I was criticized earlier because I originally said I was here for the games. I wanted to find emulators, at no charge and without downloads, so I could play the NES games from my childhood. I found a community of decent people with a fairly okay conversation going. I got into some of the forums and I decided enough threads were interesting to follow and read and eventually comment.

I found Vizzed through Google, I'm pretty sure. I don't use Bing or Yahoo for my search engines. It showed up when I went after NES games emulators, and whatever else I used as a search.

Ah... 2010 was  a more innocent time... First, i had played the online game Vizzed flash bash on Newgrounds, which was a project started by Vizzed some time ago, but has since been abandoned. I remember that i, once upon a time, discovered the majesty of emulators. I thought that this was merely a site with which to download roms, but i soon discovered it was much more than that. This was a community, and you had to download but 1 simple plugin to play hundreds, nay, THOUSANDS of games from the past!!!

Cheesy melodrama aside, I thought that it was awesome that you could play so many Retro games, even GBA games i had yet to play, on this site, plus, this was the first online community I've ever been a part of, really, and is still the only one i actively participate in most of the time.

When I was 10 or 11 (those were the days), I happened upon this site while googling how to play Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness on PC. I didn't want to go through the troubles of signing up or getting the RGR plugin, but when Games Web Free started having problems as an online N64 emulator, I reconsidered Vizzed.
Over time, though, I started to focus more on the community aspects of this site.

I was trying to find a place to play Pokémon Ruby and that's all that needs to be said.
I didn't start posting until a year after I joined, but I lost my first account, so I use this one. I lost it a while back and just forgot the site, but I came back to it when trying to find Ruby again. That's when I started posting, because there's no Pokémon games on here anymore.

I found Vizzed a long while ago.... I honestly don't even remember the date, I would have to dig into some archives.

I believe I found Vizzed through the original Acmlm's Board. There's been a lot of forums, message boards, communities, etc... that have all been inspired one way or another through Acmlm's Board. In fact it's what encouraged me to start my own forum as well at the time. Through it all I have always been on Vizzed since I discovered it way back then (I believe Thoughtless was an active member as well), there were quite a few Acmlm Board communities at the time. I believe I still have the source code for each version somewhere on an Archive. It was a unique forum software that was unlike anything else on the market, and it was Open Source.

As some may know from previous threads, announcements, help areas, etc... I offered my help to David long ago when he was originally attacked by someone. I suggested upgrading from the 1.85 code base to the 2.1A (I believe). From there everything was started from scratch and that's when David and Myself were doing a lot of the feature implementation/upgrades. MOST of the updating I did was on the backed (The Admin Area) although I did do a lot that was in the public eye. I believe I remember implementing Viz into the new software and a few other features off the top of my head.

All and all it's been a good community to be a part of, there was a lot of ups and downs through that period but one thing always remained the same. The respect factor between David and Myself. It's good to see David has brought Vizzed to where he pictured it so long ago. So cheers to many more years to come!!

P.S. I lurk more than I ever post anymore, I do miss developing though.

Back in 2010, I discovered Vizzed when I was trying to find a way to emulate retro games without having to actually download and install emulators because I wanted to use my free time in my 10th grade Multimedia Design class to play some games.

It feels so long ago, because now I'm graduated from college and everything.  This was the first forum I ever joined and one of the only forums I'm active on at all.

I found vizzed a long while ago back in about 2011 when I was just 9 years old. I was going on the Retro game room almost daily everyday despite not having an account. I can remember being fascinated with just how unique the site looked to me. I hadn't seen anything like it at that point in my life. After that I left vizzed until about November of 2016 when I finally created an account.

Well I've found this site when I've wanted to play games online and without using an emulator, that's probably how most people find this site. I was like 11 when I've first come here and I come back to it from time to time.

I found Vizzed when I was looking for games online, especially Pokemon. I used to be on Kongregate but they wanted too much money to really be able to play games. Vizzed popped up one day and it has been home sweet home since tehn. I am on a fixed income but I am able to donate some occasionally and I do not mind because the site offers so much. Vizzed is awesome.

I was always really into online emulators after discovering that I could experience old games that people no longer owned and experience another Fire Emblem game (This was pre-Sacred Stones). I found out Gameboy Mega Man games exist and 1980-games, virtual NES and Virtual Gameboy had a limited library an I really wanted to play games at school that wasn't just MM3 on the gameboy. Around 2010-2011 I also saw some amazing videos on ROM hacks of Mega Man with Rockman No Constancy and Vizzed was the only site on google that had it playable online so I got into Vizzed.
