Yngwie : That is very impressive! Where are you training to get attack EV's? I've tried to the right of Central City, nincada is the only thing that doesn't give attack, and I kill like 200 of them and only get 9 at the most upon leveling.

PickleWeasel:

Hi trust me.. 9-12 is really impressive..
all of my Pokémon on light platinum are only trained with pokerus. This way they get fast EV's at low lv's..
i also trained he's sp.atk before attack.. And he's main stat is attack. So he also got a back up from attack stat.
i was surprised that it got 14 the first lv and 16 the second lv. But it's nothing really. My ursaring got 15+ attack stat to.
and for my other Pokémon on light platinum there main trained stats are between 12-15+ because of EV training with pokrus.
thanks that you replied to my post. I'm really thankful!. I stopped playing light platinum. I don't know why..
but i started fire red generations (one of the newest hacks) and i made some screen uploads.. If you like to be updated with my trainings keep track of my screen uploads. Most of em are really good trained.
my current Pokémon's i trained who are pretty much maxed out are:

alakazam: lv 52 special attack: 212 move set: psybeam, extrasensory, recovery, psychic
salamence: lv 81 attack 328 special attack 261 move set: dragon claw, rock slide, aerial ace, flamethrower
hitmonlee: lv 100 389 attack move set: brick break, reversal, mega kick, foresight
absol: lv 70 277 attack move set: slash, sword dance , crunch, faint attack
zangoose: lv 75 272 attack move set:  slash, fury cutter, crush claw, false swipe
swellow: lv 50 188 attack 173 speed move set: facade, bulk up, aerial ace, drill peck
sceptile: lv 70 253 Speed move set:  move set: fury cutter, leaf blade, bullet seed, giga drain
sneasel: lv 70. 209 attack 200 speed move set: ice beam, aerial ace, metal claw, faint attack.
i got a list of other Pokémon but this are the better ones. So yea.
that's on Pokémon fire red generations. I got a lv 100 electivire on light platinum with 378 attack.
electivire: lv 100 move set: focus punch thunderbolt thunderpunch and ice mash (brick break)
again, thanks for responding to my thread!

Effort Values are stat increases that come from destroying another pokemon. this is why Im picky about about training places because of pokemon e.v.'s. electrive rules

I never really done any EV training before I don't think it matters so much I rather just give my Pokemon vitamins such as Carbos so it will have higher stats.

I am pretty new to the whole Effort Value system of training. To be fair I do not know much at all about it other than it is useful for increasing an individual skill beyond that of what could normally be achieved just playing through and not worrying about the Effort Value points. However, this is a system of training I would very much like to get stuck into. I like the idea of making each Pokemon the best that they can be depending on what you are expecting out of them. Seeing as this thread shows the points being gained in a snap shot this is probably the best place to, at the very least, get some tips.

What I would like to know is this: how is the Effort Value system in Light Platinum different from other Gen Pokemon games? Do the Pokemon from older games that had Effort Value points towards attack for defeating them still retain the same amount of points in this game or are they less? Do the wild fifth Gen Pokemon give Effort Value points? The last time I played I noticed that they used the sound effects from other games for the fifth Gen Pokemon so I am not sure if that meant that they were not able to add in the Effort Value points for them as well. Would a list of Pokemon that shows how many Effort Value points a specific Pokemon gives work as a guide to help me better train my team on Light Platinum?

If anyone has any answers to any or all of my questions your advice would be appreciated greatly.

Use serebii.com for all your EV information from each pokemon.
on pokemon light platinum, the imagne is the thing that would give the EVs. IF you fight electivire. IT would give 3 atk points ( with pokerus 6) And with macho brace 9. But, I do not know where to find macho brace on light platinum.

I Always train in EVs. I'm used to it so. I basicly know the EVs of every wild pokmon i would enounter.
I'm now training SP.ATK EV's while using macho brace (at pokemon Obsidian)) I'm training againt rosellia, they give 2 EVs + machobrace is 4 EVs for each killed rosalia.
1/4 are used. So, you would get 1 extra stat point for killing 2-3.
The total amount of stat gaining depends on the amount of fights you did.
If you use exp share, or switch pokemon. Your trainign pokemon will get less exp. But, more EVs
So, your pokemon's EVs gaining wil grow faster at lower lv.
The start is always nice but, after you finished the EV training, you van train on what ever you like!

