: It shouldn't be hard, but it somehow is. I think I just suck at it.
I thought this was going to make this game look great, but now that I look back on it, it kinda sucks a little. I really just liked it for the music I think, I have a particular taste for good music. (Explaining my interest in Domino Man, Metro-Cross, etc.) I did give it a 6.9, it's pretty good if you give it a chance. Hope to do some more reviewin later!

True story: Yesterday I ate about a whole raw clove of garlic. Not only did the first huge bite (I forgot exactly how spicy it is) sting like the dickens, but when I got home, I smelled like garlic and people would smell it within a 10-foot radius. >.<

(Local Mods : Move this if it's not in the right place, or if there's already a thread like this direct me to it.) I've been looking through Vizzed and haven't found any place to discuss MSPA, so I am starting this thread. I personally am a big fan of Homestuck and would like to meet other fans here on Vizzed!

Spoiler:
Did you know there's a user on Vizzed by the name of tipsyGnostalgic? :3

Edit: This includes Paradox Space I guess.

There's still no link. Everybody, use this: https://www.youtube.com/user/Tankman1017

I subscribed. My account is my real name by accident, so I can't say my full username. It's L**** B*****, with Turbo as the picture.

You did say you like 80s music, so........
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-rjS6cSIp0 I love this song, although it's more 90s in what seems to be an 80s style.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66WPbIdY_zo This is a soundtrack, but whatever.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXeA_Z9YgHY This is a remix. I thiiiiiiiink it's 80s, but it's likely early 90s.
All right, there's my 3. Hope you find stuff you like, dude.

I really don't want to bother anyone, but earning Viz myself is becoming difficult. Writing reviews is time-consuming and not worth as much as I'd think, and there aren't a lot of Market threads I can help with. So can someone please give me a little boost for the PlayStation item? Not necessarily enough to get me to 50,000, just something to help me get there faster. Thank you, people of this thread and I understand if no one's available at the moment.
