PLEASE!!!!!

I am lacking in games to play that are interesting for me. I've played the games I enjoy a few too many times and I would like so recommendations of games that other people have enjoyed.

Oh, and please stick to PC based and nothing brand new because I might not be able to run it, although I can run most things made pre-2008 pretty well.

Also, I am looking mostly for RTS or Turn-based strategy games that involve resource management to some degree. ie. starcraft, civilization....

I might be interested in RPG or FPS if the game looks particularly interesting.

So please, let the suggestions roll in!

Give Delta Force Black Hawk Down a try. I wouldn't pay single player cause it blows but try online play it's really good. Here's a few reasons to try it:

1. It's cheap and pretty old

2. Has the best online play apart from other FPS because there are no limits to where you can go on maps. On some maps they may block you in with 1000 foot walls but other then that you can go anywhere.

3. You can lean corners, roll on the ground, make weird noises.

4. Has ranks and medals for online play. Makes the game fun.

If you're a fan of RTS' I HAVE to suggest a couple of things. I am forced by law. No, really.

Age of Empires 3 <-- Get this. Now. XD
Warchiefs Expansion to AOE3
Asian Dynasties Expansion to AOE3

The expansions simply fix stuff and make it equally awesome.

Then theres Red Alert...
Warcraft is okay.

And Maybe Oblivion. (As in for you.)

JigSaw: I checked reviews and saw a lot of negative stuff. Not sure about your suggestion.

Neyro: I'm checking out Age of Empires right now. Got it downloading.

I've played C&C and Warcraft already.

Haven't played Oblivion either.... I'm gonna look for that now too.

Star Wars Knights of the old Republic 1 and 2.

Highly immersive RPG games. Very very worth your time.

This is why I made this thread. There are so many good games out there that I just missed playing because I was busy playing others. Now I have my chance to make up for it. Although this means I'm going to be spending a lot of time playing games.... [glances at wife].... hope she doesn't mind

have you tried any of the heroes of might and magic games?
5 is pretty ok, but i think it was 4 i liked more, spent more time playing it anyway.
i may as well also mention supreme commander and the expansion, forged allience.

Oh and in response to Neyro suggesting Oblivion which is also known as The elder scrolls 4: The elder scrolls 3, Morrowind.

Morrowind whilst not as good looking as Oblivion is TONS better when it comes to game world, content and freedom. Oblivion is very flawed and doesn't have half the freedom of choice that Morrowind has.

but seriously, Morrowind has more choices and freedom as DM said, and real consequences.
kill someone you have to hand in a quest to in oblivion they are unconsious.
kill someone you have to hand in a quest to in morrowind and they are dead.
you can actually make it so you can never reach endgame in morrowind if you kill someone you shouldnt.

thats what i've heard though, i dont have oblivion myself
but i do have morrowind and can say its fun

problem with oblivion, is you NEED to put in tons of mods, and it takes a s***load of time and effort. but it is worth it in the end

Georgee, if you want the full Oblivion experience, a couple of mods are needed to fix some of the major flaws.
Unofficial Oblivion Patch
HGEC Body Replacement OR Slof's Boners (Your pick XD) (Yes, it's nude. ;P)
FCOM (Combo of 4 major Overhauls)
Deadly Reflexes
LAME (Less Annoying Magic Experience)
RBP (Race Balancing Project)
nGCD (Different Leveling Method, Default sucks and intense micromanagement is needed)
And a couple of others. Installing all these I can actually help with doing that.

Of course, you can always play Oblivion without mods. But as Hyren and DM said, it does have flaws. Plenty of them.

I can give you a solid list of mods as well if you want me to.
Also, nude patch? Psh, that is SO 2002. *COUGHSEXVILIONCOUGH*

AOE3 is bloody brilliant. We can do a Internet game sometime if you want.

And how could I have forgotten Knights of the Old Republic... Ahh... Good times. I suggest getting 2, however, many balancing-type thing have been done.

Oblivion is still good gameplay-wise. Plenty of amazing mods and stuff to amplify that as well.

naw i've killed important people to the main storyline in morrowind. they died.
it said the chains of fate have been broken by killing said person and you cannot finish the game, that you can play in this "new world" you have made or you can reload a save from before you killed them to continue the quest.

well thanks for the info about Oblivion.... not sure how soon I'll play it because I'm in the middle of KOTOR right now and will probably do KOTOR2 before I move on. All depends on how long the game lasts and such.



oh, and sorry to disagree Neyro but I didn't really enjoy AOE3. Not that I've played tons of it yet but I found the gameplay difficult. I managed to figure things out but it just didn't feel natual to me. I'm a real gameplay stickler though so it bugs me when things aren't obvious or easy to do (unless I'm greeted by a button by button guide as the game progresses on how to do things). I'm sure the game is good and I'll play it more later on but I doubt I'll enjoy it overly.

Tell me what you didn't enjoy and I can help you out. AOE3 Does that.
For example, I was extra-keen on playing Russians, so I ALWAYS DID. This felt odd to me, because I always died.

I switched to the Germans, haven't lost yet.

I was just doing the wrong tactics, and my tactics suited the Germans more.

All you have to do is find what Civ is good for you, then build up from there.

I'm not sure if it's a problem with how I play the game but with the playability of the game itself. I just don't like it. I think I just need to play a little longer to get over it. I'm just used to interfaces like Starcraft or Warcraft, or Civilization that just feel so friendly to me now. Maybe just because I've played them so much. I'll keep plugging away but something just doesn't feel right. I have no problem winning.... I'm not really sure what it is I'm not liking.

If u ask me dont just go by the reveiws, u have to make ur own decisons. i play games that have such a horrible review. but i liked them and i still play them.

I hear Sins of of the Solar Empire is good. It's an RTS IRRC but came out this year so you may not be able to run it. You probably can though.
