Has your computer ever frozen or crashed in the middle of typing a post?
Yes, I was writing a review for Nintendo world championships I believe, and it was around 1000 words and I lost it. I then made a rant thread saying how I would never review again (lol).
What about you guys?

Its happened that my browser has crashed a lot or the site has become unresponsive and basically timed out. Usually whenever I write a long post or thread nowadays I'll pm it to myself just to be safe, I also copy the text in my post most of the time just to be safe in case there's a problem with the reply page. So while its been annoying and cost me a lot of time in the past I've at least learned to be more cautious from it.

Has my computer ever frozen or crashed in the middle of typing a post, well yes lol over the years I've come to expect the un expected when it comes to vizzed, one minute the site is fine the next it might go down for maintenance or the page just doesn't load or crashes or it says sever strain, honestly it happens and the only thing you can really do is be prepared, I started typing up reviews and threads on Microsoft word or notepad because of these issues so that way if something unexpected happens like a page crash or freeze or maintenance my hard work is safe and can be posted again successfully when vizzed comes back up.

Yes....it has and when it does I get so frustrated. This only happens with my laptop though since its old and overdue. In a way I have had this laptop for 6 years now and I actually need to get a new one soon. So what happens when you kept a laptop like that for many years? It will start to crash on you at times or sometimes. When it happens I am so annoyed especially when I type in a very long post. Since I wouldn't be able to remember it. That would mean I have to retype it. >.>

My computer had crashed a few times and randomly turned off a few times due to issues with my battery. It's really annoying, but when I know I'm making a 200+ word post, I save it onto notepad in my computer so in case something happens, I don't lose everything. It's also annoying when Vizzed crashes during a post or something, since you never know when that's going to happen. I try to say that Vizzed is down if I'm having a conversation with somebody in case they're in the middle of a post, and a few times it has saved me.

Well, not anymore since I've gotten a really good PC.

My browser used to be unresponsive sometimes on my old Laptop.

Another thing that was massively annoying on my old laptop was when i wrote a 1000 word review or something and then randomly when i press backspace it goes to the previous page and everything is gone. Actually what made me make 300+ word posts on word.

It's come close Several times.

It's not really particularly when I post. It's whenever I try to upload an image using the post editor. it freeze's for a minute and sometimes crashes.

How to Protect Against Losing Long Posts

This has happened to me in the past, though since I've been building my own PCs and keeping things working, errors have typically been on the server side. So even if your computer is wonderful, you can still lose posts. What do you do?

1: Don't Type on Vizzed

No, I'm not saying don't post on Vizzed. I'm saying don't type on Vizzed. Open a Google account if you don't already have one, and start using your free Google Drive. Docs on Google are cached as soon as you stop typing for any reason. No matter what happens, your computer could crash, Vizzed could go down, your house could be hit by a meteor, and Google will still have your post safe and sound, ready to go. Seriously, if your post is longer than 100 words, don't use the Vizzed editor.

2: Turn off Smart Quotes

We’ve all seen it. Weird characters instead of “quotation marks”. What’s up with that? Simple: People write posts in Word or Docs or something else that prefers the traditional quote marks over the internet standard double quote (") and single quote ('). But that's easy to fix. In Google Docs, just click Tools > Preferences and un-select Use Smart Quotes. It's really that easy!

3: But Wait, There's More!

"Lazlo," you may say, "I wrote my post, copied it, pasted it into Vizzed, but Vizzed was down. I was going to try later but I accidentally my whole clipboard. What do I do?" Ahh, that's a bummer. But luckily for you, Docs caches changes, too! So as long as you didn't do something foolish like deleting your Doc before seeing it posted, it will be waiting for you at the last change, ready to go.

Follow these steps my young champions, and some day, you too can be King of Threads.

Lazlo pretty much summed up how to not lose it.

Just never type long posts on Vizzed, ever.

And I used to have that happen when I was running an older computer, but on my new system I have yet to have big problems with crashing and freezing, it's still running perfectly.

My computer never actually crashed in the middle of typing a long post on vizzed...

But vizzed does sometimes go down at the best times, which is while I'm posting.  -__-

I usually type it on notepad first because vizzed goes down often sometimes.
