as we probably all know society seems to be relying more and more on computers just the other day I read in the news about a new kind of taxi that they are trying out in some part of the world that does not have a driver instead it is operated by a computer and a person sits in the front passenger seat to monitor the computer to make sure it does not malfunction,I also read about a new delivery system that one of the domino,s is trying out where they use a drone to deliver pizzas instead of hiring a driver it seems like wherever we go these days more things are becoming computerized but what happens if the computers malfunction or stop working? do we have a second alternative that we can use or do we just leave everything up to the computers? I work in a department store and whenever there is a minor power failure it is enough to knock out all the registers even if the power failure only lasts for a minute or two and while I don,t work at the checkouts I know people that do and whenever this happens not only does it affect their registers but also the scales they use to weigh produce because whenever the power goes out they have to wait for all the registers to reset before any customers are allowed to make any purchases and so my question is do you think there should be some sort of backup plan for whenever the computers break down and if so what do you think it should be?

I have heard of these myself. I think that having machines/computers do so much takes away jobs from people- example Wal-Mart check outs. A crazy world where computers take over the job-market lol. But, what I have seeing happen is that whenever the power goes out, they take an iPad and use it as a cash register and takes major credit cards, pay-pal, that Apple pay option using a card reader- so, battery powered computers are the back up plan and/or generators for big warehouses. Very crazy, I'd never would have imagine a car that drives itself- I  used to think of cars as so complex, now, it is all so easily controlled. I saw a show, I can't remember the name but, they basically test out everything new in the market mostly cool tech advances- well, they tested out a car and let it drive them across two States- it merged, slowed down, sped up, switched lanes perfectly- they even napped, read books, and play with tablets on their way there- I don't know that I'd be so relax the first time but, it surely sounds like a nice road trip specially not having to worry about your driver falling asleep or missing a turn somewhere. Another cool invention that I LOVE is the 3D printing- just insane- I want to get one.

Of course there should be a backup plan. But really, I'm not very versed in these problems, so I really have no idea what it should be.

This is why it is critical to have an education that prepares you for a future that will involve computers, robots, programming, and electronics without taking on a job that will be replaced by robots one day.

That's the game.

So, you have to prepare yourself and see how can you survive without all the technology. Can you last more than a day without going on the computer? Can you manage to entertain yourself by reading, drawing, talking, or other skills?

How do you prepare for something that happens when China or Korea or Iran attacks the other countries' networks and infrastructure and it all comes down.

There are plenty of stories and books about the end of the world based on technology not working any more. I think there is a relevant conversation that most people have no idea how to make it a few days without electricity or water. I'm no doomsday prepper and I know I'm not prepared.

I'm motivated. I'm going to read about it now.
