There are definitely different opinions on whether a video game is good or bad.
What I want to know is what video games or what video game series should never have been made and why.

Because Banjo Kazooie and Tooie were a big part of my childhood seeing the new Banjo Kazooie Nuts n Bolts just killed it for me.

The only thing I like in the game is traveling around the main city. Making a platform game into a racing game isn't the best idea in my opinion.
Although the idea of making vehicles from scratch wasn't bad. But, having to guess and not knowing if it was going to work properly was just annoying.

Dr. Mario was such a weird game...it's just much much different than what a normal Mario game would possibly.

Yes, there's the classic RPG/Adventure Mario game, and then there's also the racing type Mario game...but a Tetris-like Mario game?

I guess for fans of both Tetris and Mario may like this game, but it's just unusual and unorthodox for a Mario game in my opinion. 

Just a strange game in my opinion. 

Not a fan of it, and to be pretty honest, I don't think it should have ever been made.

I completely agree with you, it's exactly like all those Mario Learning games they made like Mario Time Machine, Mario Teaches Typing, etc.
Dr. Mario like you said is a worse version of Tetris with Mario.

Sidewinder : I can understand if you don't really like Dr. Mario, but I don't understand your complaints regarding it. At the time Puzzle games were experiencing a BIG boom in popularity.

I mean Mario was in a TON of games. Were you against him being in sports games? What about the puzzle games with Yoshi and Wario that came out later? So in that instance, I don't really understand what you are saying.

I guess I don't have specific games that shouldn't have been made to mention other than the obvious ones that people complain about all the time. The Atari 2600 version of Pacman comes to mind...Why make such a cruddy port of an amazing game?? But we all already know the answer to that question to make $$.

What I will say, is that if companies are going to make remakes/reboots of classics. They need to understand their fanbase. I hate it when a company remakes a GREAT beloved 2D classic and doesn't have the guts to make it fully 2D...instead trying to do this 2.5D crud. Remakes of Rocket Knight Adventures and Bionic Commando come to mind. Capcom on the other hand did a GREAT job of this when they made the New MegaMan 8 and 9 titles. I wish more companies would do that.

Jordanv78 : I understand what you're saying about Dr. Mario, I will admit that at the time companies were still only developing/learning because Video Games weren't per say new but weren't as popular. I wasn't aware of Yoshi and Wario making puzzle games, sorry I did not include it in my comment. You have a point as well about Dr. Mario being in other games. Though when you say it was mostly for $$ I have to disagree (unless you're talking about one company in particular). Now a days I agree that it's all about $$ but, back then they actually had better content and took time to make it e.g (Super Mario64, LOZ-OOT, LOZ-MM, etc) they even put a lot of time to make the music (The Moon in Duck Tales is a good example).

tenshi3842 : You didn't read my post properly. I suggest re-reading it. I said they made the Atari 2600 port of PacMan and released it even though they KNEW it was horrible because they wanted to cash in on PacMan's popularity.

Games were hugely popular back then. What I was saying was that they used Mario as a vehicle to sell lots of games back then because he was one of the most recognize-able video game characters...just like he is now.

Well, I can see not liking, or even hating a game, but I don't understand saying it shouldn't have been made. My take on it has always been that if I don't like a game, I won't play it. If I don't play it, then it existing won't bother me any. Kind of a "live and let live" thing, only with games. I can't stand Final Fantasy games, but many people do. So many games that are hated by many, are loved by some. For example, I actually enjoyed Dr. Jekkyl and Mr. Hyde. Weird, I know. lol

Anyway, if I may just list a game I dislike, rather than a game I wish hadn't been made, then I'll go with Yoshi's Cookie (Jordan's posts here made me think of that one). That one bored me pretty badly.

I might anger some people, (Sonic fans) but I think Sonic Riders Zero Gravity should never exist.

Probably Superman 64. It was such a difficult and angering game.
It had difficult controls and you almost always had to go through rings and you couldn't miss more than 4 rings, I think.
Also, if the game wasn't frustrating enough, you were always timed.

Hmm Hard choices, I would Say a game i really wish didn't Exist Is Ninja Gaiden 3. It was terrible as a Ninja Gaiden game it was basically designed for the Ps3 to show off the PlayStation move which i refuse to buy.
also Every Call of duty after 4. That game is Cancer to the gaming world. it makes other games Strive to be it instead of creating something new and its fan-base is really Bad.

Karate Champ, I hate the controls on that game.  I could never get the guy to do anything cool.  I erase that from history.  Hopefully we still get SFII!!

ET, and Superman 64. They call themselves "video games" when they're really just failures.

taterii : Not sure if you've ever owned/played, well it's hard to say played because it wasn't really a game but, E.T : Digital Companion. That thing was really a rip off. In my opinion it was pretty useless and a waste of money well unless you're a collector. But that killed the not so good E.T game streak for me.

DrNerdgasmThat game was so annoying, it's one of the only N64 games I owned that I just couldn't complete. I would've easily been able to beat it if it wasn't for that stupid timer always running out. It's the kind of game that if you make one mistake you're kind of screwed and sometimes even if you make none the timer will run out cause your going to slow trying to avoid mistakes.

thedoctr I've played Call of Duty MW , MW2 , MW3 and Black Ops and I have to agree, they're all almost the same but with different controls, guns, maps, add ons and story lines. Though I have to admit I loved the Black Ops story line, online gets boring fast because well it's always the same maps over and over with different guns. And as for other games following it, don't hate me for saying this but, I was kind of disappointed in Battlefield 3 it kinda seemed like a different version of Call of Duty (though I'm not an expert in FPS). The new Battlefield coming out however, looks like it's going to be amazing, can't wait to try it.

tenshi3842 : I would have to say that Sonic Labyrinth ruined Sonic for me a little because Sonic is those fast games but sonic labyrinth just killed it cuz it was so slow!!!! Sonic ran like a real hedgegog!

The only story we get is with two kids. A Brother and Sister who ... May have the hots for one another?
You got to be kidding me.
The thing is a grand let down.
