For the problematic videos, have you considered using alternate video upload sites?

I know that they would be less convenient for users, since they won't be all in one place, but you could link to them from a directory of some sort for those wishing to see them.

Some alternate video sites include dailymotion and vimeo. I do not know how stingy they are when it comes to copyright claims and such, but I don't see the harm in trying something new..

ruesen : I'm not sure if it'd be possible to use another video hosting site since YouTube is the only one I know of where you can let your users upload videos to your account.

That's the problem you face when you use YouTube because Google is in the pocket of the fat cats. I quit doing regular uploads to my channel in 2012, even though I had a decent subscriber base. Mostly I use uploadsociety.com now, where unfair copyright strikes are nearly non-existant, but unfortunately I don't think that site has the features that Vizzed needs.

Davideo7 :
I didn't mean to dedicate all of your video uploads to another site, just the ones being flagged by youtube. Keep the user gameplay videos on youtube, and put the commercials and other related stuff on another video upload site.

Well this is bad news especially the 15 minute limit.
The youtube copyright system is pretty ridiculous. I kind of hate the new youtube but I'm forced to use it because there's no real good alternative to it.

I have that as well on my account for uploading osu! maps I did that are anime openings. It really sucks that the restrictions stop the 15 minute exceeding, but nothing we can do for 6 months. Hopefully it won't effect much advertising.

Make sure you back them up, before removal.
Yeah youtube is getting more and more harder to enjoy by the day. Every time a copyright holder screams money and lawsuit, a user is punished and when we try to explain ourselves, they never listen to us.

Let me explain why you were infringed upon, the commercial you had up was for a squaresoft commercial. Since that time as we all know squaresoft merged with enix and became square enix. Since that happened square enix and it's lawyer and copyright associates have sued anyone with even the slightest bit of use of their content right away. The most famous case of this were the people making the 3D remake of chrono trigger a few years back. And as for this 15 minute limit, that really doesnt work for me since I have uploaded quite a bit of playthroughs that last a long time and i'm not gonna cut up videos and waste room to satisfy youtubes copyright laws.

I know all about youtube and its copyright bs. If you have any trouble anyone feel free to message me and I'll see if I can help you out or point you in the right way. But the sad fact is A unless you are parented with a fairly strong company you have 0 power to do anything at all.
your choice is to fight the strike saying you own the rights etc etc but they will automatically re strike your video saying we don't care basically and from their you have no choice or any other things you can do. Also the strikes are automated on youtube even if the owner gives you the right you still get striked I know youtuber that post minecraft (the owner says anyone is allowed to use minecraft videos of any kind for w/e purpose) still get striked I know people that work with company's such as Sega and Nintendo that let them do review videos even ask them to and send them a free copy of the game saying please do a review you are allowed and their videos are taken down and the company's themselves can't even do anything about it some times cuz its on youtube and well theirs like 2 people that have no idea what their doing that in charge of the billions of cases on a weekly basis of this matter.....

Yes your strike does go away you can either A win the case and it will be taken down.
Or B say yes I stole this sorry and remove the video and in time (30days I believe is what it was or used to be) it will go away unless you get another strike for another reason so tbh I wouldn't take them down because even any video game you have on vizzed they can still strike lets say you posted a Zelda game and the owner of one of the songs flags it for it it will be taken down. The only real company's that go after people are the music ones and like 2 others that aren't game related so you shouldn't run into them. But like I said 9/10 times it just youtube automatic system and their is nothing at all you can do about it...

Sorry but yea I wouldn't take anything down cuz well everything has a good chance of getting striked anyways. So unless you just stop posting anything you will get in trouble....

