Sleeping with the T.V on is highly un recommended due to two things 1 being causes a bad habit of always doing it and 2 being your sub-conscience will still stay in tune with the t.v which could do some things to you in the future if it hasn't already.

I used to be able to turn off my TV and then fall asleep but now if I don't hear anything I stay awake bored and it actually wakes me up and I get annoyed and then I go for a walk. It's just easier having the TV on.
My psyche is already screwed up enough my subconscious cant absorb any more useless information.

Do I sleep with the T.V on?, Well no not intentionally because I find leaving the television on with no one watching it a general waste of electricity which is a resource not to many other countries have plenty of. And to be honest I don't really enjoy even napping with the television on because I would constantly hear sound from what ever program I fall asleep watching and since I'm a light sleeper it would wake me up. Overall I think I have actually fell asleep watching television a total of two times, both happened while watching day time television, those day time television shows were the home network channel, and the Bill Cunningham show.

Nope. Maybe with the computer on, but I don't watch TV much anymore. It's a little waste of time for me now, specially during the Tour De Vizzed. Either way, the answer is no.

Usually I do though recently ive been sleeping less with a tv on.
Also a good thing to do if you can't fall asleep without the tv on is to set the time timer on the tv to like 30 minutes so it will shut itself off after you have fallen asleep. Although not all tvs has a timer.

No, I don't. I have a small TV in my room, but I rarely (if ever) watch something on it. Before I go to bed though, I like to play on the computer for a few hours so I can have some alone time.

I never leave the TV on when I go to sleep, too many sockets down there, and it has overheated before.

I don't sleep with the tv on. It is a waste of electricity since I am not watching it and it would make it harder for me to fall asleep anyway. But my parents watch tv when I am in bed. I have a problem trying to fall asleep and I don't think tv would help make that any better. Plus there isn't anything good on at that time anyway. So that is a now for me since it would keep me up all night and it is an unnecessary waste of power.

ender44 :

I do every now and then.
I do try to shut my television off before I go to sleep but sometimes
you’ll fall asleep when you fall asleep and that’s that. My Dad has always slept with the television
on. It’s just how he was raised. I don’t sleep well either way (I’m a writer,
keeps odd hours and deals with chronic pain) so it really doesn’t matter to me
but I will keep the television on during days when I have to cover something as
an alarm of sorts. Either way I always
have my DVR set so I’m covered in either instance.

I don’t know what the health risks are in any sense but the
way I look at it with technology ever advancing those risks if there are any
will probably go down in time.

Well I would If I had a T.V in my room then I would happily do it every night. But I Don't so I just use a radio and put it on some channel that is a chat show all night. Sometimes when I really struggle to sleep I just go down stairs and watch T.V for a bit if not until I fall asleep on the sofa.

I really think that sleeping with the TV on in my house is really weird because my TVs are at the downstairs rooms and the other bedroom.

Yeah I sleep with the tv on, its kinda soothing in a strange way. When its completely silent my mind starts racing and I end up not sleeping, plus sometimes things from whatever show is on will pop up in my dreams.

my father as well as my mother both have always slept with the television on. i myself have never been able to though. i feel as though the sound and the light are more of a distraction than they are a calming and soothimg aparatus. i always hear something i find interesting and thus impedes my ability to fall asleep.

No. It's senseless to me, why you would keep the TV on while sleeping, actually. It takes a bit until I'm asleep and the TV wouldn't really make that better. If you aren't using something, why should you keep it on? It's like having your game console on, while you aren't home.
Because, in sleep, you can't notice anything. Only your subconscious mind can, and letting the TV on may cause in getting sleep disturbances.

Other than that, it's well-known that you shouldn't keep electronic things on over night or when not in use, because of various reasons (environment, costs, ...). So if someone lets the TV on, I'd suggest using an automatic timer for the TV to turn itself off.

If I can't fall asleep, I leave it on, and turn on the Sleep Timer. It helps me fall asleep. The TV on also help me dream as well, but on some weird but in a good way type stuff.
