Hello, I need some help on something. I found out that you can play games on Windows 8, but I try this on my Surface computer and it's not letting me.

Can you explain this to me? I'm confused. Thank you

Yeah but every time I try to find something it will tell me that this app can't run on your PC.

stargirl235 : I'm not 100% sure about this. Even though documentation says that it allows you to install any app from the web, I'm not sure what format that app has to be made in.

Anyone that has tried to run this program from surface, has had an issue with regards to running it.

I know that users running Internet Explorer and the most recent update of Win8 have experienced problems with regards to running the RGR plugin.

stargirl235 : I'm not saying it's impossible, but I'm saying I don't know any user that's been able to successfully do so. I have another user experiencing the same problem with a surface and I have yet to find a result.

You could try un-installing then re-installing, but when installing, you have to make sure that the browser instance is CLOSED on your Surface (kill the process or something similar to make sure it's not running in the background)

You could also download and run chrome to see if you have different results. If not, there's not a whole lot else we can suggest unless we can find another user that has successfully gotten it to run on surface. (Which I doubt)

You could use the Java emulators on the site instead, which only require updated Java to run...although there are only a few systems that are supported by Java emulators.

we could ask...who might be the only person on the site that knows a suggestion.

I'm pretty sure that you should be able to use the Plugin on a Surface tablet.

Have you already tried a different web browser, such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome?

I tried to do that. I tried Google Chrome it didn't work. Same with the Fire fox, won't work on my Surface.

Did you reinstall the plugin after you installed Firefox and chrome?
They might be handled incorrectly by either browser if you didn't.

stargirl235 : I talked to a member that just recently got it to work with Surface.

They stated that they just had to download Chrome, then install the plugin (Make sure, as I said before to have your browser CLOSED when installing) Then from there they said they had to tell chrome to allow Vizzed to run on it.

vanelan : Well I did try many things. I have the Windows RT 8.1 update, if that helps I don't know.

I also have noticed some issues in chrome on my windows 7 pc, but they are intermittent.

After you close the browser (assuming you're using Chrome), open your Task Manager with Ctrl + Shift + Esc. On the Processes tab, look for any instances of Chrome.exe and end that process, if there are none then Chrome isn't running.

I think what we are saying in this thread is that you need Chrome for the Plugin to work.

Something about the latest update changed how plugins are handled, so the RGR plug-in doesn't show as installed for IE.

Chrome and Firefox are confirmed as working, so if you were you use one of those, reinstall the plug-in after installing firefox or chrome, they should work.

Unfortunately I don't have much experience with Windows RT, so I'm not certain on this but it seems that Windows RT won't allow either Firefox or Chrome to be installed.

I'm sure there is a way, but I'm sorry I don't know. It also seems like the Plugin is not going to work in the latest Internet Explorer either, but I haven't had much time to look into that.
