Ah yes, Mega Man X. In my  opinion, this is the best game ever made.

Graphics:
All the sprites are different and still keep the same robotic theme going on. One thing that especially good is how enemies get disassembled when defeated, one thing many games still don't do. The animations are clean and are very diverse.

Sound:
All of the music is amazing. From the intro to credits, I love the music. I sometimes just play the game for music.

Addictiveness:
I can not put down this game. Stunning visuals and sound make this game unforgettable. I DARE you to find a more addicting game.

Story:
This it is not a regular Mega Man game story. It has a great plot. I almost cried when Vile tried to kill Zero.

Depth:
This game feels great. With 25 collectibles to find, the game is fun every time I play it.

Difficulty:
This game is HARD. But that is what makes it so good. You can always get better.

For your first review, it's definitely not the worst I've ever seen, but it needs a lot of improvement. For example, the detail is a bit lacking...what makes the sound amazing? What makes the game difficult? What makes the story great, aside from the fact that Vile tries to kill Zero? It sounds like something that isn't all that important because most people know what Mega Man X is like, but what if you're reviewing a game that not very many people know about? If I didn't know what Mega Man X was like, this review wouldn't give out more than a basic skeletal description of the game.

Also, congrats on post #1! You might want to introduce yourself in the Newbie Forum.

Nothing can really be considered "best game ever" per se. You could say it's "My favorite game ever" or something like that, but it's not really something that can be called the best. If we're judging by quality then no, it wouldn't be the best, as there's various bugs in the game, could use a design overhaul, and could be updated to today's graphics. If we're talking about it from some sort of nostalgiac perspective, it would still be subjective and not "the best game ever made". It's simply not how life works.

Regardless, your review met standards I suppose, and it was decent for a first try, so I'll congradulate you on that.

Also, welcome to vizzed. If you need anything, let me know.

For a first review, you are off to a good start, however, as November stated, you could definitely benefit from beefing up your explanations as to why each category earned the score it did. You should always strive to be as detailed as possible (without being redundant of course) when you are reviewing a game. To say that a game has great music isn't enough. Dig deeper. Why is the music great? How does having great music contribute to the enjoyment of the game as a whole? Why did you rate the sound a 7 instead of an 8?

If it helps, prompt yourself with questions like these for each category you review to get yourself in the right mindset for making your reviews more detailed. Personally, when I write reviews, I write them as if I am explaining why they are great/awful to someone who has never played the game before. Don't assume that the people reading your review of the game have actually played it and share the same view as you do. That's where your review comes in. Convince them that the game has  great graphics, and why Megaman X is better than one of its predecessors for instance. You convince people through making your stance clear, and structuring each category/score around your outlook of the game. I should clearly be able to read through your review and understand that you really like/dislike the game within the first few sentences. I shouldn't have to guess on your stance of the game.

Try applying these tips to your next review, and maybe check out the guide on how to write a review for additional advice. Reviewing is something you get better at with more practice and absorbing constructive criticism. I hope this helps, I look forward to your next review!