and the whole waiting till you in $ trouble to do it I think is a poor idea from the understand of youtube because A you don't make that much in youtube really vizzed I love the site and all but your youtube channel isn't big by any means. And the only thing that really helps is being parented and with a good company like maker or such. So if you ever wanted to go in to youtube land (its only getting harder and worse) you should go all the way its just the safest way about it. Because their is no real laws just who ever has the bigger stick lol..... A great e.G. Of that is one of the mega youtubers(wont say who) did a review of a game he was allowed to do all things fair and square but reviewed it (honestly) and it was 100% broken mess garage.. And yet steam and value was pushing it as a must own and was selling like hot cakes even though it was a buggy broken game... well hes 15million view video in one day was taken down with in the week because it was higher on the search list for the game and was negative... yea.. Company's *cough (Sega) cough* basically googled their game and anything that was put out not by them they took down for the hell of it. Now smaller channels just well get deleted cuz nothing you can do you just lose... but mega star that he is basically nuked Sega by posted a video about what any why their were doing and said f them and don't help them... later that same week Sega send him a WE ARE SORRY LETTER.. Its all about who has the bigger stick no real laws....
sucks but how it works... so unless you want to well go to court real court over every single one (which btw win or lose you get the strike anyways as if you were the loser so the company can delete your youtube channel before you even go to court and win..... so in the end they win no matter what.) well I've rambled enough if you have any more questions feel free to ask me I know way to much about youtube and how its ruined a lot of things for me...

Have you consider trying  dailymotion.com??    site just like youtube, but I'm not sure if they have hassles or annoying stuff like youtube does.  But that sucks youtube put a strike against you for a commerical (rolls my eyes). I even read a story from IGN saying that alot game companies going after gamers,  posting gameplay videos  even on the newest games that comes out.

Now I know why I when I upload my videos to Fizzed it gets rejected for saying too long of a video

I've come up with a solution. I'm currently in the process of downloading all the commercials from the Vizzed YouTube account and I will be removing the commercials once I'm done. What I'm going to do is make a separate YouTube account for commercials, that way if a commercial gets a strike again, it wont affect my main account. The other benefit of doing this is it'll help keep the videos more organized because the current account would than be dedicated to just gameplay videos.

So here's a breakdown of all the Vizzed YouTube accounts:
Vizzed Gameplay Videos (the current channel would be renamed to this)
Vizzed Video Game Music (a future channel dedicated to just game music)
Vizzed Video Game Commercials (a future channel that the commercials would be moved to)
Vizzed (a possible channel dedicated to competitions, tournaments and events)
David Auchampach (my current personal channel used for things I make or record)

terrorrizin :
ruesen : I've actually got another solution. Refer to the above.

Zlinqx : Even though YouTube is going down hill, it's still the best out there.

megamanmaniac : I'm actually going to sorta do something like that. Refer to above.

koraza : Yeah that's the way it is with Google in general, everything is automated and it seems like it's impossible to contact a staff member and it's unlikely that anyone reviews any of these strikes. They're very understaffed which is pathetic considering the billions the company rakes in.

I think I'll just have to take a YouTube course on Lynda.com so that I know the rules of YouTube better and can learn how to gain more success with it.

Davideo7 : I wish you the best of luck with anything that you do with it and just saying you can know all the rules and not break one and stuff will still get auto shut down so just don't get like crushed or surprised if you want a great e.G. I can show you what happen to a guy that honestly didn't break anything tried to figure it out used all the power of maker to just get a straight answer and then what youtube said was something he in no way broke at all and it was basically just a big bs thing... tbh you should be lucky cuz smaller channels as much as they have 0 power... your less likely found cuz company's such as Sega before and some music one will honestly sit on youtube and Google searching stuff and just take down what ever the biggest video is with the most views (aka whatever will make them the most $ cut and dry) but again good luck with it I hope it all works out at the end of the day with youtube and Google all you have is luck

Usually when someone makes a copyright claim on one of my videos, if it's legit, I just succumb to the claim (meaning I can't make money on that video anymore) but it's better than dealing with a strike. Did you not have the opportunity to confirm their claim?

Jordanv78 : I don't believe I had any opportunity to do anything, I was just given a strike. I wish they would've allowed me to just remove the video.

Davideo7 : That's weird. Usually I get a message saying that (so and so) is making a claim on my content and I can either deny or acknowledge it. If I acknowledge it, It just means I can't monetize it.

Jordanv78 : There have been videos that I haven't been able to monetize for various reasons so that's probably what you're thinking of. This incident is a different one all together where a company actually made a copyright claim themselves and this case, that company being 'EMI Records Japan'.
