Ah, if you guys haven't realized! I have barely anything to review on the whole entire vizzed board! You know what I mean! I have reviewed GBA games, SNES games, Genesis games, N64 games, NES games, and so on! The actual problem is that I can't find any more interesting games to review on the said consoles! Everything I can and could review is all done! So that brings us up to the other side of vizzed, The video game room beta, Here you can look at GC PS2 XBOX WII PS3 360 And all other current generation games today! So this game I am reviewing today is my first modern review on the site! What is this game you ask? Well guys, you will find out, This is Despicable me for the PlayStation 2!

Story-7/10
Despicable me tells the story of a very experienced super villain by the name of gru, Gru is as bad as you can get for a super villain of this day! He is mean, cruel, and just downright despicable! He has officially met his match though when one day he has discovered the pyramid of giza has been stolen by another super villain of the same state and game! Who is this mastermind? This guy is vector Perkins! So anyways, Gru then wants to plan an even bigger heist then before! He wants to steal the moon! How will he do this though? He will have to adventure through various vast levels gathering up the pieces for the actual ship itself! So anyways, It is now your job to help gru achieve his goal and outsmart his enemy vector!

Gameplay-7/10
In this action adventure side scroller game, You take the role of our hero gru, As you control him through more then 10 big levels destroying baddies, solving puzzles, and doing all sorts of despicable stuff! The controls are pretty simple, You use the left analog stick to move, You use the D-pad to cycle through your weapons, You use the X button to jump, And you press the Square button to fire your weapons. Now let's get to the actual gameplay shall we? Each level in this game is composed of four different kinds of levels, There are the basic platforming levels where you get our fellow hero gru from the start of the level to the end without getting killed or injured along the way, There are the minion puzzle rooms where you command your wacky minions to help you solve devious puzzles, There are these despicable vandalizing rooms where you can destroy paintings and zap other people in order to gain "Despicable" points, and last but not least, There are flying levels where you fly through the skies taking down all the other enemy ships.?Each different level has It's very own certain charm to It, For example, the minion puzzle rooms offer some time and thinking in order to pass them, The despicable vandazling rooms execute the movie's humor very well, and so on! There are three distinct locations to visit throughout the game, There is gru's lab, There is the bank of evil, and there is Vector perkin's fortress! Each world has about 3-4 distinct levels to them, Except I have one problem! You barely spend any time in gru's lab through the game! Most of the game will have you adventuring through bank of evil and vector's fortress, But It is no big problem though! Gru has alot of cool and despicable gadgets to use as well! And these include the air gun which will blow away any obstacles that stand in front of gru, There is the magnet gun that will let gru electrify enemies, The freeze gun that lets gru freeze enemies in their tracks, and so on! Anyways, That is It for the gameplay!

Graphics-7/10
This game was a very very late PS2 title, And for what It is worth, It doesn't look too bad to be honest! I mean, you got to give the developers credit! The game does capture the very spyish and cartoony feel of the movie! And that is a huge plus when making?a movie game! Make It feel like the source material! So anyways, The game looks good and all, From the main menus to the worlds and such, There are three worlds in the game, There is gru's lab which is big vast and actually very very blue when you look at It from a distance! There is the bank of evil which is very red and offers plenty of robots and such, And there is vector's fortress which is an underwater lair of trouble challenge and everything else! Now to the actual characters, they look very good! Gru looks like he did in the movie, Except he is always wearing that gray sweater of his instead of the black coat he wore in the movie, Dr nefario is his trusty sidekick, and the minions are gru's yellow pellet like creatures that do all of gru's daily bidding. You can unlock some extra costumes for gru and the minions, Like gru can wear a doctor's suit, a Jamaican suit, And the minions can dress up as ninjas, townsfolk, and all sorts of crazy stuff! The backgrounds in each level has quite alot going on, But It gets A LITTLE repetitive seeing everything loop, But It is not that much to complain about!

Sound-8/10
Upon starting the game, You are greeted with a very cool yet plain looking title screen, And guess what Is playing! That is right! The developers actually got the despicable me theme song into this game! And the song sounds just like It did in the actual movie! Now for the actual in-game soundtrack though! It is pretty catchy and up-beat to be honest! It sounds like something you would hear from the movie, and that is good! But anyways, Each of the three levels in the game all have different songs depending on what happens, There is the normal stage music, There is the death music, and there is the minion puzzle room music, Must noticeably the minion puzzle room songs actually help me concentrate on the actual puzzles themselves! And that is good, The despicable vandalizing room has a very rememberable instrumental version of the despicable me theme song, and That is amazing to hear! Now for the actual sound effects, They are there, You have your weapon sound effects when you fire them, You get zaps, blows, freezes, and so on! Now to the voice acting, Steve carrell does voice gru here! And so do dr nefario and vector's voice actors! Anyways, That is It for the sound!

Addictiveness-7/10
This game offers plenty of fun to be had, And here are some fun things about the game! The first part are the actual puzzles themselves! Each puzzle you will be solving in the game offers plenty of timing to solve, and that is good. Second, It is just controlling gru! I don't know why, But I actually really like gru! He is incredibly agile and doesn't really have any trouble moving at all! He is just a really cool guy, And so you know why I personally think this game is fun to me! I still play this game sometimes just to replay some of the puzzles! They are just fun I tell you!

Depth-7/10
For a game like this, There is actually plenty of things to do in this game! First let's start off with the length! The game is about 3 worlds long, and there are actually 11 levels in the whole game, So this game will take you most likely a good 1-3 hours to finish, and there are tons of costumes of collect for gru and the minions! About 10 to be excact, so be prepared! It is not that likely that a game like this has tons of things to do as much as this!

Difficulty-7/10
The game itself has one very very high point, And It would have to be the difficulty level! Most of the puzzles in this game are really really hard! Actually so hard that you barely will have any hint cards left to complete the last few ones! And this game is also a one hit death game, no health bar! So one little hit, and you are automatically sent back to your last checkpoint, It is even worse in minion puzzle rooms, as the puzzles take very long to master and complete! Now the game is for kids, And I think this game offers just enough challenge to be enjoyed!

I personally think that this was a wonderful movie tie-in game for start to finish! I gave this game a 7.5 because It is fun, challenging, and offers just enough stuff for the target audience to enjoy It!
