Yeah. Again, that's definitely something I want to start focusing on, is the the negatives. And I guess I missed that. I meant to do a 9... Lemme edit that. -------------------- |

Ah, Bioshock. I only recently got my hands upon this game with the purchase of Bioshock Rapture Edition. Now to be fair, I had played the game years back at my Buddy's house but unfortunately his X-box broke and couldn't played it. Now I've always heard that Bioshock is Fantastic, one of the greatest games ever made, and etc. So, I decided it was about time I purchased it. My thoughts? Well read on.
STORY: The story follows the Protagonist of the game, Jack. For the most part he's a silent character, but he does have one line. "My parents always told me I was special, and that I was made to do great things. You know what? They were right." Fantastic Line. But other than that, he doesn't say one thing. On a trip to England the Airplane that he is on has a crash and falls into a sea of water. As a Miracle, Jack just so happens to survive the crash, and sees a near by Light house. He eventually swims to it, and finds an evalator, where goes down to an underwater city, Rapture. This is definitely one of the coolest places in gaming. It definitely shows what it's trying to do... Going to places Man has only dream't about. In this game it's an Underwater city, and in the third installment it's in the sky. Honestly, if they wind up making a sequel, I have no Idea how they can top this. Through out the game you'll find Audio Logs, or as the game calls them, "Audio Diarys" and they'll tell you some fairly interesting story's and Information. For the most part, these are optional, but if you really want to connect everything up in the story than it's recommended to listen to these. Andrew Ryan the creator of Rapture is the Antagonist of the game. An aquaintance you meet early in the game "Atlas" helps you through out, and is where most of your missions come from. I honestly love the lessons the game is giving. It's basically showing how humanity would be like if there was no rules, and was free to do anything. It'd get out of hand. And the fact that it's an underwater city helps that. Each game in the series tends to deal with issues like this, but that's for there own review. So for the most part the story is pretty good, but it requires that you really pay attention to whats going on to fully aprecciate it. GAMEPLAY: Ah, the game play. What can I say.... It's pretty fluent. Through out the game you'll find a wide variety of Guns. Early in the game you also discover "Plasmids" and these are basically like Magic. The very first one you get in the game is Electricity. My personal favorite is Telekinisis. You also have a camera in the game where you can take pictures of enemies and you'll learn about them, and you'll get bonus's such as More damage against that certain enemy. I personally didn't find myself using that feature to much in the game. There's two currency's in this game. Money and Adam. Money is what you think it is. You can purchase Health packs, Ammo, EVE Hypo's (The stuff that fills up your magic), and even hacking devices. In the game you'll find Cameras, turrets, and some other things like that. You can destroy them if you want, but if you stun them you can go up to them and hack them. You'll have to play a Minigame of sorts, and can be pretty difficult. You basically have to make a passage with tubes to another side before this blue liquid get's to it. I previously mentionied the hacking device. This will auto-hack it for you. Adam is a rarer currency, and harder to get. Through the game you'll find these enemies called Big Daddys. There damn hard, but you have to fight them to get adam. The big daddy's are gaurding these little girls called "Little sisters". Once you defeat a big daddy, you'll have the choice of Harvesting or Rescuing the little sister. If you harvest them you get tons of Adam but will result in a bad ending, if you decide to rescue them you'll get little Adam, but you'll result in a good ending. It's basically a choice of Morality. With Adam you can purchase Plasmids, Plasmid Upgrades, Health Upgrades, EVE Upgrades, and more. Through out the game you'll also find machines that will upgrade your guns. Unfortunately each one only has one use, so choose wisely. Upgrades are nice, but it even results in making your gun look cooler. Especially the Revolver. Ammo in the game can occasionally be hard to come by, and make some parts rather difficuly. Luckily there's not to many. Another occasional problem is money. While it doesn't become to bad, it can also be really hard to find on SOME parts. Welp, I think I've covered most of the Gameplay. Let's move on. MUSIC AND SFX: Most of the game there isn't much music, but it's all key to immersion. When Music does play, it's Incredible. I