Max and the Magic Marker Wii Review

This is an extraordinary game because of how different it is to many other games that I have played before. I'm glad I ran into it when I did to try it out.

Story 8 out of 10: A boy named Max loves to draw. One day through the post he receives an unknown package, max opens it up to reveal a drawing pen. But, unknown to him this no ordinary drawing pen. He then draws a monster with that new drawing pen and with that, the monster then comes to life invades Max's drawings ,and begins wreaking havoc in all of them. What max happens to have is a pen, a special magic marker. Max must now chase, and to get rid of the monster with the help of his new magic marker.

Graphics 7 out of 10: The graphics is of like a picture. Lets say a little kid drawing a body with a round head and sticks as the body part. I am sure you had this when you were very young back in school? While the other graphics in the game gives you something else cool to look at. Its very nice and bright with colours. You will get a good feeling from when you play the game from looking at it.

Sound 7 out of 10: The sound I say is of a childish kind of way why? Because it sounds like a music from a cartoon or something in which any case it sounds a little silly but more fun to hear. I think it’s a genius of how this the people who created this, came to be for making the sound the music. I mean its bubbly fun a little hardcore, but most of the sounds would be childish.

Addictiveness 8 out of 10: Its really addictive to play, when you finish one level you want to play another for some reason. And to that, is because you enjoyed playing the first level it will make you want to see where the story may take you, that's also another reason I played it as well. Story plots can really draw your attention meaning to make you play the game much more longer than you originally planned for.

Difficulty 7 out of 10: It starts to get a little harder when you further progress into the higher levels of the game. There would be more difficult challenges to face, and other puzzles for you to think on. For instance how can I draw this bridge without falling? Or how do I get up there to the portal to end the game level? These kinds of questions will happen when you see where you are in the game.

Depth 8 out of 10: Max and the Magic Marker is a platform game with gameplay similar to another game called Crayon Physics that’s if you have ever heard of it.. I've never played that game before, but stumbled across it when searching for something. The magic marker is controlled by the mouse when you hold your wii remote like a pen itself, and is used to create objects such as platforms and boxes to assist Max in his adventure. The Magic Marker is used to create bridges, platforms and heavy objects to help Max cross caverns, rise up on moving objects.

Overall 8 out of 10: This is indeed a game worth trying out. I came to seeing this on the wii shop when I was looking for games to play. I got the demo at first I didn't understand the gameplay until a few mins into the game. Since you will be guided a bit in the beginning of how to use the controls to control max. I feel it wasn't a waste of money when I brought the full version of the game. This way I got to explore a whole lot more levels with a lot of challenges and puzzles waiting on me to figure out on. I really like the structure of the game so I really recommend for you to try out the game and see if you like it or not. If you play it, and you find out you enjoyed playing then good. But, if you played the game and didn't enjoy it for one reason then that’s fine. As long as you try the game out that’s all that matters really.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review I hope this may get your interest to try out the game one day. I'll be back with another review soon, but until then. ^-^
