I'm sure everyone can think of at least one. A game that is just so painfully bad, you'd rather turn off the console, put the cartridge/disc back in the box, and never look at it again. But for some reason, something in the game makes you want to keep playing it, makes you want to keep on punishing yourself. You don't know why, but you keep on going. Have you ever played a game like that?

Because I did. It's called 'The Getaway' for the Playstation 2. It's a semi-open world game where you have to do a couple of favors for a ruthless mob boss. And, boy, is it a terrible game. But somehow I couldn't bring it in myself to stop playing it.

For me its Mega Man 8. The voices in the game are horrible. If anybody has played Mega Man 8 you know what I mean. The only three decent voices in the game were Bass, Dr. Wily and Duo. The horrible voice acting makes one just want to mute the whole game. However, I find myself playing it. The graphics are very good. I also find the music to be very good as most Mega Man games have very good music. The plot is not too bad.

It's Tetris for me. I know it's a complete waste of time and that I'll lose eventually every time I start a new game. However, I can't stop playing it. I'll automatically open it in a tab when I'm bored, often without thinking.

There are much better ways to waste time than playing tetris, but I know I play an average of 6 hours of Tetris a week.

Sim City was really frustrating when I was small. I didn't understand anything about Population back then, so I tried again and again and again but my town never grew. I never gave up though, and I was addicted for a few weeks.

When I was young, I remember I played Indiana Jones and the infernal machine demo that my dad downloaded.

I got stuck literally on the beginning of the game. I had no clue what I'm suppose to do and I spent so much time just walking around in that room. My dad had no idea what to do, even my cousins who came over one time had no idea what to do. I guess you can say the game was kind of bad on that aspect. I also remember the controls being quite bad. None of that stopped me from playing and playing and just walking around and pressing on every button on the keyboard, I guess the curiosity made me go on.

By the way, I just watched a video on youtube, all I had to do was push a box so I can get to a ledge

Oh man, for me it's World of Warcraft. WoW is one of those games that I literally cannot pick up without dedicating the next 3 hours of my time to dungeons and raids.

It might be slightly unhealthy at this point. Although I haven't played in a while, but that's mainly because if I do click that golden 'W', there's no coming back.

Bloons TD 5. It's really the only TD I like but I still get frustrated in the later parts of the game. It just lags so much late game!

A game so bad....but yet I still play it...(I know I am going to get criticized for this)

E.T. on the Atari. My mother and I agree that is a frustrating game. The Critic in me says its extremely horrible. But the gamer in me says it's not that bad. YET, I still play it and get easily addicted to it every time I play it.....

OrdannonsX :

The Getaway, huh? I tried it only once years ago and could not get into it since I thought GTAIII and Vice city felt so much more superior. It was actually that good? Maybe I underestimated it.

Brigand : No. It's terrible, don't bother with it. xD

The thing that got me hooked on it the most was probably the real car brands, and its feeling of realism. But GTA III and Vice City are easily better, in just about every way possible.

I don't remember the name of the game but it was either a Summer Olympics game or Track and Field or something like that.  It was made for the dreamcast and had multiple events.  The entire game was basically just how fast you can press buttons, but me and my buddy got addicted.  We would mash the controller till it was painful trying to beat each others records.

OrdannonsX :

Aww, man... I thought there should have been some pay off since you could not shoot random pedestrians. But sure, the story sounded good enough and I also remember that there were these crappy British cars... But then again, I only played the first few missions since it was not my game back then. Now I guess you could get it for two euros.

For me? I used to play this horribly crappy game called Dream World. No, not the Pokemon thing, but some Facebook game that I didn't even play on Facebook. And it's not even Flash, so it's the most easily hackable game I've ever played (I've hacked it so I've fought level 100 players in pvp at level 60, I've also hacked to see beta elements) What's so boring about it? All you do once you level up a bit (level 70+?): Press the '[' key (which is a shortcut to a skill) and hold 's' (which uses the skill). When you run out of skill points, you press 1 (which uses your item in slot 1, usually a skill point refill) and hold 's' again. It also has a dumb gimmick for money: Premium items (Which is common), and an energy bar that prevents you from playing anymore for 18+ hours that requires premium items to refill if you wish to continue playing. Dumb, eh?

Chindogu : Yup, Bloons TD 5 is pretty addictive even though it's not really that good... For me, on Medium and Hard mode it starts out a bit tough, but once you get to around wave 80, it gets ridiculously easy since you are then able to get some of the strongest towers. The only challenge is the lag... blech. One time I got to about level 120 on Easy on the first level when I got annoyed by the lag and gave up... still no challenge.

BUT, maybe it's just my strategy. At the start, I get a few Ninja Monkeys and upgrade them until they can handle a couple more rounds on their own, then I buy about 4 banana farms and upgrade them. You can get 12,000 cash PER ROUND once they're upgraded enough. And one time I got bored and got about 8 banana farms... 24,000 cash per round, my friend.
