First though, enjoy this Downstaight cover of Radio. (Zack Ryder's theme)

Hunico and Camacho vs. R-Truth and Kofi Kingston, for the Tag Team Titles of Doom

The tag team division is excruciatingly painful to watch. They feel they need to conform to crap like this all the time. Pairing people together just because they wear the same clothing doesn't make them a tag team. There's a lot of hard work and training that goes into making an effective tag team. Look at the Hardyz, The Dudley Boyz, and Edge and Christian. They were great as teams since they know what they were doing.

The match went about as well as you can expect for a pre-show match. There were few great moments, and a lot of spots that were more Smackdown quality than PPV quality. I thought the point of a pre-show match was to hook last minute buyers?

And besides that, we all know who the winners were going to be. It can only end one way when your opponents are nothing more than glorified jobbers.

Money in the Bank match for World Heavyweight Title Match - Dolph Ziggler vs. Damien Sandow vs. Santino Marella vs. Christian vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Tensai vs. Tyson Kidd vs. Sin Cara

This match was a good start at least. I love how Ziggler has come as far as a performance standpoint. He had a couple awkward moments in this match, but I more or less blame his lack of experience in these types of matches, as well as his competition. Sandow is a pain to work with, Santino is just a comedy sketch, Christian is amazing, but underused, Cody Rhodes is also amazing, but underused, especially in matches like these that he should be a lot more dominant, Tensai is too clunky to work with, and Sin Cara botches too many moves to be safe.

But what about Tyson Kidd? He absolutely stole the show with his prowess. There was more than one moment where I said "Oh my god, he can do that? Why isn't he on the main roster?".

I do have to ask, after that showing, can he at least be elevated to mid-card status? He isn't exciting on the mic, and he's got a ways to go before being anything more than midcard, but he has the pure wrestling ability, which cannot be ignored. Worst case, just give him a mouthpiece... Dolph Ziggler doesn't need HIS anymore that's for sure. I'm curious what they do with both Ziggler and Kidd going forward.

The ending was sort of predictable. Vickie gets involved, allowing Ziggler to capitalize, and in the end Ziggler did win. Thankfully. The only other person who really deserved it was Kidd, and he should only be mid-card for now.

Alberto Del Rio versus Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Title

Did anyone else feel sleepy from this match? I couldn't make it through this match without wondering when it was going to end. The boredom probably comes from the fact that one is a giant brute who wins by tiring out his opponent, then kicking them in the face, and that the other is just a guy who gets off on hurting the opponent's arm by basically hugging it.

I don't know what it is about him, but Alberto Del Rio rarely has interesting matches. I would put the blame on Sheamus, but he's had great matches this year with talents like Dolph Ziggler, Christian, and more, yet ADR hasn't had a good match since the Hell in a Cell PPV... and he wasn't even really all that great in it. Punk and Cena stole that match.

Anyway, nice to see Sheamus win... but!!!

Dolph Ziggler has come out with his briefcase!

But doesn't get to cash it in, because ADR is an ass who insists on delaying the match, and allowing Sheamus to get up. Ziggler does NOT cash it in, and he gets to hold the briefcase for a bit longer.

The Prime Time Players w/ AW versus Epico and Primo w/ Rosa Mendes

Breaking tradition, this was the first time I took my pee break in a match that WASNT the Diva's match. Kind of glad too, my friend who was watching told me I missed absolutely nothing of value, which is unsurprising given how Epico and Primo are pretty stale, and how the Prime Time Players are not all that talented either. WWE sticks to the "Dress the same and you are a tag team" rule. To be fair, The Prime Time Players are the most diverse team in WWE, but that doesn't make them a good team. They have a lot to work on in term's of wrestling skill.

I watch half the match, which is a snoozefest. See the 1-2-3. Cheer. Winners are just who you think. (Primo and Epico)

CM Punk versus Daniel Bryan for the WWE Title... in a no DQ match with a special guest referee... AJ Lee.

Match of the night? More like Match of the YEAR. I had a bit of trouble with the connection, but I was able to get the most out of this match later on. Remember the Undertaker - HHH match from Wrestlemania? This match went toe to toe with that one for match of the year. Both have something in common. Talented wrestlers. Competant meaningfull special guest referee. Drama. Pain. Technical skill.

THIS IS WHAT A PPV MATCH SHOULD BE.

It's a shame it was so "short". They could have easily stretched this match an hour long, and it would have still been exciting to watch. And knowing these two, they would have been fresh all throughout.

AJ really hammered it home to the viewers that both men are equally skilled. She did just what a ref should. Keep it right down the middle! Until she brought in the chair. That was just awesome though. I don't think I have ever had such fun watching men wreslte over a chair.

Bryan showed some real technical prowess, as did Punk. Both really brought their A-Games to this match.

Punk wins, as expected, but not without a few close calls.

Ryback vs Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins

We got an unfamiliar sight... Ryback being tossed around. For at least part of the match, Hawkins and Reks actually beat up on Ryback. It was... odd to say the least, considering how dominant he is.

But Ryback destroyed them.

So yeah. Boo. Boring match.

Divas Tag Match - Layla, Kaitlyn and Tamina Snuka vs. Beth Phoenix, Natalya and Eve Torres

THE FACES VERSUS THE HEELS. Because lord knows we haven't had enough of these matches.

I don't have a problem with faces facing heels... that's logical. What I do have a problem with is making seemingly random tag matches. Layla is a singles competitor and should only tag with Kelly Kelly on rare occasion, and Tamina should never tag. Eve isn't really "friends" with Beth or Natalya, so meh.

The star of this match had to be Kaitlyn. She made a real impact on the match, and has me wondering when she'll be bumped up to the main roster. She certainly deserves a spot at this point...

Faces win (as per usual)

Money in the Bank Match for WWE Title Match - Kane vs. Chris Jericho vs. Big Show vs. John Cena vs. The Miz

Nice to see a 5th man added to this match. It really kept things from devolving into one guy versus one guy till another comes in and crushes to face the other guy.

Jericho and Kane seemed... absent. I mean, they were there, but they had few spots where they looked like they ever had a real chance to win. Jericho came close... but there was someone obviously better than him in the ring at all times, so he was never "really close".

Big Show spent half the match trapped under ladders where he belongs. As a heel he is boring. As a face he is boring. As anything, he is boring. I dream of the day he retires or leaves WWE. The time has come and gone for giants.

The Miz had a good showing (love the hair) and really put his name out there for future WWE Title considerations... but with his movie, you have to wonder when he'll get that shot.

Come on, we all knew who the winner would be. SUPER CENA.

He says he'll challenge Punk on the 1000th Raw... so he could be the first person to cash in. AND LOSE.

Either that or we'll see the first RAW WWE Title change in like forever... win-win.

Overall, a pretty meh PPV. They had the match of the year in the mid card, a mid card match as the headliner, and a couple of piss break matches (I counted 3 where you could have gone and missed nothing... including 2 of them back to back.)

If the WWE title match ends the show, then you've got a good PPV. But unfortunately, WWE crams Super Cena down our throats.

Either turn him heel (where domination is expected) or make him a weaker character (which would be appreciated in either case). But please. Stop the Cena shoving. I like him as a person and he's not "terrible" in ring. But you can only shove him so far.
