As you may know, there are two different post editors that you can use while making a post on Vizzed. If you didn't know, well you do now You can toggle between the two by clicking the green text next to "preview post". Which of the two post editors do you use?

I use the old post editor. It does not have the word count at the bottom or all of the tools at the top like the new one has, but it works a heck of a lot better. First of all, HTML works. HTML works in the new one too, but not as well and you usually have to edit it for it to work. And sometimes it doesn't work at all with the new one. I also like the old post editor better because it works better from my phone. When I use the new post editor from my phone, summons don't work, I can't skip lines, and sometimes the text doesn't even appear. But I have absolutely no problem using the old post editor from my phone.

Which post editor do you use and why?

tgags123 :

I use the new poster GENERALLY when I want to make a new post. Just be sure to go and change text color, size, ect AFTER you have finished the whole post, otherwise, you can end up with it stuck on that kind of tex, ie, you want to add more to your post at the bottom, but it won't stop making the text color red or a certain size.

However, when I am copy and pasting large posts, then I use the old editor, that way I keep all my paragraph indentions ect.

Whenever I edit a post, I generally use the old editor for some of the reasons that you stated above I think. ^^'

I don't really have any specific reasons for using the new post editor, I have always been using it from the start and I haven't had any major issues with it, so I really see no reason to change to the other one. I can understand why it would be better to use the older one on a mobile devise though, for my phone and my 3ds (yes, I do post from my 3ds occasionally) , I use the old one instead. But since the majority of my posts are from my computer, I will have to say I use the new one more altogether. Each one has its pros and cons the way I see it.

I used the new post editor for my first few months here, but the old one ever since then.

So it gets confusing if I think about it too much, the "new" post editor is my old one, and the "old" post editor is my new one. =P

As stated by others, the "old" editor is HTML friendly, and it doesn't suffer from most of the random glitches that the "new" one causes when you try to edit a post.

I'm pretty much the same as EM. I always used the new editor, although after the new one started glitching up with edits and such, I switched to the new one. I sometimes use the new one for elimination threads, since I don't use color editing much, so it just seems easier to do that in the new one for me, but otherwise, I'll use the old editor.

I prefer to use the New Post Editor. I like to keep track of how many words my posts contain, especially when I am competing in the TdV

I have always used the new editor. I rarely use HTML (I dunno if I ever used it at all) so I don't see the need to use the old editor. I like the fancy stuff from the new editor, bold text, cursive, coloured, smileys, breaktrough etc. And it keeps track of your words which is useful for the TdV and revies, game guides and things like that.

I usually use the new post editor. I love the spell check and all the fun stuff you can put in. However, some proxies aren't new editor-friendly, so then i'm stuck with the old editor.

Boxia : You can still spell check with the old post editor.

juuldude : I see. You are more of a visual person then. Instead of putting bold tags around the text, you prefer to use the tools at the top. I understand that.

tgags123 : Indeed, although tags can be useful they can be confusing as well, it's easy to use the buttons like the ones in Word.

New. I never use the old one.

Well, My browser never shows the new ones features so I can't tell if I'm using new or old sometimes. :/

I prefer to use the new one even though I don't use its features even if they do appear. Opera is weird like that. some things don't show up in it

I usually switch between the one and new, though I'm currently using the old style one because I've got no need to use any special features and I've got more textbox space

Gosh.... all these old topics just keep resurfacing.  :/

I almost always use the new post editor, and I'd be surprised if the majority didn't. It's use friendly and gives you a pretty decent preview of what your text will look like.    You don't have to view any of the tags or coding.

There are times when I'll swap to the old post editor though.  The new post editor gets glitchy when you start inserting too many tags. There are times where I might write a really long post and have sections colored off, but the coloring tags won't stop in the right places.... and in times, won't end until the last character on the post.  The same might happen with bold tags.

Another thing that sometimes happens is extra spacing after multiple edits.  Although this usually happens when you preview an edit.... I've had it happen randomly as well.  The ONLY way to get rid of the extra lines is to go into the old post editor.

However, whenever I use the old post editor to fix stuff.... I always turn it back off immediately.

I always use the old text editor mainly because I don't have a need for the new post editor since I already know the code for most html that can be used. If I don't know it I just google it real quick instead of switching to it.

New, because I for one actually like getting spell checked and the spell checker doesn't work with the old editor, I've tested it, it just happily accepts everything!
