A user of this : I thought for sure it would rain that day over here too. The weather here has been great at bad timing. Sadly, Independence Day isn't one of those holidays where many places close. Instead, they take advantage of the holiday to make some "great deals".

Droog : Yeah it would be better if we could plan farther ahead, but my family is busy. It feels weird to be sitting at a computer and living almost every day hyper and excited when they work their butts off for it but all I do is chores.

Having fun is what matters to me about holidays, it isn't about having the ideal way to celebrate.

Never had a chance to post here the day after, I had a blast on July 4th.

First I went to see Baby Driver, and right after I headed to Midtown Manhattan to watch the fireworks.

I don't get why people always say everything near the Macys fireworks is too crowded. Sure there was a lot of people, but there was a lot of space too, I was even able to sit until the fireworks started.

I went to Orchard Beach in NY with my family on my dad's side. It was great. For all the random details:

-I was amused to see the fighting between my 8 yr old brother and 2 yr old cousin. Even though the adults kept telling my cousin to stop bothering my brother, I wanted so badly to call my brother a sissy. Yes, my cousin is a savage, but my brother overreacted to the point of screaming.

-no life jackets allowed in the ocean. 

- salt water burns the eyes

- I got pinched by a crab

- the grill melted the table.

Another fun fact- My mom and I saw a crab at the beach we went to and a little kid went up and touched it, which scared it. XD

Ooh, a fight! Did you get it on tape? I'm mildly entertained to see fights between kids, but if one of them is my brother I have to put a stop to it. At a youth group outing to an ice cream place, one of the leaders brought his toddler son there. His son kept having a rage face and ramming into all of us. I barely avoided him because I'm quick to flinch.

Then as my sister and I kept looking for grandma, two of the women were walking, one of them about to cry, and the other going "You're making a scene." Yeah, I think they saw me and my sister trying to pretend nothing was going on and not laugh. lol
