Introduction:
Welcome to this mini guide on Donkey Kong for the NES. This guide was made because I was lazy. JK. Anyways, this guide will cover the three levels, and the difference between Game A and Game B. Are you ready? Okay, let’s go save the princess!

Story:
So, Donkey Kong was bored or angry at “Jumpman” (later to be known as Mario) and decided to take his girlfriend who is a princess, Paulina. So, now Mario has to get Paulina back. (best story ever)

Controls:
Yah, controls. You press the A button to jump. ...That’s it.

The Actual Walkthrough:

Level 1: Okay, first level! To “save” the princess, you have to stand on this platform next to her.

There is an oil can next to you. The first barrel that Donkey Kong (that gorilla) throws will hits the oil can. The barrel will become a fire thing. Thankfully, you would probably be well away from the fire when it spawns. There are ladders you have to climb to reach your destination. You can’t climb the broken ones completely (they are awesome for avoiding barrels, though), but the ones that are intact are fine.

Now we come to the most dangerous part- the barrels. They either go down the stage, or roll across the stage. If one comes up to you, just jump over. The hard part is predicting where they will go. They will roll across the stage, and randomly go down ladders. If they come down a ladder that you are currently on, you're screwed.

See those hammers? You can break barrels and fire things with them! Just grab them, and let the murder of barrels happen. One more thing- if you fall from a height, you will die. After you complete the level, you should go on to the next!

Level 2: Second level. Jeez, these levels are going by fast. Anyways, go up the ladders, and jump across the contraption things. Make sure to jump, since if Mario falls, he will drop like a rock, and die. Try to jump on the contraption things when the height is pretty high. The fire thing might get on top of the platform thing. If this happens, wait. It will go back down. When you come to the highest place (sorta), stay on the area where the ladder is. The spring thing will miss you. After the spring goes over you, quickly go to the ladder with the princess. You have now beaten this level.

There are different paths you can take, but this is my preferred one.

Level 3: Ah yes, the last level. This level is different to the others because instead of getting to the princess, you have to go over these… yellow things. Yea. Anyways, there will be fire things that spawn, so beware! This shouldn't be that hard, honestly. The level is even, and yea. Don't touch Donkey Kong, though. You will die.

End game! You saved Pauline! But wait! You are back at the first level! Muhahaha! Yep, this game goes on for eternity if you were good enough. Well, time for Game B!

Game B differences:

Level 1: The barrels are less predictable.

Level 2: Um… I guess the fire thing is more aggressive? I don't really know.

Level 3: The fire things spawn quicker, and more aggressive.

Game B is basically the “hard” mode. Well, this has been a mini guide, and bye.

I don't like the ending of this game. You save Pauline, but then a time warp happens. You're back to the first level and Pauline needs to be saved all over again. The time warp happens an infinite amount of times, too, so Pauline never really gets saved...

The thing I don't like about most guides nowadays is the interesting factor. I want to know what to do, but I don't want my brain to melt while I try to beat the game! That's why I try to make my guides interesting. I am also naturally funny, I guess.

This is what I like to think about the ending. Donkey Kong just kidnaps Pauline all over again, so Pauline is never saved. There IS another DK game based on this one.
