You might not know anything about Archos, but that's because they don't advertise their stuff at all. Anyway, their devices are much better than Apple's and I recommend them to anyone getting a new music/video player. The only setback is if all of your music etc. is in iTunes, you will probably need to download a converter or the Archos' plugin. Here's a link to their website.

Are you kidding? iPODs are better, sorry, but they just are. I don't follow Apple every step of the way, and I'm not a fanboy, but iPODs are easier to find in stores, and they're really, really affordable.

The reason I put a link there was for people to see prices. Compare the ipod touch to the archos 605 wifi. 22 more gb, still has a touch screen, optional internet, same price. Archos is waaaaaaaaaay more affordable.

Well I for one wouldn't say no for internet and video and such if it comes at the same price.

Also being the ihater that I'm i would much rather have an anything Archos then anything ipod, the Archos 105 especially seemed nice. (There is of course much other things I would like more such as something supporting rockbox)

I never said you had to go crazy over archos and immediately switch products. But when your ipod breaks/explodes, I recommend an archos player. In addition, Archos tends to have better longevity on their products. One of my friends bought a used on that worked perfectly for over 2 years, until it got stolen

My iPOD just got corrupted today but that's because my vista messed up and deleted most of my songs or, at least, hid them in a magical vanishing folder.
But, I refilled my song list and I'm back to listening. Archos looks nice, and I might consider buying one if my shuffle ever dies.

I used to have a shuffle, but I couldn't handle not seeing what song is being played, not being able to sort songs, play songs by artist, play playlists and only being able to add songs from one computer.

And the fact that the usb port just went and died doesn't help.
