Hello everyone and welcome to another walkthrough. Ok, I'll be short. It was summer.  I was away for a long period of time and I had to find a short game to play in order to make the walkthrough of August. I got an idea: "Why shouldn't I play Castlevania on NES?". And then, I played it and wanted to make a walkthrough. So here it is. The walkthrough of Castlevania on NES. I'm a fan of the Castlevania universe so you can expect more walkthroughs of  Castlevania. Well, I think that's all I have to say... ah yes, I wrote all the secrets I know, there's probably more, I haven't found all the secrets to be honest so I assume I passed by some of them accidentally. Anyway, let's start that walkthrough without wasting anymore time. Welcome to Castlevania.

LEVEL 1

Break the torches to get some goodies and enter the castle of Count Dracula. Here starts the adventure... and the troubles. You have to make your progress to the next door, which is a checkpoint. Also, destroy as many candlesticks as you can in order to get lot of stuff. And obviously, kill the enemies on your way. It's the welcoming committee after all ha ha. In the next part, break the wall to the right to get a pot roast and recover some health then go downstairs.

Welcome to the sewers of the castle. That means aquatics enemies and lot of water. Water means instant death because poor Simon didn't learn how to swim. Ok, that stupid joke has been made, we can carry on. Make your progress to the next staircases. You'll see a platform down below. It's a secret or how to get 1000 points. First go to the platform, break the end of the previous platform and go down. Wait a few seconds and a bag will appear. Take it and you'll get 1000 points. Now go up, and open the next door.

This is the last part of the first level. More ghouls await you. One of the candlesticks has the axe. Take it, you'll need that for the boss fight. Make your progress until you see a creature hanging on the ceiling. This is the giant bat, the first boss (1). There's a secret item named "II" that you can get if you break the tile of the first platform. You will be able to throw two axes at the time with this bonus. Now, how to beat the boss? Use the axe to get rid of the giant bat. Grab the red sphere to end the first level.

LEVEL 2

Break the candlesticks to get the cross and some hearts, then the wall to the right at the top of the first staircases, go in the hole and get the crown that just appeared. That's 2000 points for you and another secret found. Now go up, kill the two enemies and carry on. Kill the bat, break the tile nearby the knight to get the bonus "II" and carry on. This part is a bit annoying because you will encounter the worst enemy of the Castlevania universe: the medusa heads. The first part is not really tough, there's no holes. However, the second part has some holes and that is going to be a challenge. At one point, the medusa heads won't appear anymore because there will be some knights. You see the little platform between the two knights? Break the tile to get a pot roast. Now go to the left and open the next door. Break the tile to get another pot roast, avoid the deathtraps, kill the bat and break the tile to find a bonus "II". Carry on, get rid of the head pillars, go up and go to the left and prepare yourself for the next boss fight: the medusa. If you have the holy water, this fight will be a piece of cake. Mixed with the bonus "II", I can tell you that she won't resist so long. Just spam the holy water to stun your enemy and it should be ok. Grab the orb to proceed to the next level.

LEVEL 3

Kill the fleamen, destroy the last platform to get a pot roast and go up. Kill the crows and the skeletons, open the doors, kill the medusas heads and go up. See the spot with the platform underneath? Crouch here and go back to the left. There's 1000 points for you. Carry on, open the door, make your progress until you face the mummies. Yes, yes, you heard me, not one but TWO mummies! (2) There's a technique to beat them easily: go between the two mummies, then go back on the platform to the left, let the mummy join its brother, step on the little platform crouch and strike. Go back on the other platform when they come back and repeat that method until they die. Grab the orb and get ready for the exploration of the catacombs.

LEVEL 4

Personnally, I don't like this level for some reasons. First, the enemies are sometimes unpredictable. The water doesn't make the things easier. Mix both of these things and you'll get the gimmick of this level. Do not worry, there's some stairs at the end of the catacombs. Once you are back to the surface, keep moving forward, go underneath the skull dragon and open the door. Kill the two skull dragons, destroy both of the tiles to get a pot roast and a big heart, carry on and face Frankenstein. I'm not kidding, it's that monster accompagned by his only friend, the fleaman (3). This boss might be a pain in the butt because the fleaman will throw some projectiles at you from his butt (yeah, it's disgusting). You can stun the fleaman but you must focus on Frankenstein during this battle. Avoid the shots and the fleaman and hit the Frankenstein ith your whip or the holy water. After a couple of hits, he will die and you could grab the orb.

LEVEL 5

Right at the beginning, kill the two fleamen and carry on. Go up, kill the skeletons, go up, kill the next enemies and carry on. This level introduce the blood skeletons, an enemy that you can't kill, you can only stun them. After a couple of enemies, you will come to a laboratory. Here you can get a bonus "III" and a pot roast if you break some of the walls upstairs and downstairs. Carry on, kill the knights upstairs (and the medusa heads, whoopee we missed them... not really to be honest ) and prepare to face Death. If you have the holy water at this point, this fight should be easy. You just have to spam the holy water in order to kill your opponent. If you don't have that item, well you can still beat Death but it's going to be tough. Focus on your opponent, get rid of the scythes if necessary and hit Death with your best shots errr hits. The cross that you find during this section might be useful to hit the scythes and Death. And with a bit of luck, the cross could hit four times your enemy instead of twice. Once Death is dead (I know, it's nonsense, oh well ), you can get the orb and proceed to the final level.

LEVEL 6

Time to face the Count himself. However, the enemies don't agree with your act and will try to stop you during your progress. Cross the bridge, enter the clocktower, kill the skeletons and go up. Kill more skeletons, go down the gears and destroy the wall to get a pot roast.  Go down, then go up the staircases to the left, break the tile to get a bonus "II" and go to the next screen.

Go up the staircases, take the goodies and get ready for the final showdown. Dracula has two forms. Both of the forms are easy hen you know the technique. During the first form, jump over the shots and use the whip to hit the head of Count Dracula. Repeat that eleven times and Dracula will turn into a giant monster. This is the second and last form. He is tougher than the first time. Use the cross and the whip to hit the head. Jump over the shots as always and sneak behind Dracula when he does a big jump. Most of the time, he will do small jumps. Do not attempt to sneak behind him when he does that kind of jump, do that when he goes high, really high. Every two hits, he will lose one hit point, that means you have to hit thje head twenty-four times. Yes, you heard me, 24. Take a deep breath, it's the final showdown. Your reward will be the final orb and a sweet victory. Congratulations, you beat the Lord of Darkness and Castlevania.

That's all folks. I meet you in the next alkthrough. Bye and take care of yourself
