This thread is dedicated to providing all of the information and resources for the people who plan to help out with the Portals of the Pokemon Kanto Region map on the Vizzed Minecraft Server.

Since the building insides and the towns & routes are on separate maps, we'll have to create portals linking them together. So when you enter a house on the "Pokemon Kanto Region" map, you'll be teleported to the inside of that house on the "Pokemon Kanto Region - Indoor" map.

Some buildings have more than 1 floor or room so we'll have to create teleports connecting the different floors and rooms.

The minecraft plugin we're using for the portals is "Multiverse-Portals" which you can find more information about here:

Naming

Just an update to let you know that I've been keeping up with the portals. I've connected all interior/exterior that are ready so far.

I've also been messing out with the NPC creator, and it's really awesome. Let me know when you've got that role ready, and I can begin work on that.

I'm not sure how I'll be going about the NPC yet because right now you can only change the skin if you give the NCP a name of an actual minecraft account (and the NPC will take that account's skin).

I'd really like for the NPCs to look like how they look in the game but as far as I know, the only way I'd be able to pull that off is if I bought a bunch of minecraft, gave them names based on characters in the game and gave them their skins based on the game. That'd be expensive so if I did do that, I'd have to pick the most commonly used skins. The accounts wouldn't have to go to waste, I could rent out the accounts for Viz and tell the renters that they can use the accounts as long as they want just as long as they didn't change the skins.

Actually, you wouldn't have to name the account based on the character.

You can name it whatever you want, and have a skin of the account.

With some alteration to the resource pack, they'd become the faces of the four remaining characters.

Same with different types of armor, which could be changed to look like clothing.

Just a possibility. One that's slightly less expensive.

The biggest downside I see to this is that they wouldn't look natural without the resource pack.

It turns out I will probably have the budget for 12 and I'll be buying the gift cards most likely tomorrow, making the skins sometime this week and create an auction thread for each of the skins maybe on Friday (and I'll also make an announcement about it as well).

So out of the 14 I listed, I'll only have the budget for 12. Now if someone takes 1st place in the current screenshot competition and decides to take the Viz prize instead of the cash prize, then I should have the budget for 15 (which means we can add another to the list) but that's very unlikely (unless I participate and take 1st) so we'll have to decide on which 2 to exclude.

My idea is to have just 1 team rocket character which would probably be the man variation and re-use the Mom character for the adult woman character. What do you think?
