I already reviewed Donkey Kong country, one of the greatest platformers to grace the SNES. Now! It's time to review the sequel, Donkey Kong country 2: Diddy's Kong quest. You guys know I have a thing for the DKC titles, they're all fun, awesome, challenging platformers, so that's why I'm reviewing them! So onto the review....

Story-9/10
It is a relaxing, sunny day on Donkey Kong Island. Funky is seen surfing and then falling off his board. He asks for Donkey Kong to join him, but Donkey kongs simply continues lounging. Cranky goes up to him and complains how he never took breaks, "Whisking off maidens and throwing barrels seven days a week" but Donkey Kong ignores him, confident that he is a hero and that K rool is gone for good. Cranky soon leaves.Meanwhile, above Captain K Rool, aboard his vessel, The Flying Krock, commands his minions to invade the island and take Donkey Kong captive so that his next attempt at stealing the Banana Hoard won't be a failure like last time. Donkey Kong, still lounging, does not notice the attack until kutlasses ambushed him and took him prisoner.  Captain K Rool assures that he will never see his precious friends again. Back on the island, Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong read a note. At this point, wrinkly, funky, and swanky come. Swanky wants to give up the hoard. Diddy assists Donkey Kong will be mad again. Diddy and Dixie ride to crocodile isle to start their quest.

Gameplay-10/10
The player controls Diddy kong, near unchanged from the previous game, (but given some new animations to adapt to new gameplay elements covered below) and a new character Dixie Kong who replaces Donkey Kong. Diddy retains his cartwheels and agility, however Dixie can whip her ponytail similar to Donkey Kong's roll, and has a very useful ability, she can use her ponytail like a helicopter and lower her falling speed via her ponytail whirl, allowing the kongs to reach farther area then before (Expresso has most likely been removed because of this) Along your journey, you will collect a bunch of items, Such as the KONG letters, Extra life balloons, DK coins, etc. It's your typical stuff.

Graphics-10/10
Oh MAN does the Kong's new adventure look amazing! The levels are bigger, prettier, and just have more depth then the ones in Donkey Kong country 1! Except, if it's one thing I can't get over, it's the DANG porcupine sprite! My first time I saw that thing on my GBA, I just screamed and ran out of my room in fear! Other then that, all the levels are big colorful and just full of depth! A major aspect of the Donkey Kong country series.

Sound-10/10
Aww yeah...another major of the series....THE SOUNDTRACK! All the songs are oh so beautifully done, especially...BRAMBLE BLAST! The bramble blast song has been critically acclaimed as the greatest Donkey Kong country song of all time! I agree! The sound effects are pretty top notch too!

Addictiveness-9/10
This game will keep you pretty busy for a long time, theres alot of stuff to collect and do, for one, there are Donkey kong coins which can gaven to Cranky Kong for something....I forgot though, and there are some new minigames, such as Bag a bug, Diddy's dash, expresso racing, etc.

Depth-9/10
The game has over 8 or so worlds, so the game will probably take you over 2-4 hours to complete at least, granting that you collect as much stuff as you can, the game took me 6 hours...cause I was doing....well yea.....getting as much stuff as I can....

Difficulty-8/10
This game is harder then Donkey Kong country 1, but is that a bad thing? Of course not! You know me, I'm always up for a challenge...and these games are no exception. My personal most challenging level in this game would has to be bramble blast, it is quite a BLAST. (No pun intended) But the music here is so great, yet the level is such a pain!

Overall-10/10
You must buy this game, now. It is one of the greatest platformers you can get on the market as of today! I gave this game a 10 because, well, what else? EVERYTHING it has to offer! Buy it now.
