Valve To Become More Strict With Early Access Games

Recently, valve has released a few statements concerning games that are in Early Access and are not finished. These statements impose stricter rules on the developers of the game. The number one rule that Valve will no enforce is that all developers must go to greater lengths to ensure that the public understands that the game being developed is not finished and that there may be a possibility that the game may not actually be finished. One example of this is that if a developer sends copies of the game to a YouTuber, they must state that the game is not finished.

In addition, Valve wants game developers to "predict" game timelines because of the fact that nothing is ever concrete and Valve does not want something said that may prove to be wrong. Another rule is that a game that is considered to be Early Access must consist of actual gameplay instead of just footage and such, to not submit for Early Access if the game is already complete an to publish that as the actual game, and to not publish for Early Access if it is unsure if the developers can still fund the development later on.