mean, just listen to this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lVQ70MT2Kk . One of my favorite soundtracks of all time. The SFX is also pretty cool. Especially when you hear someone walking nearby or something like that. It freaks you out. PRESENTATION: This is probably one of the best parts about this game. The Atmosphere is absolutely incredible, and just damn right immersive. And it help's that the Graphics are gorgeous as well. I didn't run into that many glitches, but I did run into a few. Most of them being dead bodys just spazzing around. Luckily there few far and between. OVERALL THOUGHTS: I'd have to say this is a must play. The mere fact of going to places where Man has only dream't about is just plain awesome. I honestly felt like I WAS Jack. You don't leave his view once in the game, and the fact that he's silent adds to that. It's basically you right there. That's probably one of my favorite things about the game though. The atmosphere. You always feel like you're actually there. Another one of my favorite things is the Underline message. The difference between a Man and a Slave, where would humanity go if we didn't have rules. The answer to that is Rapture. If you haven't played this game, than why the hell haven't you? Would you kindly play this f***ing game already. 7.5/10 (Some of the hype sullied the experience for me...) STORY: The story follows the Protagonist of the game, Jack. It sounds horrible. It just keeps getting worse, and worse. And now it's came out with an official pricing. 900$? I don't think so. -------------------- |

Final Fantasy VII.... Where do I even begin? This game means more to me than any other Video Game in the Planet. What can I say... It's my favorite game of all time... I honestly can't remember how I first found out about this game. Well... Years and Years ago our family had recieved a package from my sister. It was a bunch of our stuff that we had left with her, but my brother got the game "Final Fantasy VII". I don't know where it began, but my brother started playing it. I remember it clearly. He'd read me the dialouge within the game. I remember the first time he reached first boss. He failed on it, and my other brother who was about 4-6 tried it and beat it. Pretty hilarious huh? That's mainly where my nostalgia for this game kicks in. All my memory's of watching him play it... the entire time. It's definitely my favorite Memory's in gaming. By the time I was old enough to understand an RPG, I decided to purchase FFVII off eBay. That's the first time I ever beat it. I had played the game TONS while watching my brother, but this was the first time I sat down and did my own thing. This lead to more and more memory's.... It was great. This would still remain my favorite game of all time, even it weren't for the enourmos nostalgia. The Game is that damn good. Well, enough about gushing over my memory's, let's do a Review!
LEVEL 1: Story This is a good enough reason alone to play the game. The story is absolutely fantastic. You start off in a Orginazation named Avalanch, destroying Mako Reactors in hopes of keeping the Planet alive. Well, you're only doing it for Money. Aparentally... Your main Protagonist is Cloud Strife. One of my favorite things about this character is his development. He starts off as a cold, Non caring person. But he really grows within the storyline. Around the time you meet Aerith, is about the time Cloud begins to be more Light, and Caring. Brightened up. Great Character development. The Main Antagonist of the game is Sephiroth. He goes long ways with Cloud, and winds up summoning Meteor upon the Planet which will lead to the destruction of the earth. Sounds cliched, but that's because I'm leaving out all The "Meat" of the story, and just giving you a basic draft. LEVEL 2: Presentation Let's start off by saying that this was the BEST looking game for it's time. In fact, you've probably already heard this. But really, they were phenonamal. They still hold up to this day really. I mean, Go into battle in the game. The character model's look incredible! And all of the Pre-rendered backgrounds make the game look that more atmospheric! There's little to no glitches I've ran into. One of the things that's slightly weak is the translation. It's not too bad, but it can be pretty noticable when you wind up reading a line like "This Guy Are Sick". LEVEL 3: You know how this goes. The Main Combat system is your normal Turn Based RPG. But it has a lot of things to enchance it. Let's start off with the Limit Break. Once you take enough Damage you can pull off a "Special Move". All of these are pretty damn cool. Omnislash still being the most bad-ass of them all. Now it's magic system is probably my favorite of all Final Fantasy Games. You have Materia which you equip, and certain spells are