Well upon buying my digital copy of Deus Ex Mankind Divided (Which is a great game by the way ^^) it has a unique approach to each mission whether or not you wan't to go in using either a  Stealth or Lethal  approach, Stealth well isn't my style so naturally I choose the more lethal approach ( I killed everyone on the first mission left nobody standing and disabled the helicopter) so really I think I enjoy the lethal approach given the option to over stealth so my question to you my fellow users of Vizzed is...

When given the option to or not, what do you prefer in video games, a stealth approach or a Lethal approach?

I'd probably go with Stealth, yeah being lethal is great but that means you'll be more aggressive and less stragetic.

I just think it's a really effective de-turret just to be able to sneaky and catch people off guard.

That and you have the Bonus of being invisible or blending in to objects with a stealth playstyle.

When I normally play destiny or others, some parts of the game I go stealth but for other parts I go for lethal. So its a mix for me and wouldn't really do one or the other since it wouldn't benefit me that way. I rather do things as I see fit and best ways to go around it and I think not sticking to one thing would solve it. '-'

Well I haven't played makind divided (still split on whether I should pick it up or not) but I did play the original Deus Ex on PC a ton. Typically in games that give you a choice between the two I'll go with stealth, I find it more satisfying and its often the one the game rewards you for going with either by giving you a better ending, item rewards etc. It can be somewhat more challenging at times so it speaks to the video game purist in me who always wants to try and conquer games at their hardest difficulty. Not that I don't like taking the lethal approach at all in games I just mostly save that for games where it's the only option or on subsequent playthroughs of games where its optional (unless I simply find it more enjoyable in that particular game).

It honestly depends on many factors. If I am low on health or ammo,I would rather slip into the shadows. But if I have good health and plenty of ammo and it is better for me to kill all in the way then I will load up and start shooting. It is like when I play DCUO,and I have enemies that are greater in number and are a higher level than me,I would rather try to force one or two enemies to come to me so I can dispatch them and then try to regenerate health and power and then repeat.

I prefer stealth anytime. I'm a huge fan of stealth gameplay in just about any setting. It's just more fun to me, plus it makes each moment really intense when you have to worry about somebody seeing you, timing your moves, deciding when to strike and when to wait, determining whether a kill is safe and when it's too risky, and so on.

I play some games with a focus on lethal gameplay (but never when it's optional), but it depends on the game itself whether I can enjoy that or not.

In most games, I almost always prefer Stealth because I'd rather get the perfect combination of most damage done and least damage received. It's always great to be strong but in many cases it's even better to have the perfect strategy and to be able to kill without being killed first.

I'm going to have to say both. I like to slip in undetected and then either wipe everything out or pick them all off from there, but it's typically one and then the other for me. Example: Max Payne. On the other hand, I generally dislike having to maintain either. Like if I'm playing a game where my character is pretty much useless if used in any other way than covertly, it's pretty much realistic to the point that it actually sucks some or most of the enjoyment out of it. Examples of that would be the Brothers in Arms series, the first Sniper Elite game, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell series and the SOCOM games.

I always go Stealth first, but I generally kill as many as I can while continuing to stay unnoticed (unless I actually get some reward for leaving them alive).

There are plenty of games where Stealth isn't an option, or it isn't intended to be used for more than one or two instances in the entire game, which is another reason to go Stealth when it's implemented well. I'm a huge fan of games like Metal Gear Solid or The Last of Us, which are intended as Stealth-based play, but still leave the option for Lethal available.

There's nothing more satisfying than sneaking up behind a foe and slitting their throat wide open before they even realize you're there. And right next to that is a head-shot with a silencer or bow. I'm a beast with a bow

I try to play all those games with as much stealth and as much use of cover and concealment as possible. I blame my military history but I think anytime I can dive behind something and take as few hits as possible, I'm down for that. When SOCOM was first introduced to the PS2, I excelled at it because I was used to taking my time and not running and gunning down everyone. I don't think there's much style and skill to just strolling in with a bazooka and destroying everything.

I like to think I roll up the classiness and the style points when I defeat AIs that have no idea where I'm at. I give them nothing to shoot at, even in games built to destroy all of it.

Hitman, for example, is a preferred game of mine. I like sneaking around, taking my time, learning the patterns and the habits of the computer and taking people out one bit at a time.

Unless it's Star Wars Battlefront. Then, yes, I'm slaughtering everyone.

I usually stealth first. I really love the tension and skill that comes from those segments. Although I sure as heck will go around to trying it on my second playthrough!

I wonder what the character limit on this thing is.

I, myself, prefer combine lethal and stealth, sneaking in shadows, backstabbing everyone without being noticed or shooting enemies one by one from afar (setting traps on their way), leaving their villain friends confused and terrified, wondering about what happened with their pals.

I'd say it depends on the game, obviously. But I suppose stealth is often more intense when done correctly, so let's go with stealth.

It definitely depends on the game, although I like to try and play through the game in both ways (if I can). The original Deus Ex I beat the game doing both, and it was a ton of fun each time.

If there's a viable stealth option and I know it's there, I'll attempt to do things as stealthily as I can, although I don't like reloading my saves or checkpoints a hundred times per level just to get through without being spotted or killing anyone. In some cases, though, if it's totally viable to play the game like a shooter, I might play it like a shooter, although I'll try to go for stealth first.
