And since they were no longer employees, they didn't want to spend one more night in this screaming metal deathtrap.

Manager Leggy stepped up to the table, and handed people their last paychecks.

Uttering thanks, and wishing "Good riddance", he told them they had their last job to do.

Cleaning up their mess.

They couldn't choose between three different people. a user of this, deg2000, and ZeroTails were all on the outside looking in. So Leggy put their names into a hat.

The two who ended up having their names drawn... and then successfully lynched, were deg2000, the sleepless Insomniac, and a user of this, a helpless Bystander.

Leggy smiled, happy that some managed to live.

"Congratulations to the four of you left. I know there's a fifth, but he doesn't get congrats, since he had no chance at dying, really."

The players huddled at the door, eager to leave.

"You may wonder, why I'm congratulating you, since there's clearly a member of the Mafia left. That's because the winning condition was merely to survive the entire time. You were basically glorified Leggyists. All who are left (except for thing1) are winners. Technically, as far as sides go, it's a Mafia, Town, Leggyist joint win, which will never happen ever again."

Confusion reigned supreme.

"I'll see you in a few months..."

And with that, he closed the doors of Leggy's for the last time.

You opened your paychecks to see how much you earned this horrifying week.

There was no check. No money. Just a note.

I know this is a bit of a tease, but the potato rule stated the game ended after five day/night cycles. I had a second assassin in this game that I had hope wouldn't die instantly, but I guess that was too much to ask for.

I never change conditions after a game has started, so what is, is.

As far as records go, those surviving will be credited as "winning" players, for surviving Five Nights at Leggy's (the entire goal of this game).

I know it probably doesn't make much sense to anyone, and I don't really expect it to. Mafia is a bit of a social experiment, and every game has a purpose.

Mafia 20 begins in the Summer, maybe. It will be super special.

You get credited with a "win", but it's rather "empty", since by the very nature of the game, you can't win if you never had a chance of losing to begin with. You could say from the moment you got your role you had a 100% chance of winning which was just a happy accident in my quest to make the game more interesting.

Below is the sheet for the game, with MVPs. If there's an error on the sheet, don't worry, I didn't mess up something in the game, I have a notepad document elsewhere that I kept notes on to double check the accuracy of the game. I hate it when you guys make every vote count

MVPS - This time, I'm finding it rather hard to choose three, because by and large, this was a game of shooting yourself in the foot. By day you lynched your own teammates, and at night you took out players who didn't even play the game.

So this is my best attempt to find this round's best players.

1. EideticMemory - He was literally one move away from having a perfect game. His logic was off (whose wasn't?) at times and his predictions also displayed a lack of knowledge, although his plans themselves were sure fire, and had backups aplenty. Had he chosen to kill zlinqx (which was a VERY real thought he had in his head) in the day prior to his death, he may have been spared, and would have ultimately won. He got lucky at times (when other players shot themselves in the foot), but no one seemed to capitalize on this more than EM. He may not have "won", but considering some of the players left at the end, it's arguable the best players weren't the ones who lived the longest.

2. mlb789 - I'm going to toss mlb789 a bone here. He got lucky on N1, and targeted the Mafia member who was slated to kill on that current Night round. Had the Mafia chosen to kill someone else (ultimately he died because the godfather is the highest ranking member of the Mafia), he would have been spared, and would have been able to oust a member of the Mafia early in the game. In a game where it can sometimes be better to be lucky than good, mlb789 had the highest percentage of correct guesses on his moves. In comparison to the other watcher (mvhupsel) who had the right idea, but may have benefited from the Watcher/Border Patrol being combined (an idea I'm exploring for future games).

3. Barathemos - It was tough for the last spot, and I know a LOT of people are going to be surprised by this pick, but I think he played this game as well as you really can, given the circumstances. He was constantly being labeled as fishy, and mainly died on a silly bandwagon vote, as well as being the 2nd target of the lynch, rather than the first. He chose to do nothing the first two nights, which I wish more Loose Cannons would do. Rather than shoot wildly, he calmly assessed the situation, and then used his power to take out two threats to the town. One of which was Mafia, the other of which was a chaotic Bystander, who helped way less than he thinks he did. It's a controversial pick, and the one I'm sure the most people will take offense to, but he played one of the better Loose Cannons that this game has seen in a while. Deal with it.

MAFIA 19 - Five Nights at Leggy's

Misson Statement/Goal - In this game, I aim to cause players to have to change their convictions and doubts on a nightly basis. With two assassins, a loose cannon, and the Mafia, there is the potential for four kills per night round (for 3 nights, at least, with LC limits). With only 23 players, that means by D3's conclusion you could have 15 of the 23 players "dead". Barring shenanigans, it should be rather difficult to survive this game, which is the goal of the exercise. Everyone is a glorified Leggyist, though no one really knows it.

Potato Rule - Any bystander (or town sided role) who lasts five night/day rounds will automatically win the game. To level the playing field, two players will be lynched per day on days 3-5. Should everyone be unanimous on one option, then a second player will be lynched based on RNG.

