From looking at many of the game reviews, people seem to think that Pokémon games are easy.  And with the exception of the battle tower/train/spaceship/whatever, it's usually pretty easy to blaze through these games pretty quickly and not even black/white out, and the one time that would happen would be when the gym labyrinth was so long and a pain to get through and you forgot to save.  The only time that the game begins to get difficult is in hacks where the game designer seemingly wants to troll everyone with trainer's poisonous Venipedes being your first real battle and is necessary to get to the Pokémon Center to actually heal your weakened Pokémon.  But once you get through the first gym, which really only is hard if your starter is weak against that type, everything gets easy.  Occasionally the E4 is hard (I am shouting UNOVA at this point), but it's still possible just to catch a certain Pokémon, buy some stuff, and kill them.  In game hacks, I've often found that the difficulty is slaughtered, such as with placement of powerful Pokémon where it kills the difficulty (Starters in the first grass you get to and, like down the road, Legends Cavern or whatever it is called has wild level 100 legends in a place where you can reach it at below level 10.  I caught a Suicune at level 20 something and that helped me catch some other legends.)  There's also the removal of barriers that would keep you from facing Pokémon that are 3X your level(And like an idiot I fought these people until I realized that I was going the wrong way and didn't have to face Brendan at lvl. 18 before I faced him at lvl. 5).  I have also seen some crazy unbalanced fakémon(such as the grass/electric starter that learned Thunderbolt at lvl 15),  Is there really any other solution to the issue of difficulty other than dirty tricks like Pokémon center blockades and poisoning (especially in the start of a game) other than level (or stat) inflation?

the solution is here people dont want kids to keep on losing, and losing, or their temper will get out of control and which is bad for their health. every i lose i get really mad. my friend played a hacked game on a ds and he lost and he coudnt take it any more and he chucked his ds at the floor and broke. that what people didnt want to happen. so if you want hard you have to play hacked games, those are much harder. and some people are mad because they are so easy. see waht i mean. so if you want  hardness then i suggest you play hacked games. or gen 1, 2, and 4 games. those are the hardest in my opinion. emerald is a little hard too. You know what i am not very good at these games. or you could try to train you pokemon less.

The most pokemon players are aronnd the 3-40 years old the most are kids the olders from 40 years have no live just are crazy but the kids play the game and just go where the path goes so its easy but its fun for kids from the line where u get smarter u would normally thinks its boring to play a other (pokemon)-game. From generation 1 it was easy but if u look at the latest game that comed out (black 2 and white 2 ) with black kyurem and white kyurem it gets harder but too funner and more technoctaly so its easy but fun thats the desiccion ( and the fun - fact)

I'm personally fine with any difficulty (as long as it's not battle tower/train hard) and I own Black (1), Soul Silver, Platinum, Diamond, Emerald, and Fire Red. I have played some sort of ROM of Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Red, Blue, Ruby, and even Green, at least a little. I also have several ROM's I own on Vizzed. I'm really asking this to help me design my Pokémon hack in the best way possible. By looking at comments for certain games, it's obvious that the difficulty in certain hacks have been slaughtered, making them really easy. Of all the games I have played, (excluding pinball, Pokémon Jade/Diamond which is admittedly terrible throughout, or mystery dungeon games which each manage to be hard in their own different ways at points), there's only been one that I have found difficult due to the inaccessibility of Pokémon centers at certain points and the frequent poisoning, which was pretty unfair happening before I reached the first town (besides the hometown). I am currently cringing at the idea of breaking a D S.
