I'm in 10th grade, so I'm in the first year of upper secondary school. Something akin to high school, I think. So far it's been a lot more fun than lower secondary (or junior high, whichever is more clear). I guess it's because school's not compulsory anymore, so the lessons and people are a lot different.

I don't know how this works out in american grades but I am in my 9th year of school. We don't do any of that "if you fail a grade then you stay where you are" sort of thing we just progress as we are so I guess that would work out as 9th grade. 
My 9th year is also the equivalent to my 3rd year in high school so if that helps you work out what grade I am in let me know.
