I have played many. UNO, Skipbo, a couple different ones like Solitaire and Freecell, and trading card games like Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic, and Cardfight Vanguard.

I like a lot of them so it is hard to choose. Personally I really like Cardfight Vanguard but it is not one that many have heard of. It is based off of an anime by the same name and has a huge luck element as well as strategy.

Edits:
@Eirinn: You actually didn't make a mistake with that name. It is correct and I like that one too but only in the video game form and not with physical cards.

I was pretty into the Pokemon TCG when I was younger like pretty much everything else Pokemon related. I didn't have too much money though so I couldn't buy a lot. Most of my cards were gen 1 or 2 cards that I got from a friend of my mom's which had belonged to her sons when they were younger. Those that I did get new I got on a flea market close to my house from a guy who sold them at half the price, likely illegally. I wouldn't have been able to afford much if I didn't buy them from him though.

We were also pretty bad at English due to all of us being pretty young meaning none of us actually knew the rules of the game. So whenever we played in school we often ended up making our own rules to make sense of stuff we couldn't instantly figure out. Pokemon didn't use energy cards to attack but they were in stead shields and the energy symbols next to the attack were how many they would take away lol. Damage where it said something like 30x meant 30x30 meaning those cards were basically OP. Eventually we changed that and we went by times you were supposed to flip the coin and multiplied with that because I guess we realized that was too OP. Yeah none of it made much sense at the time but we were all young and stupid lol.

Some of the most chaotic moments were when someone chose to do a throw out. Basically meaning that someone would yell that their throwing a card and whoever picked it up first got to keep it. Not sure why people would do that in the first place thinking about it but I guess it was kind of to get your 5 seconds of fame on the school yard

That kind of triggered an interesting in collecting them. For a while I collected yugioh cards though I never got very far there as the guy I got my Pokemon cards from had stopped selling them by that point. I never managed to assemble a full deck. I wanted to get into duel monsters when that was a thing but didn't have the money and they weren't being sold anywhere near me.

I was pretty into Bakugan for a while though that's not really a tcg in the traditional sense. It did have cards but they were made out of metal and the focus were on the Bakugan themselves which were more like figurines. Then there was Gogo figures which were also about collecting but didn't involve any cards. There were few things that could beat the feeling of opening a Pokemon booster pack and the smell of new cards.

Eventually I kind of grew past I guess especially since I had limited funds and was trying to save it for other stuff like games. Not like I had anyone to play with so the only reason I'd have to buy any is to collect them and that's just not getting a lot of enjoyment out of my money especially now that I can play online TCGs where I don't have to pay any money. I sold pretty much all of my Pokemon cards which I had kept in a shoe box on a flea market for way less money than I had paid for them. The only cards I have now are some magic the gathering cards because I bought a starter kit once. They're all in a plastic folder and I've barely touched them since opening the box lol.

As for regular card games I've played a few on occasion but there's nothing I play too much. I've played Uno and enjoyed it a few times. There's a few games I used to play with a normal deck of cards though that was mostly back in the day before I had a computer to entertain myself with

Pacman+Mariofan : Have I played card games? Well for a while that was all I played. I've played games like solitaire, uno, skip-bo, Dutch Blitz, and blackjack (non-gambling) But easily my favorite, is Dutch Blitz. It is a fast paced game where all players play at the same time in a race to get rid of as many cards as they can as well as their blitz pile. Any cards left on the pile are subtracted from your score. With each card on it being -2 points. While every card you play is worth one point. It gets to be a really intense game. Not for the weak of heart!

Can one of you explain a bit more on the Dutch Blitz or PM me on that? That sounds cool but I am not sure I understand the premise really. Thanks.

I used to play them a lot, especially Skip Bo, Canasta, and Pinochle. I'd also play UNO, Crazy Eights, Go Fish, EZ Run, and more! I also enjoy Cribbage a lot, but it's been a while since I've played it. These days, I mostly stick to video games, although we play board games sometimes. I miss playing card games, to be honest.

I also collected Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon cards, although I wonder what life would have been like without them. I feel much of it was a tremendous waste of time and money. Still, I learned some things because of my time doing that, and I don't regret the lessons I've learned.

More recently, I have wasted a lot money on games. I regret that immensely. I have more games than I will ever play extensively. I rarely replay a game, because I am experiencing so many different games. I also rarely finish games, although that's changed recently. I know I've missed out on a lot of joys because of those things and habits.

I guess my biggest regret is spending money mostly on myself rather than my family and others. I've missed out on a lot because of that. I've justified things through logic, but it rarely has worked out well. We could have gone on trips or experienced special things if I had saved the money for us to do just that.

...I realize I went on a tangent there, but I really needed to get that off my chest.
