Lately, I've been playing Trackmania Turbo a lot to test a few things out. As the insane game it is for the many unreal things it possesses, in the loading screen before you tackle each track you can sometimes see very good phrases, some of them giving you (valuable) advice.

The phrases can be motivational and said by (very) important people, like one of my favorites said by Mario Andretti: "If you have everything under control it means you're too slow". Others are there just for the fun of it, said by the unknown Trackmaster: "One of my rivals tried to sabotage my car cutting the braking wires. It took me seven races to notice." But the best phrase of all is one that gives you a special advice: how to enable Super Hard Mode.

And how does this crazy game enable such a mysterious mode? Simple: grab your controller UPSIDE DOWN.

I've been tempted to try such mode, but since I still have to play the game for fun instead of aiming for real fast times it remains on my to-do list. However, I couldn't help but think about "implanting" this mode in other videogames. Of course, it's impossible to use in handhelds (because then it turns Super Ultra Extra Hard), but it could be used in all other consoles, even PC.

What's your opinion over this mode? Would you attempt to try it in any videogame? Would you even record yourself playing in this mode to demonstrate your superior skills and insanity over the foolish mortals?

Being honest, I did this kind of thing when I was playing the beat & rhythm game: Project Diva. Since I was playing Extreme difficulty and I'm at least, pretty decent at it. I thought for the fun of it, turn the controller upside down. This made it a bit more difficult due to the swapped buttons and having to use fingers rather than thumbs. But hey, I managed to do at least decent but I wouldn't say that I was a master at the game. X3

Am I the only one thinking this would make a great stream challenge? Lol Okay, now I should try it with Shadow of Mordor or Arkham Knight or something. I'd say Uncharted but the triggers being on the top would be insane...what am I talking about? This whole thing is insane. Lol

Start small: Harvest Moon in super hard mode. Make picking those tomatoes twice as difficult! D: IS IT HUMANLY POSSIBLE?!? Yes, quite.

Eirinn : Nope, you're not the only one. I also thought of it being a nice stream challenge, but I wanted to keep this thread within "affordable" limits of insanity lol.

I actually tried Trackmania Turbo for a bit using this super hard mode they announce. Since you just need the left joystick, the square/R2 buttons and the X/L2 buttons it's not that hard, though it feels weird as hell. More advanced games needing almost every button in the controller would be totally insane.

Wait... All we have to do is turn our controllers around? oO I never thought that could be considered a mode on its own. lol Interesting...

In that case, I've been using that mode for a while now, especially for some of the button-mashing games. I tend to press certain buttons a lot more quickly when the controller is upside-down (not sure why, but it's also easier to execute some of the complicated combos more smoothly), so I do that sometimes, especially when I'm up against people that know the characters very well.

This is just a guess on my part, but it may just be that when I turn my controller around, I also make unintentional/unexpected or weird movements sometimes, so that probably throws my opponents off and they end up not knowing what to expect. I guess it's like activating "Confusion Mode." lol

I won't participate but the quote you had, "[sic] An opponent cut my brakes and I didn't know for seven races," was awesome. I read that and I got all fired up about stuff in general.

Thanks for the little gem right there. I'm going to change it a bit to use it to my own advantage but that's a great quote.

Ghostbear1111 : That game has some funny and inspirational quotes as well as funny advices. Overall, it makes the loading screens much more enjoyable as you wait. I remember a thread about gaming quotes which died up months ago in one of the public forums. I'd be more than happy to have one in this forum so those quotes can be a little bit less serious, and also so I can post the many funny things said in that game and a few others.

What's funny about that quote is that it's more real than you think: you can effectively put it into effect even in the higher levels of difficulty.

Yuna1000 : Well, for the creators of a game which includes jumping over 3/4 of a mile, making 7 loops in less than a minute or simply drifting in the air, turning the controller upside down maybe is even considered normal lol

I honestly am surprised to hear about your special technique for button mashing games. Since I'm a right-hander with an absolute clumsiness when it comes to use my left hand, I'd also be caught off-guard if I saw you doing that.
