What would you say the best open area would be the best place for you to defend yourself out of other open areas.

From Cities to Deserts, to Water, to Fields.

Where would you go to fend them off?

Good question. I would have my back against the ocean unless I found out that zombies could swim then I would rather be in the city posted up high.

I edited the title of your thread. Changed the word Turrian to Terrain.

And I'd rather fight them in a city. Just because there are places to hide, and supplies to be found. There are places for zombies to "hide" as well, though, so it's definitely risky.

Probably in an open area. Also a lot of places to climb.

Most zombies can't climb anyways so that would give you an advantage.

Also with open space it would be easier to find zombies and kill them.

Plus zombies are slower then you are and you'll have lots of space to run away.

I would say on a roof of a building with nothing more than as much food as possible, a chain, a padlock, and a knife. Don't need a gun, and here is why. I would chain up the door to where zombies could stick their heads through, but not fit any further. That way, when they stick their head through, I can just stab their heads with the knife. There is no way for them to get through, and I don't have to worry about running out of ammo. Heck, eventually, there would be so many zombie corpses piled up on the other side of the door, they couldn't even reach the door anymore. Then I can relax until rescue comes.

hackerman :

What kind of an open area has a lot of places to climb? I'm trying to picture something in my head and it just isn't happening right now.

rcarter2 :

I'd be a little afraid of using a knife. I mean, if they can fit their heads through the door, then they can fit their arms through. And in a lot of zombie stories, getting scratched can be enough to become zombified yourself. I'd prefer maybe a bat or something with a longer reach if I were in the kind of situation.

soxfan849 : Good point, I'll hand that to ya. Okay, I will replace knife with a sharpened sword. That is cooler and would be more fun anyway
Plus, having a sniper rifle with about 1,000 shells would be good just for entertainment purposes. Just pick random zombies out on the streets. Even though they are no thread to you, it is always good to know that every zombie you take out is a zombie that won't hurt anyone else again.

It would be open. The rockier it is the harder to climb as well.

That makes sense. Like I said, I tried to imagine something, but for some reason I couldn't really get what you were talking about. Thanks for clearing that up.

rcarter2 : It'd need to be a strong door.
And the food would have to be the long lasting sort.
And you wouldnt have fuel to cook.
And if it rains you get free hypothermia.
The constant stream poking through the door would probably drive you to insanity too.
See if i was in the apocalypse, i would go to a certain castle, on a certain dormant volcano, that happens to still be used as a military base, and happens to overlook most of a city.
It is obviously going to keep zombies out, it will have a ready supply of arms, ammo and food, and i will have a great line of sight.

I would probably just stay in my dorm room. The buildings cannot be opened unless one has a key card, and the doors are reinforced. There is fresh water and a bathroom for every floor. There are windows, but so long as you board them up, I would be fine. The windows aren't really big enough to allow anyone access anyway, and its not like I live on the ground floor!

I always have extra food in my room, enough to last me at least a month or two, so I feel like I'd be fine there. For weapons, I could potentially take parts of the metal from the bed, and make either spears if I use the knife to cut it with. It would take a long time, but time is all you have in an apocalypse. If they were able to break through one of the reinforced doors to the lobby(you need a key card to get into the lobby), they would need to break through another entrance. So long as I don't make any loud noises, there are no windows on the door to the floors of my dorm, I could leave my room for water, and use the bathroom freely. Water at these buildings is made to continue running, regardless of if someone is using the controls. There is also a generator that powers each of the rooms if the power goes out, so I could keep up on the news for at least two weeks. The door locks run on a separate power system, and when the power fails, they run on batteries that can last up to another month. After the initial month or two, probably around the time my room rations are gone, I would have to leave the safety of my dorm room. By that time, I would have made some armor out of the metal from the bed, or from the wood of the desk(if I cut it thin enough, it would be flexible, yet would keep me defended from bites or scratches). I wouldn't be able to take out hundreds of zombies, but I could probably take out at least 20-30. I would just need to move silently, and I could potentially find supplies and make it back before anything knew I was out there. I had a lot of time to think this through last semester during finals week haha

The icy tundra, or so I've been told. Zombies don't have a heating system and so will eventually freeze like a Popsicle stick.

Alternatively I heard deserts are good too because zombies don't have the immune system or cell regeneration that we do and so they will literally just rot to death, there was a site on this that showed how fast a dead pig got eaten by flies and maggots and stuff and the massive boar got eaten in like a few weeks, morbid stuff but i couldn't look away :o

aDrunkenFox :

I assume the site dealt with explaining certain zombie scenarios. If so, do you still have a link? I know I'd be interested to see it.

soxfan849: it was a website called 'cracked' if you just type it in to google along with zombies you should get it, theres one page on how zombies are realistic and could actually happen and theres one saying how rubbish they are, and it says how they can't regrow cells and stuff, etc, etc... but yeah no real scenarios per say. sorry

I would be in a place with hills and some mountains to climb. Higher up, better view, hard for zombies to get up and I can knock them down with a stick if they somehow manage to get up. I can climb to the top, collect rain water when it runs down the mountain, have some food with me (as much as I can have) and have some Molotovs with me. As a weapon, a knife taped and super-glued to a stick.

A house like this one would probably be the best, it is raised off the ground, has all the ease of use of a house, and rope ladders are not usable by most zombies (and still are retractable). This is the best possible tactical advantage I could think of in zombie apocalypse. These buildings were made to withstand flash flood forces, hurricane winds, I think they can hold up to a horde of zombies as you pick them of with some high powered rifle. It is as simple as stockpiling food and ammo beforehand, as those will disappear first. If you have enough food, you can last the zombies out. Effectively a floating fortress.

I'll go the easy way and say somewhere cold like in Alaska, Canada, or Antarctic Base because by the time they get near you they'll freeze to death and won't be able to reach you and when you run out of food there is always fish and Snow beast to hunt, that's if the virus is a human only virus.

For the worst I would say somewhere with a lot of people like a city not because of the multiple zombies but because of the psycho People who wouldn't trust anybody killing anybody because of shock or paranoia.

In order to survive a zombie Apocalypse you need access to supplies, water, and weapons so Id have to say a rural neighborhood... A large city will be to hard to navigate.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
