I'll eat just about anything. Plus I'm pretty poor. So that means anything. Except dogs. And horses. But I love Asian food. I could probably handle eating rice in some fashion everyday.

Usually some kind of meat or fish, some kind of vegetable, and maybe some other thing.

Some form of potato is common, like mashed potatoes or baked potato. For vegetables, we usually have corn, peas, or salad. We also have rice fairly often.

Sometimes pasta of some kind, most often spaghetti since it's easy.

Sometimes soups like beef stew or chicken noodle soup or cheesy potato soup.

Sometimes we make tacos or get burritos to go from a local burrito place.

This thread makes me feel kind of bad every time I look at it because I feel like I eat nothing like the rest of America. I used to think the way I ate was pretty normal, but now I completely doubt that. haha!

I don't even know that there are staple meals in my household. My husband gets tons and tons and tons of fast food.... that's probably what's in our house most often.  However, I'm tired of eating unhealthily, so it's not my meal of choice.

Since my husband does most of the meal-preparing (because he's too impatient to wait for me to get home and cook, or too picky to like what I make)..... I don't have much of an option.  Most of the time, if he doesn't get fast food, he'll make some kind of pasta... like Ramen mixed with cheese, Ramen mixed with refried beans, Ramen mixed with....

okay, I guess we eat a lot of Ramen.

If I can do whatever I want for dinner, I like to get some fried chicken and eat that with some vegetables like corn or peas, and maybe have some sort of bread to go with it. Pizza is a good meal all by itself, because I usually get the supreme/specialty variety that has vegetables on it as well as meat.
More often I have a sandwich, generally peanut butter, or ramen for dinner. At least I put some frozen peas in with the cooking ramen so it isn't entirely unhealthy.

I mean, if you can really imagine a time where time and thyme were spent playing in the open corners of a basilisk and dreamer when we rolled through the valley of bank shots and double stops?

Personally, I believe that the sleeve of tomorrow is upon the jilted carrot faller, as we roam through the garrison, filled with water, gumption, stalemates, bumpkin bagels and battlers.

Clearly, there's a reason why my cat was dissipating and retrograded.  However, the stagnate parlance of our time is below a twin thump from my shores and hard corp core.

Don't fool yourself, though.  A steel beam will find its way, baby.  A steel... beam.

Blink!

Singelli : I know exactly how you feel. I used to eat trash all day long and busted my ass running so I can eat more trash and stay the same. It can be really hard and difficult to get out of the cycle because let's face it: processed foods are so damn yummy. It took a while before I decided ok 50% of what I eat from now on must be moderately healthy. I am too lazy to cook too often so I always have healthier options in the freezer like a bigass bag of mixed veggies. Couple that with some whey and a bowl of cereal and maybe a bag lightly sauced steamfresh and I am good to go. My gf's brother who happens to be my roommate also, also eats the same and my gf would say we eat like people stuck in super poverty. To hell with that. My diet is healthier than hers and cheaper and equally as tasty. I say if you like what you eat screw everyone else (but still, have some ez healthy choices lying around like fruit.)

OP : I grew up in a Chinese household but my parents are actually from vietnam so growing up we had a lot of fusion of chinese and southeast Asian flavors. Of course this includes rice and stuff so spicy you will never find anything equivalent in spicyness in an American shop. My favorite food is actually noodles. I don't care if it is from Italy or Korea. Give me friggin noodles lol. Growing up though, we lived in an area that was pretty much 60% Mexican and 30% Asian. Needless to say I learned how name every burrito on the menu from a young age not that that is all that difficult anyways because Mexican food is so damn bomb.

Nowadays however I don't live at home anymore, well I do just not my parents' home. Which means my parents aren't cooking for me and I just eat whatever is around. Like I said at least 50% is healthy crap, the other 50% is still crap food but I can run further and faster than most people on this earth so idc about the unhealthy part of my diet. About once or twice a week my gf and I will make a really awesome dinner. This can be food from any culture or a fusion. This can mean 2 juicy mignons with yakisoba stir fry on the side and a couple pot brownies for dessert. Or a boba drink from tea station. Who knows. My household eats pretty much any cuisine and I like to eat stuff people can find weird like bolut or pork blood. Oh yeah, cheese too. I always have a block or two lying around. Sooo good.

