If you guys remember correctly, The last ever pirate game I reviewed on vizzed was Somari for the NES, It was a rather interesting pirate, In which you play as Mario in sonic's world, Now today I got another pirate for you guys, and this one is quite an interesting one in my opinion, It is for the Sega genesis, And It is Super donkey Kong 99, A genesis pirate of donkey Kong, Will this be a good one? Let's find out!

Story-6/10
When it comes to pirate games, It is really hard to tell what the story of it is, But when It comes to this one, I'll just make up my own story, The story behind this game is that our hero Donkey Kong is taking  along nap over at his pad, but then He wakes up later to discover that his buddy diddy Kong has been captured by K rool! It is now up to you to help Donkey Kong free his buddy.

Gameplay-7/10
In this pirate, you take the role of Donkey Kong, as you adventure through more then 5 big levels defeating bad guys, collecting bananas, and doing a bunch of other stuff. The first thing you will notice, since diddy is captured, you will only get to play as Donkey Kong here! Second off, most of the elements from the original Donkey Kong country titles are missing from this game, and those things are special stages, and those big circular DK tokens. But anyways, as donkey Kong you will battling a bunch of enemies, such as bees, kremlins, etc. The controls are pretty simple, A is jump, B is pick up stuff, And I don't think C does anything at all. There are some bosses that you must fight in the game, such as K rool, and some other unnameable bosses, But they only appear every once in a while, Like they don't appear in every level. Items in your quest include DK balloons which give you an extra life, Bananas which add to your current score, and a bunch of other stuff. Anyways, that is it for the gameplay.

Graphics-8/10
I will give the developers so credit here, the graphics in this game are actually pretty good for a pirate game! All the levels that you will be exploring are big, huge, and bursting with color. As for the characters, they look pretty good as well, Donkey Kong looks like himself, K rool looks like himself, and so on. Most of the levels in this game are taken from Donkey Kong country 1 and Donkey Kong country 3, like the first level in the game! The hud is pretty self explanatory, It shows how many lives you have left and how much bananas you have collected in the whole game.

Sound-7/10
The sound in this game is believe it or not, One of my favorite parts of the game! All the songs in each level fit the moods of each level perfectly, and believe it or not, The first level of this game uses the Super Mario all stars bonus stage theme! And they remastered It perfectly, Nothing that there is anything wrong with It though. As for the actual sound effects, they are pretty average as well, You get a bunch of 16 bit beeps, booms, and the best part, when you kill a bee or whatnot, The bee makes a girly high pitched scream! I swear to god the first time I heard that I just spit out my milk!  Very nice job developers, you never fail to impress me.

Is this a game I am going to play again? Um sure it is! I remember having alot of fun with it the first time I ever played it, And I still play this game for fun everytime I am bored. The game has alot of charm and It shows It very frequently. Except there are some levels here and there that gave me trouble, but nothing much.

Depth-5/10
How much does this game offer for you after you beat it? Um to be honest, there is not really much to do, I mean you beat this game once and you just leave it alone forever, By the way, the game is about 5-10 levels long, so It should probably take you 2 hours to dash through the whole thing.

Difficulty-6/10
If you are a gamer like me, Then the game should not give you that much trouble, But if you are a novice gamer, then the game will take alot and I tell you ALOT of time to get used to. I remember getting stuck on level 3 because how many enemies they throw at you, But the later levels aren't that hard.

Overall-6.9/10
So you are probably thinking, What is your personal opinion on this pirate red? So I will just tell you, I think the game is very very good for a pirate game, While It still has It's flaws here and there, It's still pretty fun!
