Here's a review by IB122, this review is on Super Mario Bros. 2 (U.S.), in this game, this isn't that bad and I know this game and Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan) created a lot of confusion with the titles and the Japanese though that Super Mario Bros. 2 was a little too difficult to be played by none-Japanese people and instead, we got a game from Yume K?j?: Doki Doki Panic, just replace the playable characters as Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Peach and boom, you got Super Mario Bros. 2 (U.S.).

The Graphics:
The Graphics isn't the greatest in the game, but it's alright for the NES, although some parts do get a little glitchy and a little flickering here and there so it's hard to defeat an enemy. For other parts for the game, it's all pretty nice like the background and foreground is pretty great for the NES. Some of the veggies you pull out from the ground is also great as well and the enemies looks really good, but the mini-bosses in each world and Wart looks really great. For the character spites, they look pretty good for the NES, although some of the playable character's are a little bit off but this being an NES version it's seem pretty ok.

I give this a 7 out of 10.

------

The Sound/Music:
The Music in this game isn't bad but the only thing is that they're 4 different songs on here (Overworld, cave/vase/fort, boss battle, and Wart's battle) and I think more should of been added into this game, although even with 4 songs, they all sound pretty impressive though. As for the sound, the sound effects are pretty alright to, like jumping, picking up stuff, climbing, and all that, although some sound effects does found a little off like the picking stuff up and throwing, so the game don't have the best sounds effects.

I give this a 6 out of 10

------

The Addictiveness:
This game is pretty addicting even with the graphics and Sound / Music, I've been playing this game for a long time (since around 2000) and I first started this game on the All-Stars release and when I was searching this game and I played this game on a different site (before I came to Vizzed and played it) and it was pretty good to play, and even know this ain't as addicting as Super Mario Bros. 1 or 3, but I can say, this is a pretty addicting game nonetheless.

I give this a 9 out of 10.

------

The Story:
The Story in this game is that this is part of a dream that Mario is having for an adventure in Doki Doki Panic, but the characters are Mario characters instead. What you do is that you fall into Subcon (What the world is called) and you notice that all the creatures have all turned against you all due to Wart who you have to face at the end (Yes, this is the first non-Bowser Mario game), but first, you have to go though 7 worlds in order to face against him, and every world, you have to beat some bosses from Wart's army like Mouser, Tryclyde, and all them. Once you defeat Wart, you can restore Subcon back to normal, but then you realized that all that was from a dream that Mario was dreaming.

I give this a perfect 10 out of 10

------

The Depth:
The Depth is pretty good, you got 7 worlds with a total of 20 levels (3 levels in 6 worlds and 2 in the final level), with 20 of those levels, you got a lot of paths to take because some levels only has one path and other levels got a secret path to take to get to the boss quicker, and in some levels, you got some warp vases (like in the first Super Mario game with the warp pipes). Also in this game, you see a number of enemies make their debut into the series although only one enemy was seen in future games and those were the Shy-Guys. Not just in the levels, you also can choose from 4 different characters to play onto each of those levels so whenever you're at a point that you need another character (like need to get higher or needs faster speed, you can just choose another character in the character select screen.

I give this a 8 out of 10.

------

The Difficulty:

The Difficulty is very hard, even for experience Mario players, some of the levels can be quite difficult to pass the first time so it's going to take a whole lot of practice and patience to beat each of the levels in this game so it's pretty much trial and error when playing in each of them, and the enemies can be all over the place and can cause you to loose a life if you're not careful in some levels, especially the ice world where you can die instantly. It's not just the gameplay, it's also depending on the character you select, some has their advantages and disadvantages like with Luigi, he's can jump a little higher, but his strength isn't that high (slower veggie pulling), and Toad has higher strength but his jumping isn't that good, so it all depends on who you select. So, Super Mario Bros. 2 (U.S.) isn't the most hardest game I've ever played, but it is up there though

I give this a 9 out of 10

------
Overall:

Overall, I'm not why people call this game a rip off from Yume K?j?: Doki Doki Panic, to my mind, I think this is a pretty good game nonetheless, Just think of it that Doki Doki Panic was a Japanese only game and they made this game from that game and just replaced the characters so pretty much, we're playing Doki Doki Panic, but we end up getting the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2 in 1993 with Super Mario All-Stars.

Overall, I give this game a 8.5 out of 10.

Great review! You passed the 1000-word mark! I actually prefer the NES version over the Super Mario All-Stars version. Don't ask why, because I have no explanation. Keep up the great reviewing!
