My personal favorite is Mario Kart Wii because of the bikes, something about the way they turn just felt right. Though Mario Kart: Double Dash is in a close second despite being called the "worst" in the series. It was one of the few times my sister ever played a game with me constantly so there's no way I'd bash the 2 people per kart mechanic.

My favorite was Double Dash and I was sad to see the system go away.  I never understood why it did so bad.  I liked being able to race with another person in the same cart.  Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart 64 are tied for number 2 for me.

 Mario kart double dash is mine because the game isn't like Mario kart wii. The bullet bill that gets you from 11th to 3rd in 5 seconds is total spam, and there is no multilayer without computer players so there is no direct competition involved!

Mario Kart 64 is my all time favorite. I enjoy Mario Kart Wii though I guess, even though it really caters to suckier players. To be 1st in Mario Kart Wii at a decent difficulty for more than like 30 seconds is like a damn miracle. Not that you can't regain your position, but after about 4 blue shells in the same circuit it gets a little ridiculous. Unfortunately, a lot of Wii games are like that since they're trying more to recruit new younger members than keep the ones who have been steadfast and loyal, and are in their 20's/30's.

Well I now have Mario Kart 7 for the 3ds and I think that it is a good game in my opinion, but it never tops the fact that I like Mario Kart Wii and Double Dash as my top two favorites of all time.

Super Mario Kart 64 was my favorite Mario Kart game.  I do however like the Wii version, but it can not compare to the 64 version.  The Mario Kart64 revolutionized racing games.  I can play it over and over and over again.

My personal favorite will always be Mario Kart 64. Besides the obvious "I grew up with a Nintendo 64, so its automatic" feel, it just has better tracks. Especially Rainbow Road. I love everything about that map. Including its soundtrack.

I like mario kart wii more than i like any other mario kart out there, but im pretty sure i will like mario kart 7 if i get the chance to play it. My favorite mario kart on the wii is the sprinter because its the fastest for the medium people such as mario, bowser jr. and daisy.