Hidden Potato Rule - If there are any bystanders left at the end of the game, they will become trees, to allow the remaining players to play to their own victory conditions. (To Allow Assassin/Mafia resolution)

Closing Report - I can't say whether the experiement was a success or not, zanderlex (who will go down as the worst Assassin of all time) got killed right away, so it's hard to tell whether his existence would have caused a greater impact, had he survived the first day round. I theorize that had he lived even 2 more night rounds, that there would be between 2-3 survivors left at the end of the game (not counting thing1, who should be considered a non-entity).

A few things happened during the game that I did not expect, and this altered the scope considerably. First was said zanderlex's failure of a day round, where he basically ousted himself.

Second, was thing1's public announcement that he was a tree. In his PM, he was told he was Mafia Sided, and a Tree. As such, I figured a logical player would have kept that information under lock. Logically, thing1's continued existence in the game would have been suspicious and an assassin/LC/Mafia would eventually attempt taking him out.

He didn't know he was a Haunted Tree, so I can't say I completely blame him, In a sense, it is my fault for having specific rules regarding the Haunted Tree.

Had he known he was a HT, I doubt he would have publicly revealed his role.

As a result, the HT twist was ruined before it got off the ground, simply because a Mafia Sided Tree ousted himself.

One last play, that bothered me, concerning the tree, was that the players themselves never thought to think outside the box, or at least, never acted on it.

The entire time, I told them (from D3 on), they had to kill TWO players. The first day is excusable, they didn't really understand the verbatim wording.

But from D4 on, they could have saved one of their kills had they chosen to lynch thing1, a known tree. There is no rule against lynching trees after all.

In all, I guess you could say I'm disappointed. I intntionally created this particular role set with the intention of it being one of the deadliest games of Mafia ever. And in a sense, that's a success, as players dropped like flies. But in a sense, it could also have been so much more. By design, few people should have been able to survive, but through a combination of dumb luck and good fortune, many town sided players were able to slip through the cracks, despite their logic being a bit off.

If I were to do this experiement again, I think I'd add a failsafe, to keep the game deadly. Such as making it a rule that if you lynch a Haunted Tree, players die. We'll see what the future brings. Mafia 20 will be more interesting as a result of this game.

No problem with dying because policy kill was protected, so ok. But should've saved me because lolmafia.

TIL that taking probability as facts can bite you in the ass. Had I stuck with what I originally had as well as my usual approach, it's possible that things wouldn't have gotten so out of control.

My biggest mistake was assuming Zlinqx was innocent due to the vast majority of players at some point voting out for him, which included Mafia. Prior to that I only shared trivial information with him, some actually being meant to scout him. Prior to the EM dilemma, my suspicions of Mafia were EM, Zlinqx, pacman1755 and darthyoda and possible Assassin being EM, darthyoda and A user of this. Had I decided to stick with the info I had gathered thus far and my guts, it's possible that I would end up nailing both of them down at some point, unless they got me killed before that. Had I not been fooled into believing EM, things would have played differently. Goes to show you can never be too careful, no matter what happens.

That's a sour win for me. It feels like a loss no matter how I look at it. Still, I guess I can make use of this experience next time...

I didn't expect the title of the game would literally mean Five Nights/Days. Good game, everybody, and hope you all join Vizzed Camp later as well.

Had I known I was a haunted tree, I would have played my cards a lot closer to myself, since I would have essentially had a killing role. I would have laid back, and played my cards late in day rounds, dropping to hints that didn't quite point me out, but hinted at me being a power role. , and then the killing roles would come attack me at night, thus dying.

Okay, enough caps. This was oddly a sorta fun game to me. First time impressions went from awesome to meh to awesome and then meh to... wat is this.

megamanmaniac : Killing furret was a horrible mistake but we could capitalize on it in the end and sort of make up for it so I don't mind too much.





There was a lot of luck involved but I would like to say despite being lucky that I did suspect EM being the assassin all along with how he had been more or less completely silent until the moment someone suspected him. But until he did it was just a gut feeling. It was basically the one good prediction I made (well except unconciously stopping mlb from nailing mafia... yay mind powers) but considering the lynch of furret that suddenly becomes not as impressive anymore... Oh well :p





mvhupsel : mafia members may very well turn on in eachother to some extent at least. It's a good way of clearing suspicion on oneself and incidentally is how I managed to survive to the end in the game somehow.

Mafia 19 was awesome. 2 Assassins, a Loose Cannon, 4 Mafia, and a ton of bystanders for collateral.
It was like a dream come true. haha.

But those potato rules...it was in the title but damn was it a shocker. Loved it.

Everyone should sign up for Camp when that comes out. That'll help with Mafia withdrawal.

I'm honestly surprised mvhupsel survived. I incorrectly guessed what role he had, but I was pretty sure he had a power role due to the way he was acting. I thought for sure the mafia would oust him unless he had a secret alliance going.

Just to clear up some confusion (or add more, who knows), I made the mafia kill me, in a way. It wasn't purely a slip-up by them. Still can't believe they did it though.

I acted surprised and confused to avoid the suspicion on Zlinqx I could have caused, since I knew he was GF. I didn't want to influence the game any further.
