GuardianZack : So please try to compete, I feel like I'm the only one interested on the Speedrun competition.

I just had the worst mega man run in a long time. First off, I haven't played this game in months so I was a bit rusty. Second, this game loves to go glitch crazy. In Elecman's stage, I kept getting knocked off of the ladder after I kill the enemy, and I make it up the ladder but still end up electrocuted. Second, Wily Stage 2 was being a complete S**TF**K jerk. I don't understand how i kill an enemy and still get knocked into the bottomless pit. So my time was terrible. I had a better time of about 42 minutes but the game decided to reset on me just as I was about to face Dr. Wily so I had to redo it again where I faced a boat load of getting knocked into bottomless pits. The robot stages weren't too bad with the exception of Elecman's stage. The Wily stages were ok, with the exception of 2. Wily Stage 4 wasn't as bad as 2 but I still had a bit of trouble getting past it. I could've done better, but I managed to beat it in under an hour so that's good. anyways, good luck to everyone and I'm sure you guys can beat my time. In fact, i'll be surprised if I come into the top 3. Btw, my record for Mega Man is 35:36 so I probably wouldn't have won anyway. Once again, good luck to everyone else who attempts to speed run this game.

I can't believe that somone managed to beat my time and make even better than me, I must really put some effort in this if I want to beat weapon, good thing we are only in the middle of the month.

Seishiro Leonhart : good luck. I would try and beat it but at this point I don't have enough access to keep trying without mistakes. Hopefully soon I'll be able to but for now probably not.

Davideo7 : Here's something I want to know. The original Mega Man I'm actually good at but for some bosses like the yellow devil, I need to use the pause/ play glitch to actually beat him. I was actually wondering if I'm allowed to use glitches in the game. Remember though that if you do approve, its best you tell people who might be competing so that some people would not really get an edge over others.

cdrom11 : There's no way for me to know whether someone used that glitch or not so because of that, I'd have to allow it.

Davideo7 : I don't think a glitch like that would make much of a difference with this being a speed run and all. That particular glitch can add at LEAST a minute to a single boss fight. So it lengthens your final time fairly significantly for each boss that you use that glitch. So as far as placing goes, it won't matter much.

rcarter2 : For some reason I was thinking that this was a score competition and not a speed run competition, my mistake. I guess I thought that because we did a score competition on this game in the past.

I thought doing the pause glitch would be faster than beating a boss normally, not the other way around. For example, if you're fighting Yellow Devil normally, you have to sit through his long attack after each time you hit him, but if you use the pause trick, you only have to sit through the attack once, and you can defeat him in one shot(if you do it correctly).

madison : That would be the only boss I can think of where that would be the case simple because you can't attack him until his sequence is done. But like you said: If you do it correctly. For any other boss (or if you don't do it correctly), the pause glitch adds time (at least it does for me) because you still have to wait a couple seconds for the flashing to stop. And since the pause and un pause sequence is about 1.5-2 seconds long itself, it just adds time.

It is a shame that I don't have time to be in this MMcompetition, I love mega man games. I could do it losing  few lives but I would spend a lot of time to practice and remember things before to try to get a good speed run

A word of advice. Never do a speed run with your family near you. Especially when all they do is give you dirty looks for attempting a speed run as well as call you names and mess up your run. I was at wily stage 4 at the 24 minute mark and my family decides to screw me over and mess up my run. I give up. I'm not finishing in the top 3 and I no longer care. If I can't do a run in peace, I won't bother doing it at all.
