All PC game patches that I can think of are free everywhere (Unless you mean expansion packs).
Zoo Tycoon 2 doesnt have patches available to download as all patches for it are included in each expansion pack (I found out this the hard way, thru lots of research).
For most PC games you can find their patches on either the games company site or gaming sites like:

http://www.fileshack.com/
http://games.on.net/
