Basically, it'd be a free build place with unlimited resources. So, you wouldn't have to spend MViz or anything to buy materials. This would just be a place to build stuff. 

It'd be a giant world, and we'd use the honor system. People would mark off the space they need for their projects. 

I tried to make the server, but I couldn't run the program for whatever reason, so I was looking for somebody to be co-admin with me, and to actually create the server for me.

Even though I'm not interested at tue time, I would still recomend the GreifPrevention plugon (the internet is known for not following the honor system).

Which program do you need to run the Server? I would love trying to do this, but again, I haven't had any experience setting one up. 

If you could give a few pointers etc, and details about the program, I would be willing to try to set up and help admin the server.

I'm not interested at all. :v. The position you're describing is a head admin's position, not a coadmin's role. Don't sell people short. :v

Secondly, the server already has 2 worlds for this: greenerous and genrody. Find portals to those world's under the big white building you took 15 mins to find last night. :p

tl;dr-Redundant server is redundant.

In my experience, the effort wasn't worth the return in terms of keeping up with a small server, and I was just a command manager in those instances. Unless someone invests a good bit of $ into it, it won't nearly have as much smoothness that you see on the Vizzed Server. The Vizzed Server can be slightly laggy at times, but with a small server, just a few ongoing redstone creations can slow it down tremendously.

With the Vizzed Server, we have David, who can reset the server at almost any time during the day, and has put a lot of work into adding things to do on there. He's also very well versed with code and computers, which is awesome. You also have a userbase where you'll see some one come on if you stay long enough at almost any point of the day. This is almost a year into the server, which means it's actually quite good. Sometimes we have 5-6 people in there at once, and if an event is planned, we have more.

That's just me saying that the Vizzed Server has already gotten over a LOT of the humps that newer servers have to go over. Any new server has to go over them, and they're a pain. Paying some MViz for under-priced supplies is a pretty good deal for being able to play on a server that has successfully lived through these initial stages.

All of that aside, there's another reason why mrfe and I won't join. We won't participate in anything that is meant to rival (and therefore hurt) the activity of the Vizzed Server, even if by spending a ridiculous amount of money, you could somehow make it better than how the server is currently.

It would just be a betrayal of trust, and would take a lack of honor on our part to participate in something like that. Sorry.

Also, you can build with spending any mViz on the Vizzed server. There are free areas even in Vizzed Ville where you can build or in genrody or greenerous. I would love to have someone else active that wants to build. I've got TONS of resources just piled up waiting to be used by someone who has building projects in mind.

I've invested so much time and money into making the current vizzed server what it is that I'd kinda feel threatened if someone made a server which would steal its traffic.

Making a successful Minecraft server isn't easy, especially since there are 1000s out there. The reasons the Vizzed server is somewhat successful is because I can advertise it on vizzed.com, I've added tons of features, I've invested lots of money, I've invested lots of time and I've come up with what I think are some original ideas on the server. I'd highly suggest just using the vizzed server.

If enough users want a world like the one you described then we can consider doing something like that with the current vizzed server but I still don't see how your idea is any different than the Genrody and Greenerous worlds on our current server.

geeogree : Yeah, I have a few projections in mind. I want to make a replica of the USA flag, with all 50 stars, so it would be quite big.

What he described in his first post is a creative build server. Creative build servers let everyone have creative mode, world edit, and plots. This might not be what he has in mind, but its what he described. (unlimited items, plots, just building unless in survival mode)
I think one would boost activity with build competitions since no one wants to buy their items and make tons of trips. Also if you run out of money then you need to wait for David or IB to give you more MV, which would make you stop building.

earthwarrior : We could eventually make a dedicated world to creative mode. We'd have to figure out a way to not be able to transfer items back and forth from that world to the main worlds though, otherwise users could cheat by filling their inventory with items in creative mode and then bringing them back to the main world.

I think we could handle the inventory issue by making you lose all items upon death (so people couldn't spawn at home with all of their items), and having the teleport clear all items, like we do for the Devil's Nightmare mini-game.

The issue we can't get around is people storing stuff in enderchests.

I'm not sure what we can do to get around that issue. :/ We might need a plugin.

Yes, that is exactly what I was talking about. A place just to straight up build instead of having to do the whole buy materials to build thing. To be honest, when I found that out, that was a big turn off, and made me not want to use the server. I just want to build, not have to do a bunch of loopholes to do so.
