orionfoxgibson : I agree, If you play Minecraft, you get stuck to it very quickly. You will be wasting your time all day if you play Minecraft. Plus, I am very tired of all those Minecraft videos! There's just too many of them with way too many views. I really think Minecraft is way too overated in my opinion. But it is very addicting.

orionfoxgibson : I used to play Pokemon but there came a time when Pokemon just had too many games for me to keep up. The last game I played and liked was Pokemon Leaf Green. After that, it just became boring because I was playing the same game over and over again and collecting the same Pokemon. It sucked.

I never really played any of the original hand held games of Pokemon in my childhood years, but I did own Pokemon Stadium AND watched the anime during the time. Do I enjoy it today? Yeah. I play it every now and then.

 I have lost interest a lot lately, what with the bizarre and absurd piling on happening in the Pokemon universe. But, those first several games where great to me. Those games and my Game Boy were some of my most constant companions as a young fella. They were simple, fun and grand in their own little way. So, I think I would say that I used to like Pokemon. I would probably still play one of the games today, but, honestly it has gotten way past the point of silly now.

I never played like old school games and current games kid icarus ice climber snow bros bomberman contra 2 3 battle city godzilla ninja gaiden razor edge I never played those before

I have only played (and only beaten) 2 Pokemon games (Pokemon Pearl and Pokemon Sapphire, but I've hacked around in Pokemon Diamond). I suppose I think they are kind of fun, but I don't really play them that often.

I understand that Pokemon is popular but the joke is too old now.

I think this post should Clear up a few problems this thread has.
This is about being mature about being a fan. Understanding what the game world has to offer.
Not limiting yourself and robbing yourself of the chance to enjoy a good game.
See what other peoples tastes can bring to the table.

Otherwise people should not bother posting in this thread. I can only stomach reading how popular one game is or is not.
that is not the point of this thread.
I just wanted to know if there was a variation of taste in video games. Plus if certain popular or unpopular games have something more to offer.

I don't play Pokemon either. I've never tried it and I never will. These days everyone is talking about Pokemon and Call of Duty and I almost never hear anyone talk about the franchises that I play such as Pac-Man and Mario.

Typical games I don't play are puzzle games and mystery/solve it games or most RP games. I don't play puzzle games because I don't have the attention span  to sit there and try to figure those kinds of games out same goes for mystery/solve it games. I'm not a fan of RP games because they just don't appeal to me.

I don't play pokemon on here, but the pokemon forums seems to be a good way to get lots of posts.

People need lots of time to get into a Final Fantasy game.
I Stopped playing most 100+ hour R.P.G. games after I graduated High School.

Mostly due to the text being replaced by voice actors.

But the Time Required is the main Downer. It can get repetitive and lack major rewards. Plus if you do not even care about the characters? It can be a lost cause.

Even though I might not be trying the game out...
The new Final Fantasy 15 Teasers look Great.

I hope Square Enix can do something more with that franchise. Even though I do not buy them any more? The music videos on the internet are cool. I'd be missing Final Fantasy allot. It would be a shame to see it all fade. The Games I did play were good for me and the time they were made.

I don't really see it as a "fake pet franchise" but rather as good game franchise.

A game franchise that I don't like that everybody else seems to like would be Zelda. I dunno why but I find it boring but that's just me and I could still see why people would like it.

I don't play any games from the atari nor do I play EA sport games.

I like Pokemon but I have never played a Final Fantasy game or Kingdom Hearts game.

I like Pokémon games, but I never really got into Zelda. I never got into the CoD series, either.

While I like a good Pokémon game, I seem to find myself drawn to more obscure games, like Summon Night: Sword craft Story 1 and 2. I see where you're coming from though, as not every game attracts everyone. Personally, FPS games are not my thing.

Well, orion, you don't seem to be the only one here who doesn't play pokemon games. I also NEVER play pokemon games. I have never played it once in my life. I know it seems really weird, but I'm being honest here. XD