within materia. The more you use it, the more the Materia Upgrades, the more damage the spell does. There's a limit to how much materia you can equip, and this varies between your Armor, and Weapon. So this adds a bit of strategy of who needs what in terms of Materia. Ah, Now let's talk about the Chocobos. Now if you've played a Final Fantasy game before, you know what a Chocobo is. I'd say there most active within this game though. To capture these enourmous birds you must first have some Green Greens. Now you must run into the Chocobo tracks, until you find the elusive chocobo! Try to defeat all the enemies surrounding it! Than feed it Green Greens! Who knows, you might just get it. That is if it didn't run-away previously. And that concludes MinkNyu's How To Get a Chocobo Tutorial. You can also breed Chocobos and the higher the rank the chocobo (you can level it up by doing races, and just finding good ones in the wild), and the Higher quality the seed, you might just be able to breed one of the mysterious muli-colored chocobos. The only real reason there here is to get you some Certain materia, that just so happens to kick-ass. Night's of The Round being the first thing that comes to my mind. Alright, need some Mini-games? Well guess what! FFVII Gots that too! There is a place within the game called Golden Saucer, where you can play Multiple Mini-games. This is Definitely one of the coolest places of the game. Let's start off with Chocobo Races! You race against other Chocobos. That's about it. But it's pretty sweet! Next thing I'm going to talk about is Speed Sqaure. It's basically a Rail-shooter. Now there's also Battle-Sqaure! This is where you can really test your skills. It's the basic Combat in a normal battle, but it really puts you to a limit. And there's Ghost Sqaure which basically a Spooky haunted INN. And best of all there's Wonder Sqaure! This is where the term Mini-game really comes to mind. There's Arm Restling, Boxing, Motorcycle chase, Snow-boarding, Moogle Feeding, Underwater Sumarines, Fortune teller, AND MORE! LEVEL 4: Music and SFX What can I say... the music is awesome. You have the really Up-beat Boss Music, and the Really Heart Warming music like Aerith's theme. It's also incredible! Nobuo Ueamatsu did a fantastic Job! Perfection! The SFX are also awesome! I mean, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to explain SFX, but all the ones in the game, sounds pretty good. FINAL LEVEL: Overall Thoughts. This game will always be my favorite, just do to the sheer fact of how much this game means to me. Absolutely everything about this game... It's perfect. Well, anyone who I've been hanging out with lately knows I've been blabbing non stop about this game. Well, most of you anyway. So, I found a decent price for it on eBay, and bought the GOTY. As always, waiting is the most suspensful part about this. I couldn't wait. Well, it finally arived, and first thing I did was pop it in my PS3.
I played the living hell out of it. Playing for Non-stop for about 3 or 4 days straight, I had about 25 hours on it. And, of course, I beat it. Now, for anyone who hasn't played the game, I'm not giving out spoilers. I really wouldn't want to, considering the ending is Incredible. So, I guess I'll TRY to give it a review. Bear with me..... It may not be the best. Story: You're a Former Outlaw, John Marston, with a troubled past. The Goverment has taken your family hostage, and to order to save them, you need to kill Bill Williamson, an Old Outlaw that ran together in a gang, WHICH John Marston was in. Now, right away, the Story Is An Instant Classic. Although, it is a bit cliched, but remember, it's just a setup. It get's much better. Considering this is a Western Type of game, you can definetely see the inspiration within it. Now, Imediatedly you find out the Main Protagonist of this game, John Marston, is an Extremely Relateable guy. Although with that being said, he's also one of the biggest bad-asses in gaming. On the way you'll meet a FANTASTIC Cast of Characters, all Voiced beautifully. Props to the voice actors! Gameplay: Well, what can I say. The shooting mechanics are pretty damn good to say the least. But that's not it. The characters control fantastically as well. Now, I just wanna say this right now, Rock Star got the Horse controls PERFECT. That's not all though, THERE'S SO MUCH Gameplay variety's, I wouldn't even TRY to list them all. I just wanted to list the basics, as I should. And, with that being said, I really cant find a problem with any of the basic gameplay. It's all solid, and well, Fantastic. Also, just one last thing, while playing Red Dead Redemption Normal Mode, there's an auto target while shooting. I played Hardcore (it doesn't have auto-target), so I wouldn't know how it functions personally, but it seems good from what I've