So last week on the second episode of the vizzed.com podcast I reported a rumor that Apple and Valve could be making a console together. Well, it looks like as of right now, that is only a rumor that has been proven untrue. According to Apple’s CEO Tim Cook “Apple is not interested in being in the game console business in what is thought to be traditional gaming.” However, Cook also stated that gaming is becoming a major part of Apple’s business. Cook continues to state that he views Apple as already being in gaming in a big way. That consumers have been buying Apple’s ipod touch for the games.

This report follows after the announcement of Apple’s T.V possibly having a dedicated console with it. This wasn’t the first time that something like this was assumed. In fact last year the same rumors started to float around when it was reported, “code was found inside new Beta firmware,” which suggested that it was to bring gaming to the video device.

So once again Apple will not be getting into the video game console business. Suggesting that maybe the wound from the Pippin in 1995 is still bleeding, and that they are afraid of failing once again. Who knows, but what we do know is that Tim Cook likes to play on words saying thing like “It would be interesting” and “Gaming has evolved a bit, more people are playing on portables. Where we might go in the future, we will see, customers love games.”
