for me it was regirock in sapphire. it took me forever to catch it....i remember the power went out in my house the minute i caught it xD it was weird.

For me, it was a Beldum. I always try to get into the red zone. then I throw random Poke Balls at it and no matter how much I try, Beldum always comes out. i just gave up and never tried to catch another Beldum again. About a year or so later, I caught a Metang, but that's beside the point .

For me the hardest Pokémon to catch was Mewtwo in Pokémon Yellow, I came into it's cave with a full party with 68 Great balls and came out with 2 Pokémon and 15 great balls.

Mew cuz I was just started the game after I catched all the Pokémon except mew..
And it had take me one hour and half minutes to catch I was loading my game
and reloading it until I catched him with a great ball...
it take me 52 ultra balls and 12 greatball...

well the hardest legendary i tried to catch was mewtwo took me x76 ultra balls x2 timer balls and i wasted 3 hours of my life like that but it was worth it. the hardest reguler pokemon to catch was kangaskhan. i used 67 safari balls on it i had to go to the safari zone three times cost me $1500. i use bait it fled i threw a rock it fled. but i did end up catching it. those are old memories. the easiest was rayquaza took me x1 ultra ball. i also caught a zapdos with a net ball

the hardest pokemon to catch for me was mewto of pokemon fire red I used 89 ultraballs in that battle

 I remember that Nidorina gave me a hard time in the Safari Zone on fire red.

It took me an hour to catch Regigigas in PLatinum. Whose stupid idea was it for the thing to be level 1?! It was impossible! I can't count the number of times I had to reset.

For me personally that award has to go to none-other than Ho-oh in Heart-Gold, I had only prepared to use Timer-Balls ( in which was the only type of balls I brought with me. ) Not only did I have to constantly use my Poliwrath to make go to sleep I had to make sure I didn't hit it by accident. It took me so many timer balls even after I had used like 40 rounds of battle. I mean seriously those balls were nerfed or something or I was just having such an off day. I had to use a lot of potions as well because of the in-accuracy of hypnosis. At least I managed to survive since I had a plethora of X Accuracy, X Def.... and so on. It took me a whole hour and a half to finally get Ho-oh in a timer ball... I really wish Timer balls were as reliable as they were in the third generation. I just stick to ultra-balls and certain specific balls ( The berry ball things ).

The hardest Pokémon for me to catch was a shiny Ditto, it took me 32 Pokeballs. 

Well, I would say that the hardest was Dratini in the Safari Zone, but that's like catching a Pidgey compared to Mewtwo. That thing took 17 tries of constant saving and restarting, and took 12 Ultra Balls when I was finally able to catch it. Whew!

Delano1 : They use to get on my nerves and I wasted so many pokeballs on them, but now that I am more experienced, it seems so easy.


I was trying to catch a level 70 Lugia in a hack yesterday and it was impossible. I put it to sleep and used an ultra ball and of course it didn't work, I wasted 12 ultra balls on it until I finally caught it. Legendary Pokémon are tough, but this was ridiculous!

For an actual game, trying to catch rayquaza in Pokémon emerald was pretty tough for me, I got so upset because of how many times it broke out of the pokeball. But now it seems so easy to do and there is like no challenge to doing it. I guess it was just because I was younger and inexperienced compared to now.

Well, I cheated to get the Azure Flute, and I guess Arceus was the hardest to catch.. It took me over 200 ultra balls, and finally, I used a final master ball to catch it!

The hardest for me to catch as far as pokeballs went was Latios; I think I went through about 40-50 pokeballs of varying types before I caught it. (I used a Gengar with Mean Look, so it was all in one go).

The true hardest pokemon to catch however, was Feebas in generation 3. Who the hey thought it was a good idea to make it only encounter-able on JUST SIX TILES on what was probably the largest route on the game? The worst part was, there was a factor that could change the 6 tiles if you weren't careful. It literally took me months just to FIND one of those 6 spots, and even then the stupid thing was more slippery than it should have been... took like 8 or 9 pokeballs to catch. :/

WarpStarFerret : Mother Of GOD! I remember in Pokemon Diamond i was looking for a feebas for about a month. He's almost impossible to find! worst thing he only stays in one area in the sinnoh region plus it's even harder to look for him in the grass. He's a pest!
