The weather here has been a nightmare over the past few weeks. We had three different severe thunderstorm warnings in a 12 day span but they either never showed up or ended up being a light shower. So it's been 2-3 weeks of heat, dryness, and bright sunlight. There was also a four day span where we had the smoke from the Canada fires again so it's been horrible.

The heat wave has been pretty bad with weather going up to 101° last time I checked. I think the worse we’ve gotten was 105° but I feel like we had worse days. I just hope autumn comes by soon enough.

The past few days I had severe storms again. Not going to have a lot of storm chances until middle of the coming week. However, its going to be hot with highs in the mid 90's for my area. Add the humidity and the mid 90's are going to feel like 105. That is hot but I think of what other parts of the country are dealing with. Next week some places in the Midwest and Western part of the United States could have actual temperatures of 110 degrees with heat indexes over 120 during the day.

according to the weather network the conditions are currently favourable for a strong thunderstorm....I don't really mind, sometimes the weather can be real boring in Winnipeg (even though we had two hailstorms this season)

Right now Southern Manitoba is under a Tornado watch and some areas got warnings. Winnipeg is under a Watch, but that thing is not going to hit us (if a warning was issued I would be making a beeline to the basement)

I was finally able to get my forecast done today. Let me just say its going to be hot in my area with isolated storm chances. It was real hot today. Today my high was 94 with a heat index of 102. The next few days I forecasted highs in the upper 90's in my area. It would not be impossible for some locations near my area to hit 100. The bigger story is going to be the heat indexes. I have forecasted heat indexes of 105-110. The good news is I have forecasted some storm chances this weekend.