heard. Well, actually, there's a few more things I wanna talk about. DEAD-EYE. This is a game Mechanic where you slow down time, and target specific body parts, and then shoot them all within a matter of seconds automatically. Now, it may seem cheap, as I thought it was before I played the game, but It works AWESOMELY. It's one of my favorite features. Your screen slowly goes red as you get shot, like some other modern titles today, and that's another cool thing I saw about it. One of my gripes about the game, is that one you 100% it, it feels pretty small afterwards. But, luckily there is some other stuff to do... THERE'S SO MUCH TO DO IN THIS GAME. So much variety. Although, it's an easy game to 100%, there's still stuff to do after you beat it. I don't even want to list anything else, as there's so much stuff. Like Hunting, Gambling, etc. ALSO, the Gambling is really damn good in this game. I played MUCH MORE Poker then I'd like to admit. Presentation: Well, what can I say. The game is both Techincally, and Non-techincally amazing. The graphics are Fantastic, and the SIZE OF THIS WORLD. It's awesome! There's three main places, New Austin, Mexico, and West Elizabeth. Both incredibly different areas to explore, but all incredibly fun. Another thing I wanna say is, the world is Beautiful. Quite a bit of my time, I just was randomly exploring the world, enjoying the scenery. For an Open world game, it's awesome. Now, there is a few glitches there and there, Far and between though, but that's to be expected with a game this big. Luckily I ran into almost no glitches during my playthrough. Multiplayer: Did I mention there's multiplayer? Nope. I didn't. I don't think anyways... Well, the Multiplayer is some of the best. There's your standard Death Matches, and things like that, but where it really shines is the Free Roaming mode. It's exactly as it sounds. It's all very fun. And hey, if you bought the Undead Nightmare DLC, you get a few modes on that as well. WELL, That was it. Very Unprofessional, but hey. Just wanted to get my thoughts out. There is a Undead Nightmare DLC, which is a Zombie Red Dead Redemption type game, but I haven't played it yet. Hoping to play it later. I'll make another Unprofessional Review on that as well. Well... actually, I'll try to make THAT one more Professional. As I'll probably spend some time doing that one, as this one was done in about 15 minutes... 10/10 I played the living hell out of it. Ah, welcome to the world of Metal Gear Solid. I've been wanting to talk about this game for awhile... So why not make a review of it? Out of all the Playstation games this is probably my favorite aside from Final Fantasy VII. Chances are if you had a Playstation back in the day, you've played this game. It's definitely one of the Most Popular, and for a good reason. It's damn good! Well, let's move on the review!
LEVEL 1: STORY You are Snake, a government agent on a mission to regain control of a secret nuclear weapons base from terrorist hands... That's the basic summary. Look, I know what you might be thinking... "Too generic" or "Sounds horrible" and "Too cliched". I get what you mean.... but there's a reason why this story get's a 10/10. Your first goal in the game is to rescue the Darpa Chief, but through twist and turns the story becomes very much more than that. You can definitely see it's Influence from action movies though. That's not a bad thing though. On the way you'll meet a brilliant cast of characters, both friends and foes. Two major characters Snake meets within his journey are the Love interest for Snake "Meryl", and the Otaku (Nerd), "Otacon". These are both very well devoloped characters and really grow through out the series. A random thing to note is that Meryl is your colonels niece. She's hell-bent on being a Soldier to live up to herself, when she's really not, a bit cliched, but works well. Otacon is a scientist who really helps Snake within the game. There's also the Fox-hound Unit, which contains the main villains including Liquid Snake, Revolver Ocelot, Vulcan Raven, Sniper Wolf, Psycho Mantis, and Decoy Octopus. Ahh man there's just too much to cover. With that being said, the MAIN Antagonist IS Liquid Snake, hell-bent on getting Naked Snakes Ashes/Body, and is always complaining about that Solid Snake was the Favorite out of the two, and that he was superior. (Naked Snake, or rather Big-Boss is both of there father.) A bit jealous aren't you Liquid? Welp, I think that's about all I should talk about for this. Honestly, I hope the next subject isn't as splattered as this. LEVEL 2: Gameplay If you know anything about this, you know it's a Stealth Game. Anyone who has played this game, can agree that this is the KING OF STEALTH. It really showed how it's done in the Stealth industry. In fact, it has yet to be topped. Unfortunately