If you like to so some results, go to my game page profile and look between my screen uploads.
I got a bunch of well trained pokemon!

I hope this information was useful bro!
Goodluck!

Yeah, as you know I train that way too, it an be really
useful in evening out and raising the certain stats of your Pokémon, I use Pokémon database and serebii.com to find out all of the ev's each Pokémon yield when you battle them.

It is a really useful technique that can help your Pokémon. I have pokerus in the game so that is good and it doubles the ev yield that I get from certain Pokémon. I have always ev trained my Pokémon and I always try to go to certain locations thanks to your fire red generations ev locations! It really is useful and I have a pretty good team going so far. But I did ev train a lot in this game to get the best stats for my Pokémon, but no one comes close to that attk stat of your electivire, it is just astounding and awesome how you go it so high. Great job!

Razor-987 :
To tell you the truth razor,
I do not only EV train.
I even put time and effort to find a Pokémon with the right DV points.
Combine both DV and EV, and you can get a perfect EV trained Pokémon.
It sometimes cost me like a hour of free time to get a Pokémon of the certain gender, DV, and nature. And sometimes even lv.
I got myself a lv 14 numel with 29 sp.atk. And quiet nature.
She is lv 15 now and got 33 sp.atk.  She got a boost of 4+ sp.atk stat.
It took me 15 mins to get the ralts on Pokémon obsidian that I now use in my team.
My zangoose took me 10 minuts to get.
And my aron (aggron now) took me half a hour to get.
The numel I'm EV training now took m 20 mins.
You see, I use A LOT of free time not only to EV train. But, also to compare everything i caught. And select only the ones with the best protentionals. It does cost time but, For everyone who wants to see the effectiveness of my training style, go look on my screen upload section on my gaming profile.

There are some perfect result on it!
I got a lv 50 zangoose screen upload which had 183 atk. That's actually the highest you can get for zangoose at lv 50!
http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-dp/335.shtml ( check it out if you don't believe me

Thanks people for all the responses!
I'm really thankful for all the attention everyone is paying on my work!
This is the reason why I EV train! To show people on Vizzed what kind of end results it can have!

Yngwie : That is really great though, I think it is worth the time to get the perfect combination of EV and DV to get a great and perfectly trained Pokémon.

It may take a while but if it means a very strong, well trained Pokémon, then I think it is all worth it. I am sort of picky myself in the beginning of games when it comes to picking the starter I want and getting the right gender, stats and nature because it can really influence the progress that you make when you are training a Pokémon, so I think it is totally worth it if it means taking an extra hour to have a perfect Pokémon.

I have seen your screenshots before and I think they are truly amazing and you are a master at Pokémon. The results really pay of in the end when you end up with perfectly trained Pokémon, so great work, you are the master!

Razor-987 :
To be completely honest with all of you, I'm doing EV training for 5 years now. I also EV trained on the online Pokémon game Pokémon global.
In that time, I was already known as a raiser instead of fighter.
I first trained A LOT. Before actually fight against others.

Trust me people EV training may seems useless while not being able to battle each other but, IF David got is s*** together, and we can live battle via a gba net play session! Then i'm certain that no one is going to beat me (not to be a dick or anything.)
But, that's what i think.
Of course, strategy is also really important to win a fight but, I do combine strategy, team build up, and raising.

Thanks Razor, for calling me a master in Ev training.
I'm actually showing people the effect of it, so they are going to use it.
So I can get a bit of challenge in training.
I want to mutate Pokémon's IF i got enough Ev trained Pokémon.
I'm going to put 2 PERFECT EV trained Pokémon's to breed a egg.
Then I will hatch it.
And then I will raise it, breed it again, and The DV will grow,, and its eventually grow stronger then its actually build.
I got a armaldo with 403 atk on one of my oldest Pokémon ruby save files. By raising armaldos in atk stat, and breed then.
I had 7 lv 100 armaldo, 20 anorith. And the latest one had 403 atk.
Same method was used to get a pincer with 413 atk at lv 100
The max atk stat of both armaldo and pincer is 383 So, you see how high there attack actually was compared to there natural limits!
(This was actually on a ruby game i owned in real life so, i didn't even used cheats.)