I'm an American living in the northern state of Wisconsin. I actually get my main wants of food from the southern regions. Lots of fried foods mostly. My wife is from the northern region near Chicago, Illinois. So her taste in food is more toward German, Jewish, and Polish dishes. So we meet in the middle when it comes to deciding what we will eat. It doesn't hurt that we can both cook very well. We have stuff like Gyros, Lasagna, Spaghetti, different kinds of Wurst served with Sauerkraut ( like Bratwurst & Currywurst ), Kielbasa and cabbage ( with buttermilk mashed potatoes ), Pizza ( hand tossed or deep dish ), Venison Chili, Pierogi, Matzo ball soup, Chicken pot pie, Chicken & Dumplings, Fried Green Tomatoes, Shrimp & Grits, Fried Chicken, Southern-style Collard Greens, Fried Catfish, Fried Pork Chops, Creole Jambalaya, and to end this because I am sure I have listed plenty for you ... Bourbon Chicken. Most dinners being some variety of meat, veggie, fruit and bread. We also tend to eat a lot of rice but I imagine not nearly as much as you do.

It fluctuates a lot. My mom normally gives me vegetables before I eat dinner, so I guess I eat vegetables for dinner. But that's not all, I am also eating turkey since my dad cooked a turkey. Again, it fluctuates and I probably ate cereal for dinner at one time.

Redbattler : I eat a variety of stuff for dinner. Sometimes I'll eat a cheeseburger, other days I may feel like eating chili dogs or pizza or sub. Other times I may feel like eating stir fry, also I love chicken. Most importantly, I LOVE BACON!

We usually have home cooked meals but do get restaurant to go or fast food once in a while. We just make whatever my parents feel like making that day.  I will list a lot of meals we like to make. Beef and broccoli or pepper steak with white rice. Salisbury steak which is burger patties cooked in a dark brown sauce with mashed potatoes and corn or peas. Nachos with meat and beans. Corned beef with cabbage, potatoes, and onions. Chicken fried steak or pork steaks with mashed potatoes, white gravy and corn. Baked Italian breaded chicken tenders or legs with angel hair pasta and green beans. Roasted chicken with season rice and broccoli or carrots. Grill steaks with baked potatoes and salad.  Red beans and rice with smoked sausage. Burgers and french fries or fried yellow squash. Enchiladas or tacos with red rice and re fried beans.  Beef stew or chili with corn bread. Home made pizza. Cowboy beans with smoked ham in it with fried potatoes/onions and cornbread. Goulash or western wagon wheels. Chicken pot pie. Spaghetti or bake zeetee.   Indian tacos which is frybread topped with chili type meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato.  Once in a while we make some sort of helper boxed meal.  Sometimes we will have food normally eaten at lunch breakfast or lunch for dinner.  Tuna salad that has celery, carrots, onion in it. Soup, salad and turkey or grilled cheese sandwich. Beef or grill chicken taco salad my mom makes with a south west dressing, tortilla chips, red or black beans. Bacon, eggs, toast and hash browns.   What ever meal we end up making we try to have a vegetable or side salad and a fruit  with it.  We use a crock pot for beef roast, pork bbq bone less ribs, some soups, chicken with lemon garlic, Italian sausage with peppers for subs, and lots of other things.  If we do get fast food or takeout it is usually Asian or pizza and wings or burgers.

At a restaurant I usually have:

It's different every week but it's not uncommon for us to make a big dinner and then eat leftovers for a few days because it's a lot cheaper than making something good every day. We usually east stuff like that for lunch too (I mean if it's not a school day).

We have tons of yummy dishes where I live!

One of them, my personal favorite, is shawarma, a Levantine Arab dish, which is basically either beef or chicken cooked on a revolving spit. Most people here eat it in a sandwich, but I prefer it with rice and peppers ^^. Another one is shish taouk, which is a Turkish dish, and it's basically cubes of grilled chicken that are marinated and skewered xD. It's usually served with garlic paste, and can be eaten with typically two different kinds of sauces. I forgot their names, but I prefer the red one to the white one. It's spicier .~

I'm South African and we have lots of sunshine so we LOVE barbecues outside and not the charcoal ones.  The real wood fire BBQ.  Wifey and I almost do this every Sunday afternoon.  Piece of red meat, usually venison with some beef sausages and a carrot or ordinary veg salad.  Sometimes we make toasties as well (2 slices of bread with tomato and cheese toasted on the coals).  During the week it's pork, chicken, casseroles, sweet potatoes, potatoes, carrots, broccoli, green beans and always a salad.  Friday is junk food day then it's anything from pizza to hamburgers.

I like soups, salads, pasta, pizza, enchiladas, tacos, veggie burgers, sandwiches, and sometimes breakfast foods for dinner. My favorite is Mexican.

I usually eat my evening salad, which now consists of a cup of spinach, a few sprigs of cilantro and parsley, 2 leaves of cabbage, 1/2 pound of regular ground beef cooked with onions and garlic and tomato sauce, salt, hot pepper, fennel seeds and 3 tablespoons of olive oil and vinegar.
