                                                           Castle Vainia two: Simone's quest.

Castle vainia two is a good step up from the first one. Unlike the original this game has some twists and turns to it as well as a couple of different items that you will have to buy or find to beat the game. The addition of day and night modes in the game as well it's non linear path through the game makes it a lot different from the previous version. It has pretty much the same controller's as the first game but in my opinion this game offers a lot more and it is pretty fun to play.

Graphics:7  The graphics could have been better but I gave it a higher score because it has new enemies, the day and night mode addition and the background's and boards are drawn with detail, plus the details in the overall game is a step up from the first one in the series. The graphics to me look a lot cleaner then the previous version, and that's why it gets a 7 from me.

Sound:8  The sound effects and music seem to fit the game well. I have always liked the music in The Castle Vainia series. The sound effects let you know if your doing damage to the enemy, which is important to me. There are plenty of sound effects throughout the game weather you are attacking enemies or buying and items. I gave it a high score really because of the music.

Addictiveness: In this category I gave this game a lower score. While it can be addictive the first time around, once you been through the whole game you should remember all the paths to different towns fairly easy as well as the secrets in the game. Even though it is a low score, if it's your first time playing it might take a while to find and figure out where to go and what item to use at a certain place to progress.

Story:7  Another low score. Although the story is a little different from the first one such as in this one you are searching for parts of Dracula instead of in the first one you are just killing main bosses to progress, it is still about the Beaumont clan fighting Dracula and forces of darkness the end. So just because of the little changes in the story I gave it a not so good score of a 7.

Depth:8  To me this game deserves a high score of an 8. Different from the first game you have to search for levels, important items and there are clues that the towns people can give you if you talk to them. Plus this game is not just straight through, you might have to go to the right for a while then back left or take different paths and some of the towns are hidden and you have to do something in the right place to find them. Just because of that this game gets a high score in the depth category.

Difficulty:8  Another high score! The first time through this game can take a while to figure out where to go and the meaning of some of the clues, plus some of the clues are hidden too. Most often the castle boards are kind of tricky and you have to play by trial and error for instance some of the pathway blocks that you walk on are not real and you can fall right through them making you start over. Plus in the castles you have to make your way to a merchant to buy a wooden stake to open the castles crystal which holds a piece of Dracula himself! Although to me the bosses are not that difficult, it is the rest of the game that makes up for it. That is why I gave it an 8.

I only played the first and the third one on the NES. Funny that I never got a chance to play this one but it seems like a good game to play at least.

This is a bad castlevania game to play. It's a hard game to play and it makes it hard to get sub-weapons and to upgrade your whip. I really wouldn't play this game if I were you

I never got play that Castlevania. Looking at the review it seems like a good game. My favorite Castlevania is Symphony of the Night because, you get to play with Alucard the son of Dracula. He can turn into a bat, wolf and even mist. Not to mention he a has a arsenal of special moves to your disposal.