for this particular MGS game, the controls can feel a bit "wacky". I'm mainly talking about how Snake walks in this. It can occasionally just go over-board. Another very out-dated aspect of this game for New-comers is the Gun system. You can't aim. While you can look in the first person to see what's ahead of you in this game, you can't use the gun while that's happening, and if you're new to the series then this will feel really awkward with it's shooting mechanics. You also have other basic stealth elements like crawling on the ground, and Crouching. Unfortunately you can't move while crouching, but isn't that big of a problem. So... How do the bosses play-out... Well... There too damn good. This game has some of the COOLEST bosses in Video Game history. One very notable boss within the game is "Psycho Mantis". Now if you haven't played this game, I'm not sure if this is considered a spoiler so if so.... Well. Not sure what to do. In the cut-scene right before you fight psycho mantis he claims he can read your mind and etc. He tells you to put the controller on the ground. As you do, it will start shaking. And then he preceeds to probably the most interesting part of the cut-scene. If you have a save file of some certain games he'll wind up reading one of them to you. It's pretty damn cool. When the actual boss-fight starts, it mind-blows you again! So you're mindlessly trying to hit him, but you can't seem to. You have no Idea what to do. You wind up getting a codec call from colonel cambell and he tells you to plug your controller in the second slot! There for, he can't read your mind. It's pretty sweet! Through out the game you'll get a nice array of Weapons, and tools. You have your average pistol, and machine gun, but as you progress you wind up getting things like romote controlled rockets! This is best shown in the scene where you use it to blow up the control panel, which leads you to the Gray Fox Battle. (This battle has some pretty hilarious scenes such as Otacon pissing him self and Otacon saying "It's just like one of my japanese animes!") You have a Radar on the top right of your screen which not only shows you enemy placement, but there field of vision as well! This comes in handy. If you play on hard or Expert though, this totally eliminates the radar. So as I said, if they have a field of sight. If you are caught within that, they will come after you. If you hide for along enough, or fight them off (if you fight them off it'll most likely get you killed), the Alert will ware off. There also some places in the game where enemies can hear you if you walk on a puddle of water, or just on a thin Metal Floor. If you walk in the snow enemies can find your tracks and will start looking for you. This game get's so many things right! LEVEL 3: Presenation This is THE GAME that defined Cinimatic story telling within gaming. It definetely raised the bar. With that being said, they game still holds up well today. The character model's are fine, with the face being mainly just a blur, but everything else? This game had phenonmal graphics! And as I said, it still holds up well today. Within my playthroughs I've ran into little, to NO Glitches. LEVEL 4: MUSIC and SFX The music is just plain awesome. Need I say more? Not convinced? Listen to the main Metal Gear Solid theme. The Sound Effects are pretty damn awesome as well, home to one of the most Iconic sound effects ever the "!" alert. FINAL LEVEL: OVERALL THOUGHTS This game is a must-play. It's a classic. It set the bar high in terms of standards. It's one of the games the defined it's era. If you haven't played it... Play it. WELL GUYS, I'm sorry. This review probably wasn't the great. That's probably for two reasons... First, I haven't slept in multiple days so I can't focus right, so apologize for crappy grammar, second I haven't done many reviews, and I didn't have as much time as I would of liked to do this review. RANKINGS LIST: Upon completing your mission, you will be awarded a codename. There are 48 in total, and here they all are, along with the requirements. It depends on the game. Say if I'm playing a Plat-former like mario, I'm completely fine with it. But with Incredibly story driven games like Metal Gear, I hate it when people are watching me. Same thing with horror games. I like playing them In the dark alone. -------------------- |

Hahah, I don't I've ever been offended by a Video Game. I highly doubt It'd hurt me. In fact, I was playing Bioshock Today, and there was a dead cat. I started bashing it up randomly with my wrench. What can I say.... I was bored. Plus, it's a game. Emphasis on "game". Heheh. -------------------- |

That's honestly fairly easy for me. The 90s, and the 2000's. They both equally tie for me though. I feel the current generation is the absolute worse. -------------------- |
